Henry Overholser Mansion

πŸ‘πŸ‘ What an incredible house. All the furniture is original as are the rugs and clothing. That says something for a building built in 1903. The receptionist was superb. People often mention house, history, mansion, tour, floor, home,

Visited on a Friday during their drop in hours. Such a beautiful home. Thankful that Henry Ione Overholser surviving husband sold it to the local historical society to preserve it. We had the house to ourselves and the mansion guide who met us on the main floor was very knowledgeable. The placards in the rooms were very informative. This is an absolute must see if you are local or visiting OKC. Full of history and charm.

Very cool place to visit in Oklahoma. Enough antiques from Henry to make any serious mancave jealous. Lady Overholser had no shortage of culture and it showed in practically every other room on the first floor. Second floor was the only daughter's floor pretty much and it's almost like walking into I love Lucy. Good times..

$10 admission, credit cards accepted. Plan on one hour. Saturday visit anytime between 10-2 for a guided tour. Weekdays apparently need an appointment and are at specific times. Grounds accessible 24/7, but there's nothing to see outside beside the mansion - and equally over the top neighboring mansions. Parking is on the residential street, but wide enough for an RV without issue. Mansion is filled with original to the house items.

Although they were in the process of restoration after a large roof leak, there was still plenty to see. I arrived just after opening, so I was treated to a kind and enthusiastic attendant who gave me a lot of great introductory details. In October, they are hosting a multi home tour in the neighborhood which also has many large historical old homes.

One of the best preserved museums I’ve ever been into. It’s like stepping into the past, and everything down to the China and the carpet is original to the house. Really interesting, and awesome house. You need to check this out.

Awesome hidden gem close to downtown. I biked to the the mansion and although it seems like it blends very well with the neighborhood, it has all the attributes of a mansion from the early 1900’s. Awesome to hear the volunteers tell you stories about Mr. overholser and Mr. Monroney.

Went when it was free admission for museum day! It was really gorgeous inside. I had no idea such a historic house is smack dab in OKC! I would have visited sooner if I truly understood how close it was to home.

This little hidden gem in OKC was so fun! Of course we love imagining how people lived in days gone-by and it was fun to feel transported to another time ☺️ Very knowledgeable/friendly tour guide who didn’t mind answering lots of questions and then we got to wonder through the house. We were the only two on the tour mid-week at 10am which was really nice!

Great place to see what life was like 100 years ago. Everything in the house is original and you can go through the whole house. Lisa and Heather were very helpful in explaining the history of the home and added colorful commentary.

Went to the Haunt and history tour last night. Never being to the mansion ever it was pretty interesting to learn the history and with halloween coming up, to learn some of the haunts of the mansion. If you havent gone, it is pretty cool to check out.

This place was great, but wow their drip coffee is strong! No complaints about it though, I recently took a break from coffee so my tolerance is low, so it did keep me up at night! This is definitely the spot for those who enjoy a quality cup of Joe. They also encourage reusable cups!

Lots of local history. They have the house as is when it was donated by the family. Original furniture, dishes, stained glass windows. Lovely!

Nostalgic. Mansion is over 95 percent original and in good order. Tour guide very knowledgeable of the Overholser family and all the household items inside the mansion. It looks as if they still live there. Amazing antiques in perfect working order, no flaws. A must see.
