It's a fantastic sight to see! I've gone 3 times so far. Make sure to bring a bright light to be able to see and be mindful of electronics certain parts of the tunnel have water dripping down.

Very dark and drafty. Has a few places inside the tunnels that leaks water. Huge old tunnels that were built between the Allegheny river and the hill side, so it makes for some very nice pictures. There is a path on the outer side of the tunnels, it takes you on a very nice walk, but it does not take you exactly where you parked at, so you must go back thru the tunnel to get back where you started.

The road is kinda sketchy getting here, but Freedom Falls is just up the road and it's worth the trip. Bring a good flashlight if you're gonna enter the tunnel. It's dark and misty in there!

We really enjoyed taking the kids on a walk here. I would recommend bringing flash lights and wearing warmer clothes because it gets colder the further in that you go. It was also wet and icy towards the opening end as you'll see in the video that I shared. Once we got to the end we climbed up the hill to see from above. Definitely worth it if you aren't afraid of heights (or even if you are).

Considering water is doing its best to erode the ceiling away on the far side this is very well preserved. There are luminous markers down the center path to help you keep straight down the dark tunnel.

Woodhill tunnel is a very wonderful place to go on a hot day for a walk. The tunnel maintains a constant temperature and humidity throughout the year. Recommend you bring a flashlight. It's so dark in the middle of the tunnel your cell phone just won't cut it. Upon exiting the tunnel you have a reclaimed rails for trails path. Mostly shaded and following the Allegheny River. There are several locations for a picnic.

What a cool experience. A must do . Take your time and enjoy the sensory aspect of being in this tunnel. It's pretty amazing. And the trail at the end is I credible.
