I will start this review with my honest opinion of the food. It's not good. With a constant change in products aand inconsistent plating being just the start, the quality of the home-made items is at best food truck standards. Quick service with minimal quality. Ultimately, your paying for more than you are actually getting. The pull pork is dry and usually grill burnt. The waffles are frozen, which is insane consider how easy it is to make waffles. When applying at this job, the job listing on Indeed had it listed as a $17 an hour kitchen positon. This turned out to be a bait-and-switch tactic. In truth, the starting pay was $9 per hour plus a tip out to the kitchen staff. So on average, you COULD make $15-$17 but wasn't guaranteed. As a former employee, I can attest to the horrible conditions of this kitchen. Upon starting, the main fridge for storage was filled with undated and unlabeled food both prepped and raw. I cleaned it myself because of my own standards as ab employee and chef, never once asked to clean it and it would probably still be as filthy as I found it. It had to throw away many moldy food items. Labeling and dating food was never part of the training and was done by no one on staff. The flattop is not under a hood vent, causing both smoke inhalation and fire hazards in the workplace. I quit this job because I found a better one. Not only does this kitchen have trouble labeling and storing their food properly, they also don't have a safe working environment. I stand by my one-star review and would give it zero if I could.

We ate at Barley and Bees for the first time today and it did not disappoint! The biscuits were incredible. Everything was hot and fresh. We had the Kentucky Derby and the Early Bee. We will definitely be back. The portions are very large. We were sad we didn’t save room for the strawberry shortcake!

I was very happy with the choice of our meal at this sweet little souther eatery!! My hubby and I shared the Voodoo Chicken and the Strawberry Short cake. Both are yummy! The biscuits were soft inside yet the bottoms were a little over done. It didn't stop us from eating them though! Nice atmosphere and just very chill. The staff is super nice too!!

My wife and I decided to try Barley & Bees on Friday December 30th. We were very dissatisfied. They hostess/ waitress that took our order seemed uninterested in being there and greeted us with a list of items they were out of which was strange cause they weren’t busy at all. My wife ordered the chicken & waffles were dry and seemed like they were bought from a store. I ordered the 40 watt club and it was dry as well with a strange taste to it. Just not a good experience at all very disappointed.

This place is DELICIOUS!!! The chicken and waffles were a 10/10 - super juicy and full of flavor. We also tried their jalapeño stuffed pretzels and Nashville biscuit, neither left us disappointed. Everything was so fresh. Will definitely be coming back for those chicken and waffles! It’s in the same location as TWISTED SPIKE, so we were also able to enjoy some amazing beer from our wonderful host BOBBY!

We stopped in for brunch and it was amazing. The honey butter biscuit was to die for. We will be back next time we are in town. Do yourself a favor and get a beer-mosa with the vanilla cherry beer. It tastes like a dreamsicle! The bartender was so helpful and nice!

I should’ve taken more pictures before but if you want quality flavor and food, you need to come to Barley & Bees in Twisted Spike!! The food is PHENOMENAL, the environment is great, and service was awesome too! Definitely coming back and bringing friends!

Nice atmosphere and the food is OK... The reviews were very deceiving to my family and I specifically the ones about the chicken. The chicken's breading is either burnt or the grease needs to be filtered. It is juicy though.. I had the chicken and waffles... If excluding the breading, was very delicious and fixing. I'm not sure if this was by choice or just a bad night. I will probably return but not for the food at Barley and bees.

Customer service top notch, people are friendly, seem genuinely kind, and clean the tables regularly. The food… well it was the among the few BEST meals I’ve had in OKC. Food: Voodoo chick and Kentucky derby (Nashville hot) Best Chicken strips in OKC, the breading was crunchy, the chicken was moist and well seasoned. Making the Kentucky derby “Nashville hot” means the sauce is on the side (I like sauce on the side). The sauce was tasty, I’d drink it if I weren’t dunking it. The fries were delightful, the BEST fries in OKC I don’t know what batter and recipe they use to make them crunchy and savory but it was soo satisfying. The food price matched the quality and quantity of food. Will be back here again with more friends!

Unique little place, food was VERY good and out of the ordinary, French toast to die for, large portions, pretzels were under cooked though. Service was a bit slow, but we did arrive right at opening time with 9 people. We didn't care for the fact that there was no coffee or breakfast drinks, and all of the drinks were in bottles or cans. We would go again.

Loved the bacon cheese with egg biscuit. The tots and gravy were duds. Would have rather seen biscuits and gravy. Saw there was a chicken meal want to try that next time. To give full food rating. Service was nice just did take awhile for the food was the only downer we saw a few people ask where there good was seems the kitchen need tad bit more cooks

There were seriously only two tables in the place. And we just left took them over an hour to give us our food. My food was also cold so seems like it was sitting there for a while. And it was burnt. Fries were good. But again also cold. Never again. Would not recommend at all. The beer is amazing though
