The city park service continues to destroy the charm of nature by cutting down large ancient trees and wondering why the shoreline is eroding, and clearing out the homes of the deer and other wild animals that used to make a walk or "country drive" so enjoyable. The citizens voted for more trees in parks but here they cut them down and plant twigs that struggle to survive. It is a park not a wheat field. Send our park officials to other cities to see natural beautiful well managed parks. Please! Use natural reforestation zones which are simply small fenced areas of 6-8 square feet that allow native trees to re-establish in open areas needing trees.

A not long but unpaved road leads you to the Hobie Point. The lake view is picturesque from there. Plus, it is a good place for fishing.

Was on SH-9 to observe a future highway project and drove in to eat lunch and use the restroom, while in there I came back to my work truck to find a 20$ fine from the Rangers, thought I was in a public place, no signs about pay online for 15 minutes parking??? Horrible way to make money!

This is a nice lake. It’s got the normal problems associated with too many visitors like trash and traffics, broken equipement depending on the day. Other than that is great place to relax take some photos and maybe even interact with nature.

I took my puppy Deebo on a adventure to the lake today. He wanted to run, swim and explore every tree he could. We had a great day.

Beautiful place, however the city is messing it up with all of these new barriers and stuff they're putting around the lake

Great bike paths and walking trails around the lake. Good restaurants on the east side to relax after walking or biking.
