This is one of the reasons oldest temple in the city which is dedicated to goddess Kamakshi and Lord Kamadeswarar and it is located in Parry’s corner. This temple was originally located closer to sea shore and it got relocated to the current place. Since this temple is at the crowded location we will not find any parking spots for 4 wheelers. I was made to run around to get a spot. People who have shops and other establishment around this temple are very helpful. They will come running and ask you to take the vehicle from the parking spot even if you find one. They have a few people in these streets to look after that. That’s the only problem here so be prepared to park your vehicle somewhere else and walk to this place to avoid such issues. Temple is maintained neat and clean. They make you to sit in front of the god for couple of minutes to get her Darshan. Overall this is a nice place to get the blessings of goddess Kalikambal and get your mind and soul relaxed. You should definitely visit this temple at least once.

One of the best temple in Chennai. Everyone must visit this temple. Will get divine vibe with during festival times due to crowd as well as instruments. Not very big temple in comparison with some other big temples in the Chennai. There was no special ticket dharshan which was good. Parking can be very hard we we have to park in the surrounding of the temple in the road side.

Goddess Kaali is also known as Kalikambal. In other words she is the incarnation of Maa Kaali. Kaalikambal is the Sowmya Swarupa (amsa) of Adi Shakti. The sacred Goddess Sri Kalikambal Temple is situated in the heart of Chennai City in Tamil Nadu and located near George Town around Parry’s Corner, Thambu Chetty Street which is a commercial hub dedicated to Sri Kaalikambal and Lord Sri Kamadeswara. It is an ancient temple dates back to almost 3000 years. The details about the God Sri Kamadeswara and Goddess Kaalikambal are mentioned in various puranas. Among 18 ancient puranas the details of the Goddess of this temple are specifically mentioned in Matsya, Vamana, Kurma, Linga and Bhavishya puranam. As per the history, earlier this temple was located much closer to the seashore. It was during the year 1639 as requested by the British Merchants the local Vishwakarma Community people constructed the temple under the guidance of Brahmasri Muthumari Achari in its present location on Parry’s Corner (Old George Town) on the street parallel to a prominent commercial street called Thambu Chetty Street.

Visited on a Saturday Morning around 8am. Parking is congested for 4 wheelers as it's a very small street go through. Temple is well maintained and service by priests were good. Since it was full moon day, so abhishekam was going on that attracted the crowd. Good, peaceful place to be with family and advisable to visit early morning hours before 8am

Absolutely divine! The Goddess is very powerful and merciful. One unbiased temple where they take let you share your star and gothram details even when you just participate as a devotee and haven’t paid for Abhishekam. It gets very crowded on Tuesdays, Fridays and weekend. But nevertheless you feel satisfied and not rushed to pray. Parking is the main issue here cos when you go during business hours it gets tough to park near the temple cos local businesses don’t want you to park in front of their stores which is understandable.

The murti of Devi is so serene and powerful. Wonderful atmosphere inside the temple. Clean surroundings. Devotional songs setting up the vibe. Expect huge crowds on auspicious occasions. Parking is literally not available due to the extremely cramped street.

Original Kaalikambaal temple was more than 3000 years old and was at the present day St. George fort (the region was originally called as Swarnapuri). The original temple was most probably demolished by Britishers. It was built at the present location in 1640s. The original fierce Kaali form was replaced by Kamakshi form. Very powerful Amman. A must visit for any sincere spiritual seeker who comes to Chennai. All devotees are allowed to sit for a short time in front of Amman and remain blissful watching the deepa aarathi. Moolavar is Sri Viraat Vishwaroopa Parabrahmam (not to be confused with Lord Brahma). Brahmam is the ultimate reality, which is beyond space and time limitations. The aim of life is to realise that the individual small self is transient and just a shadow of the Parabrahmam, which alone exists and manifests as all living and non-living things.

Located in one of the busiest streets in Parrys corner, this temple is dedicated to Shri kaligambal and lord kamadeswarar. The temple was originally located closer to the sea shore and was relocated to the current site at 1640 CE. It was then built in 1678 by Shivaji. Tamil poet Subramaniya Bharathi was a regular visitor of the temple. This temple is crowded during Fridays and other auspicious days. It is better to avoid visiting by your cars since there is ZERO parking available on this already crowded narrow street. Ola and uber is the best option. Currently archanai is not being done. People have the habit of visiting the small ganesh temple right outside this temple before getting in. It is must visit temple in north Chennai. It is so famous that sometimes you could spot celebs.

The temple is located in Thambu Chetty Street, a prominent financial street at Georgetown, running parallel to Rajaji Salai. Ambal gave blessings to Chatrapathi Shivaji so maharashtrians must come. This is one of the famous temple in the Parry's area which is famous for the places like Madras High Court, RBI, Chennai Fort, other banking headquarters, etc. Lord Arulmigu Sri Kaligambal is a powerful goddess here and the goddess was worshipped by Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj to win the war against his rivals. Lord Sri Kamateshwarar is at left side of ambal. Saint Vishwabrahmin is also have a separate small shrine here and the temple is being managed by Vishwakarma community. A must visit temple in chennai city.

Walkable distance from the station This temple is located in the busiest area of Chennai City. We don't have a parking facility in the temple. They will do Pooja and Arathi for devotees.

This temple is located in Thambu Chetty street in Parrys, Chennai. This is one of the most powerful temples in India. They close by 12:30pm. Offering lemon garland to Sri Kaalikambal goddess is highly recommended. Don't forget to offer a similar garland to Sri Prithiyangira goddess. Its an ancient temple of historical importance. A very beautiful temple too. Darshnam of Shri. Mata Kaaikambal gives you peace of mind. It's very significant to note here that on 3rd October 1677 Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaja from Maharashtra had visited this temple secretively in order to avoid the British garrison nearby while on his Dakshin Digvijaya expedition and had prayed and worshipped Mata Shri. Kaalikambal with utmost devotion and is said to have donated a large sum for upkeep of the temple.

Shri Kaaligambal Temple is very popular among devotees. Crowded most of the time. Situated in congested Thambu Chetty street with no place for car parking. Seperate sanctum for Shri Brahma and Shri Pratingya Devi (Ugra Roopam). Two ancient and divine Shiva Temples ( Shri Mallikeshwarar and Shri Kachaleeswarar) are nearby, within walkable distance from here.

It's one of the old temples and famous in chennai. Traditional and devotional people know the importance of this temple. I got divine love from the Annai kaalikambal. I regret only one thing, as everyone knows Chennai is super hot. The temple doesn't have a ventilation system and it's so hard to be inside of the temple. I got showered with my sweat. Apart from that, it was so good.

A must visit temple in Chennai. The temple has a quite good history and many famous personalities including the modern times, do visit these temples. The goddess looks charming, gorgeous and powerful. Temple is crowded on tuesdays and fridays. If one need to spend quality time near the shrine, then visiting on other working days are recommended . The prasadam (puli sadam, sweets) are definitely worth to be tasted. The drawback is that they are not well maintained.

Outside the Temple you have place for ur foot wears and shops where you can buy lemon malai, vilakku oil, flower garlands, manjal kayiru at reasonable price. The temple conducts yaha on every amavasya where you do yaha by paying 100Rs and join. Inside there is a nageshwar where you can tie thali to the nagapanjamis for marriage. Once you enter the temple meet Lord Ganesha then proceed to the main dieti kalikambal where you can give the lemon malai to poojari to place at ambal padam and get the lemon back for you. There is a kodi maram where you can sit and do dhyanam. It's a small temple you can quickly finish ur seva

One of the most famous temples in Chennai. Was originally built by Chatrapathi Shivaji Maharaj. The temple exudes great vibes and the deity is so beautiful. However, access roads are very congested and quite often the roads can be blocked by police. Car parking would not be possible here, you might have to park it a bit far away and walk. Two wheeler parking can be managed by parking on the road.

Best. Prayer place. Some of the Gurukkals are doing urgent Deepa aaradhani. I think they have some urgent work other than this..

Ancient Temple. Very well maintained. Better go before 9am, as it's located in busy business area, vehicle parking not possible.

Located at prime place.always stay blessed.Parking was the only issue as it's located in 50 feet road.Hence advised to travel via cabs or auto instead of own vehicle to avoid parking issues.

Again today, a first time darshan of the most powerful goddess of all. Rushed from Vadapalani to here by Metro, the fastest mode to reach here. Some kind of homa with special poojas in temple today. Very small, yet calm and powerful deity.

Devi Parashakti is Kalikambal here- She is a beautiful combination of Kaliamma in the form of Kamakshi amma with a mahameru (a 3D form of the Sri yantram-the very form of Parashakti) in her garbhagriham. Her consort Shiva is called Kamateshwara. There are temples to Gayatri devi, Durga devi and Pratyangira devi (a huge murti). Chathrapati Shivaji Maharaj had visited this temple (as recorded in the temple). The Ganapathy is Siddhivinayaka and Kartikeya here is with Valli (icha shakti) and Devasena (Devayanai in Tamizh-kriya shakti). There is a stone inscription of the beautiful song "Ullam Uruguthaya" by Shree Andanvan Pichi amma. There are temples to Bhadrakali sametha Veerabhadra (the form of Shiva who removed the ahankaara or ego of Daksha) and Virat Vishwakarma swamy. Do visit this temple, meditate for some time and watch devi Parashakti change your life for good. The abhishekam that is done in early morning is a beautiful puja one should book or try to attend. Shree Mathre Namah

Temple seemed a bit crowded but was so well maintained being in the heart of the city. Was peaceful but with the crowd gathered it seemed a bit odd to be. Being first time visit still it was aesthetic. Be alert on people approaching for alms around the temple not all are really needy.
