Beautiful national park well worth a visit. We spent 3.5 days hiking the park. My favorite hikes were the ledges / ice cave trail and the hike to Brandywine falls. I also very much enjoyed the path through the Beaver Marsh. We saw beavers, green and blue herons, numerous other birds, and snapping turtles. I recommend getting to the ledges trail early as it does fill up. At the northeast border of the park and just outside it are the Bridal Veil Falls and Great Falls. Both are very much worth seeing.

This has been my backyard since I was a baby. I never fully appreciated being able to go into the National Park any time I pleased until I was older. Now since traveling the U.S and visiting other National Parks I am even more grateful for CVNP. It's free! Free to enter and free to park. You can explore just about anywhere. There is so much to do and see. Waterfalls. Scenic railroad. Caves. The canal. Rock formations. Ledges. Cute visitor centers. Fall colors in the fall time. I can't say enough good things about this clean and gorgeous park.

This is the only National Park that we have in Ohio! What a natural beauty! Great for walking , running, biking, fishing, camping and picnicking!! There are several hiking trails throughout the park! No entrance fee!

It's nice enough, but I don't think it's National Park quality. In my opinion, it's not large enough, nor is it naturally interesting enough to be a National Park. I enjoyed my hiking there. I checked out Brandywine Falls after heavy rain. Not a bad place, just not National Park quality in my opinion.

Great national park located near Cleveland. Picturesque rolling forested hills with beautiful river and wetland features. The water falls are definitely worth visiting. This park is very close to urban areas so there is no shortage of food and lodging near by.

Awesome park, probably the best in Ohio. Lots of cool areas and different terrains. The coolest hike is probably the Ledges Trail with awesome rock cliffs. There is also waterfalls, picnic areas, and many trails. Look ahead where you want to hike so you park in the right area...it is a very big park. Definitely will be back many times.

This park is GORGEOUS! Tons to do including hiking, biking, kayaking, a scenic train ride, farmer's market on Saturdays (during summer and fall), so much to do and see! There is a fee for the train ride and if you purchase goodies at the farmer's market, otherwise everything is free! Grab a map at the visitor's center and explore. This is a wonderful and magical place to spend time in nature. I highly recommend visiting Brandywine Falls and The Ledges.

We stopped here to stretch our legs during a road trip, so we didn’t get to explore a ton of the park. We did a quick walk to Brandywine Falls. There is a loop trail that we would have done if we had more time; however the boardwalk was a short walk from the parking lot. The visitor center is nice and has ice cream, several different maps of the park, and a gift shop. The park rangers were incredibly helpful and were happy to answer all our questions. As expected from a National park, it covers a large area, but on the small side for a national park. We are looking forward to a planned visit where we can spend more time. The towpath trail is great for bikes! In fact, this park is bike friendly and the path was buzzing with activity. It is close to I-80, and easy to find. The two bathrooms we saw had water filling stations, which is great!

The ledges loop is a beautiful easy short hike. The rock formations are spectacular. You could spend an hour or make a day of it.

Drove 3 hours here and back for a day trip. Went on 3 different hikes; Ledges Trail, Brandywine Falls, and Blue Hen Falls. First, the visitors center has a small gift shop with little Cuyahoga Valley NP items, and it had a restroom inside and outside as well. Ledges Trail was beautiful with towering rock walls running parallel to the trail, and even on a rainy day the trail wasn't to bad, just puddles here and there. Lots of photo opportunities. The overlook wasn't much, which I expected as the elevation wasn't much on the trail. Brandywine Falls had a trail but I went the easy route and walked the boardwalk to the falls. It only takes a couple minutes and the fall was flowing hard today after recent rains. Would make for a nice photo op with the right equipment. Blue Hen Falls was a down and back trail that was just sloppy wet clay for half of it. The path leaves a lot to be desired on a wet day, whatever shoes and pants you wear, prepare for them to be mud covered afterwards. The path runs along the interstate in portions and also a road, it's an odd path that needs a face-lift. The fall itself was secluded and peaceful, much smaller than Brandywine with a small path leading down to the water. Best of all, there's no entrance fee anywhere in the park, state parks are free in Ohio as well.

Very nice Park. The Cuyahoga River runs through the park. Stop at the Inn at Brandywine falls for a traditional b&b. Cascading Falls in Forested Gorge is INCREDIBLE! Sarah’s Vineyard , Tinkers Creek Road Tavern offers food and beverage. Now Twin Sisters Falls is hard to get to so be prepared for a adventure.

This is a vast National Park with many, many trails that are well laid out & easy to navigate. There are a lot of hotels within a 10 min drive if the park too and best of all, the park is FREE!! There are woodlands, wetlands, waterfalls & wildlife in the park! There is also a train, the Cuyahoga Valley Railroad that runs a two hour trip thru the park!

Cuyahoga Valley, a national park in Ohio, is very close to Cleveland and Akron and provides recreational opportunities along the Cuyahoga River. The winding Cuyahoga (the "Crooked River") gives way to 33,000 acres of deep forests, rolling hills, and open farmlands. The park is a refuge for flora and fauna, gives a sense of times past, and provides recreation and solitude for Ohio's residents and visitors. Cuyahoga National Park, established as a national recreation area in 1974 and re-designated as a national park in 2000, has a rich cultural legacy as well. Remains of the Ohio & Erie Canal, which traveled through the valley in the 19th and early 20th centuries, offer a glimpse into the history of how the country was transformed. Sustainable farming ventures help preserve the valley's agricultural heritage. Cuyahoga offers something for everyone—from hiking, golfing, historic train rides, and kayaking to snowshoeing and cross-country skiing.

Definitely an underrated national park! We are so lucky to have a national park here in Northeast Ohio and as a local photographer I do so many of my sessions in these parks and in the area. Great rolling hills, waterfalls, fields, tons of great trails! The visitor center and main area is great too. Highly recommend getting out and exploring, I love the Kendall Lake area.

There's not enough words to describe the beauty of this place (particularly the Ledge Area Trails and Kendall Lake Area Trails). There's always a turn off the beaten path which makes you think you're the first exploring a new frontier. Check out the gorge on the ledge trail and you must see the Overlook!

As many websites and books note, this park is unlike most national parks in that it’s based off restoration instead of preservation. It’s essentially an urban park, as it’s only a few miles from Cleveland and in the heart of the 3.5 million person metro area. It’s really nice in the autumn with pleasant weather and changing leaves, and it’s outside the main busy travel season of summer, though any time of year is great. The river is really clear and chilly, so it’s good for fishing, wading (where it isn’t rapids), and kayaking. The Ohio and Erie Canal trail and path goes right through onto Cleveland, about a mile away from downtown. It’s very cyclist-friendly, but there were many people walking when I went on it as well. It’s partially paved, partially sand/gravel, but it’s firm, so even on road bike it’s not bad at all. There is no charge for entrance, so there really isn’t any reason not to stop in, and considering two interstates go right over it including the Ohio Turnpike. Highly recommend visiting, you won’t need more than a day in my experience if you’re efficient with your time, though taking it slowly, you can spend about two here. Cheers.

Cuyahoga National Park Iam sure is beautiful, but we. Went to see the train. We found out the train only runs on certain days and early hours. If your going to ride the train check the schedule so you don’t miss it like we did. The trail was nice, it was just too hot for our little toy poodle, he doesn’t like the heat🌞

We stopped here for a walk while traveling. It is not the expansive national parks of the West, but it is one that helped save a beautiful waterway and allows those who would not otherwise have the opportunity, a chance to enjoy nature. The paths we saw were all accessible and well kept.

We (my dog and I) enjoyed our trip to Cuyahoga Valley NP. Most trails are dog-friendly and my dog did just fine on the trails. There’s no shade in the Boston Mills Visitor Center parking lot, and I was alone with my dog, so I had to leave her briefly in the car while I ran into the shop to buy souvenirs. It would be nice if there was a little shade. Brandywine Falls was my favorite site, followed by the Ledges, then Blue Hen Falls. We also drove up to see Station Road Bridge and drove down to Everett Road Covered Bridge. There is a lot of history to explore at the park.

Spent the day here chasing waterfalls and really enjoyed the park. Lots of trails for hiking and running and whether their paved or dirt they are all in great condition. The trails back to the waterfalls were mainly boardwalks with some dirt paths. Brandywine Falls was beautiful and easy to get too. Bridal Veil was also close by but did not have nearly the level of water running through it. Tinkers Creek Falls was a little difficult to find according to Google Maps which told us we had arrived when we were still in the middle of nowhere. You have to map it to Viaduct Park in order to find it and hike down to the upper and lower falls. Beautiful park and an excellent way to spend the day.

Visited the falls over the weekend, and it was so beautiful here. There's so many things I love about this place - one being it is completely free! No parking or entry fee! (I live in Indiana, and every state, city, or county nature park costs money. 🙄) If you take the walking trail down, there's safe access to the water. It was like no ravine I've seen before. Usually, the bottom is mud, sand, or pebbles.. this was one solid rock formation... most likely because of the mountain formation. It was an amazing experience.

It’s a beautiful multiple parks, trails and waterfalls! It’s too many to list! The park is a refuge for native plants and wildlife, and provides routes of discovery for visitors. The winding Cuyahoga River gives way to deep forests, rolling hills, and open farmlands. Walk or ride the Towpath Trail to follow the historic route of the Ohio & Erie Canal.

Beautiful waterfall and great short easy hike. When I went there the bridge was out so I had to park around 0.5 miles up the street. However it still worth it.

While a very pretty area, I don't feel that this park lives up to the designation as a National Park. There is no single natural or man made feature that causes it to truly stand out from many other local and state parks that contain similar features. Even the sum of what the park is does not in anyway stand out. It is a nice urban park however, with several historic features, plenty of walking and hiking trails, and a scenic railroad running through the park.

We visited Cuyahoga Valley NP during a long Father's Day weekend trip to Ohio and spent most of two days in and around the park. There are some beautiful, serene places in the park for sure. As far as National Parks go, this one is a bit unconventional with so many people living up close to or within park boundaries. The history of the area was neat to learn about, and I would imagine living near the park would make it the perfect place to walk, run, or ride a bike regularly. I can't say it took my breath away like Yosemite, but any National Park is still a win in my book!

Beautiful! I’m so happy I got to visit during the fall season! If you love nature this is a great place to visit that’s very near the urban area of Cleveland about a 30 minute drive from airport. It’s a nice scenic drive you can also do some trailing and picnicking. I saw there was a place for RVs and also a train ride. There is no charge to drive through or hangout. Will be back

It’s amazing how close the National Park is to the Cleveland downtown! There are many spots worth visiting, but for the first time visitor, Brandywine Falls trail will be the must see! We also spent some time visiting the covered bridge and the ledge trail. Highly recommend to people visiting Cleveland to spend at least one day here!

Just had an amazing time at Cuyahoga Valley National Park! I explored the stunning Ledges trail, where the rock formations and scenic views took my breath away. Brandywine Falls was an absolute highlight - the waterfall was a sight to behold! The Brandywine Gorge trail offered a serene and picturesque hike, perfect for nature enthusiasts like me. The park's natural beauty, well-maintained trails, and breathtaking landscapes made my visit truly unforgettable. It's a haven for outdoor lovers and anyone seeking a peaceful escape. Can't wait to return and explore more!

We went to Brandywine Falls within the park and enjoyed a fairly easy hike along the boardwalks to falls. It was a Saturday in July so even though the parking lot indicated that it was busy, we didn’t feel like it was crowded. While it is not a spectacular waterfall, it is a very nice waterfall especially for the ease of access. The lower view point which was the best did take a little effort due to several stair steps off the main boardwalk. We returned back to the parking lot via the Stanford trail which required steep descent and climb in and out of the gorge. The trail had a lot of rocks and roots to maneuver through, but made for good leg stretcher.

This was a very brief visit on a hot and sticky Sunday in August. We checked in at the visitor center first to get the lay of the land. Next, we decided to visit Ledges, a relatively easy trail with cool things to see. We loved the experience, but should have skipped the hike towards the top as there was no view to speak of. Also stopped at the well-known Slazay's Farmer Market (very cool!) and Brandywine Falls (best views are actually not at the top). Glad we went, but wouldn't go back to do more.

As of writing this, I’ve been to 17 different national parks on the United States—and Cuyahoga specifically 3 different times. There is some great hiking and other things to do here, but it is a bit of an oddball in the National Park System. There’s not much of a sense of organization, no clear entrance or exit. You could drive right through it on basic local highways and be completely unaware that you passed through a national park. For this reason, it can be a little difficult to find attractions within the park. Some of the attractions you find feel a little overdeveloped, losing some of the “wild” appeal other national parks have. But there are still some cool things to see and do here. A couple of the must-do things here include Brandywine Falls and The Ledges. Brandywine Falls is fairly easy to get to, as there’s a small parking lot for it, then you just descend some stairs on a short walkway to the falls. The Ledges, however, are a prime example of how confusing Cuyahoga Valley can be. You can park in the parking lot for the The Ledges, then hike around for hours trying to find the actual “ledges” before you finally do. There are almost no clear signs marking the web of trails around the parking lot. A map near the parking area is minimally helpful. Still, if you can figure it out, this is one of the best places to visit in all of Ohio.

We saw this all along the way while taking the 2 hour train ride. We thought it was super cool they had multiple stops along the way where hikers and cyclists could hop on the train and ride back to where they needed to be for a small fee. Beautiful scenery along the way.

Decent walks in the park. But I can’t get over how there is a major highway so close that you can hear cars driving on, and ski slopes. This is a good place for exercise and cardio. But it is not a place to go to feel serenity and fast nothingness. You don’t feel out there

This is a great National Park conveniently located between Cleveland and Akron. I went here and was very satisfied with my experience. I drove in to the park on the road that goes by the Boston Mills Visitor Center. I went inside the visitor center, which was quite modern inside, to grab a map of the park. While I was there, I looked at the visitor center’s exhibits, which were quite nice. After I finished looking at the visitor center’s exhibits, I left the visitor center and crossed the Cuyahoga River to walk around the buildings on the other side of the river. These buildings used to be part of a small mill town, but the town is now uninhabited. The buildings are managed by the National Park Service. After walking around the buildings, which consisted of a general store and gas station among other things, I got back in my car and drove to Blue Hen Falls. I parked at a parking lot and hiked down to the falls, which were quite nice. The waterfall doesn’t have much water, but it eroded the rock behind the water fall, so you can actually walk behind the water fall. After being at the waterfall for a while, I walked back up the trail, which was a bit steep, to the parking lot. I got back in my car and drove to The Ledges next. The Ledges are these large blocky rock formations that you can walk along the bottom of. The different blocks of rocks are pretty close together, so the space between the rocks is quite small. However, there’s still enough space to walk through the cracks and in some cases behind the rocks. When I parked at the parking lot, I hiked along The Ledges Trail, which takes you around all of The Ledges. It’s a pretty smooth trail without much elevation gain, so it’s a pretty easy hike. There were a bunch of dog walkers along the trail, which is a testament to how easy the trail is. Even though the trail is very easy to hike, it’s still scenic. After I finished hiking The Ledges trail, I drove up to Brandywine Falls. I parked at the parking lot and walked along the boardwalk to get to Brandywine Falls, which is quite nice. After looking at the falls for a while, I walked back to my car and left the park, satisfied with my experience. I gave this National Park five stars because it has some nice scenery and is conveniently located between Cleveland and Akron. There’s a train that goes through the park up to Brecksville and down to Cuyahoga Falls, but I didn’t use it. There’s also a ski slope across from the Boston Mills visitor center, the Boston Mills Skiing area. Even though this National Park doesn’t live up to the standards of Arches National Park or the Grand Canyon, this is still a nice National Park in its own right.

CVNP is my place to get away from the hustle of work and demands. The trails seem endless, each more beautiful than the next and there's always something new to see each season. Bike, hike, ski, paddle, learn, reflect, renew...

Really enjoyed this place, the hike was tough for me but only certain parts though its (if not mistaken) 200 miles. The ice cream and history and the falls I really enjoyed. Learned about the Dames Rocket flower and some mill history. Wish I did or used the boat launch (didn't bring a kayak/canoe).

It's an amazing place to take families. Hiking, fishing, picnicking and kayaking. The Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad is a marvelous adventure. It's such a wonderful place. 🌲🌻

What a beautiful park! If you don't like to hike or run on an extensive trail system, don't come.

Beautiful national park with great walking trails. Walked the brandywine gorge loop and the ledges loop. Great for getting a nice hike in! Clean restroom facilities. The brandywine falls were a little on the dry side due to the lack of rain but still a great visit.
