Please don’t compare the price with local aquarium with this place coz quality matters. Francis bro will give you tips and clear doubts about the diseases and fish behaviours. Good customer service.

Shop at the main area of Adyar. Good ambience and maintenance. A little costlier But I was Ok to pay for good quality. Good collection of fishes and setup which will give you an idea of what and how you can set up your tank. My disappointment was that the shop had only one variety of plant(variety in java), other varieties (good looking & I liked most) were told that they got booked. And not many varieties in stones and woods too. I hope next time I will see a lot of varieties of plants to pick.

👍 Bang on the main road. One to two cars parking available. One of the good shops in the city if you want to setup a live aquarium. Fishes varieties are good. Snails are also there. Couldn't find shrimps. All good food brands are available unlike other shops. 👎 Cost is slightly on the higher side but expected. There could have been more live plant options..

Wanted to get a custom tank done. Had enquired at multiple places and finally decided to go with Chennai Aquarium. Primary reason was the quality and aesthetics of the display tanks I saw at the store. I explained my requirement and the options were presented to me. I must say that I made the right decision. Completely satisfied with the results. In addition, the communication and co ordination was spot on. The tank was delivered and setup on the date that was committed. If you are looking for a custom tank in Chennai, this is the place to go to.

So far the best aquarium shop in Chennai. Genuine price and feedback on choice of fishes. Unlike other aquariums, here the shopkeeper doesn’t want to oversell you fishes. Gives correct suggestion based on the size of tank and combination of fishes..

If you are looking for an exotic fish tank setup and rare fish species -" Chennai Aquarium " is the one-stop destination. Predominantly owner of the shop has extensive knowledge of Aquarium handling /fishes, and his guidance will be top-notch. I would highly recommend it as this is one of the finest in Chennai.

Had high hopes on this place! But let down ... I had previously purchased 5 pairs of rummy nose tetra from them and all are hale and healthy.. and due to this i recently purchased 6 pairs of cardinal tetra and within 3 days 70% of them are all dead! These guys sure do charge a premium for their fishes and seeing them all die like this is a total let down! And before anyone jumps up saying the tank conditions matter, the tank is cycled by dark start method and it's been 4 months since the tank was setup... The other fishes are all doing well in the same tank. Edit : now slowly all the fishes which were well and active before adding the new fishes are all passing off! The rummy noses have started dieing one by one now.. they had been well and active for almost a month now. The Cardinals were acclamatized for 30 mins for temperature and 30 mins for water via drip acclamatization. The pH is at 7 . And yes i believed that the fishes you maintain would be in prestine condition and hence decided to pay the premium of 5 - 10rs extra per piece over the market rate! But they looked extremely pale and weak upon releasing on the tank upon acclamatization and even after a day in being in the tank they looked the same. Please don't say that the customer has to hand select the fish! You people are the experts are supposed to pick out the healthy ones for the customer. Also the packaging was shoddy this time. Half the water had leaked in the main cover from the s.a.e cover! Please have some experienced staff do the fish picking and packing. The first time I bought from you the packaging was perfect! Overall a complete letdown from Chennai aquarium

Literally paradise for all the fish in this place. Unlike other aquarium even for display or retail tanks they put lot of efforts to make fish feel as it is wild by maintaining right water parameters and conditions. And stock we get from here is really better compared to other shops. Dont compare price with other shops as their quality is too good

I got my entire Goldfish Tank Built exactly to my requirements by the very knowledgeable, Talented, Kind Francis of Chennai Aquarium Fame. I was not very particular about the cost as long as the final product was Perfect and to my exact requirements. I got the Tank, Cabinet, Sump Filtrations and Lights made to my exact requirements and I am very happy with the final Product. Variety of fishes are there with good conditions. I ordered fishes and other accessories from pollachi. Packing was so excellent. fishes are very active and good conditions. I have bought fishes worth 1400 day before yesterday but 1 fish died. They have packed poor quality fish which was about to die. Each fish cost 160 rs. And other fishes also looks dull. I don't recommend this shop. Repay the amount.

My experience is with online order .I used to have albino and catfish shark lived 13 years in my fish tank after their death I was confused which fish i need to keep later i bumped on chennai aquarium youtube i got steered towards cichlids so later i bought yellow morph from local store to check the conditions it survived well to my water after 120 days i thought to add tankmates so i contacted this shop reply was little late can understand mine was all texting no calling they replied and francis bro answered all my annoying and beginner questions with patience i was skeptical they would take my order online which is small my order was around 2.5k(with shipping) with rocks,food , 4 acei yellow tail and 2 red top mbuna they took my order and they shipped it good each fish was individually double packed and fishes were healthy and active. my destination was 150 kms away. I know people gonna say we can get cheap from kolathur and fish farms even i know about them but chances while purchasing online it gets thin if u want a healthy fish and fish farm feeds different food and most of good discus sellers will sell only after they get habituated dry food so does to all fishes i contacted most online sellers before francis bro and they charged way too much knowin my need and with compromises from my side. i feel the way chennai aquarium shop maintained and fishes prices as charged are so reliable especially if ur ordering online i can say that mostly no one india can provide this variety of cichlids. and this was my first online ordering of fish and it went really well I am happy and with minimal calling.

They have good African varieties. But other varieties are less. Their price is also somewhat higher compared to other aquariums nearby. If you are looking for African varieties, this shop is good. But if you are comparing the prices I would not recommend.

Just for your information today I went this shop they don't even come and ask what did you want and all. No customer service. Mostly the price is too high. Yellow morph very small single piece is 100 same with medium size with pair is 100 in kolathur almost in all shop. If you want to view all the variety of chichild you can go and watch it. Tanks and fishes are looking good ...

Amazing customer service to go along with the variety of beautiful fish they have. Lots of Cichlids, Tetras, Bettas and Discus to choose from. They also had a nice little selection of wood, stones and sand. Definitely worth a visit !

Absolutely one of the best shops in Chennai and collection of fish that can't be found anywhere else in Chennai, you would know what I mean if you're into cichlids. Quality promised for the extra price bit. Shop owner Mr. Francis is much passionate and knowledgeable and will guide you honestly before getting into the business aspect.

Very good maintenance of aquarium the clarity of the water they maintain for the fishes is always good. They're taking more efforts to keep the tanks clean which we cannot see in most of the aquariums.

One of the best aquarium shops in Chennai. I live closer to the Kolathur fish market. However, I prefer to buy from this store only because of the quality and variety of fishes ( fishes are quarantined to avoid disease). Also, they suggest fishes that suits our tanks size and not over sell. The price is a bit expensive that is justifiable for their clean maintenance, quality and service.

If you really want to know about the ornamental fishes. Please take their suggestions and advice. They do help Setup aquarium. The owner is more passionate about the Aquatic life and more knowledgeable about it.

Wonderful place to buy aqua hobbyists and aquariums with aquascaping. The owner Francis is very knowledgeable and patient enough to know your needs and answer queries.

Best setup in the whole city. Excellent collection of fishes. Everything is maintained in pristine condition. They have every type of fish to satisfy beginner level to hardcore hobbyists. 4 stars only because of the prices of some of the fishes are not justifiable.
