Local Oklahoman for ten plus years. Over that time my wife and I have stayed at numerous B&B’s in the area. The Monastery by far had the most secluded romantic feel out of all of them. The grounds are enclosed with a natural stone wall and trees lining the property. The beautiful lake is the center point that the house was designed around. The keepers have done an amazing job lining the side of the lake with different areas to sit and enjoy the lakeside views. Also side note, my wife and I are vegetarian and they did a great job customizing our breakfast for us. Monastery is my first recommendation for anyone in the metro looking for a secluded B&B.

Celebrated our 25th Wedding Anniversary at this precious little jewel in the heart of Forest Park. Sooo very relaxing and fun! The grounds are beautiful and the location so full of history. Wonderful food, cozy surroundings, and the owners and staff are super friendly and welcoming. My wife and I are already looking forward to another visit in the summer. Book at least two nights to fully enjoy the experience. Highly recommended!

The property was amazing, quiet, and just so prefect! The Innkeeper and his staff (especially Heather) were great and make you feel so welcomed (coming from Vegas that is not a normal occurrence)! I happened to mention that I don't like raw tomatoes so my husband took them off my plate at Breakfast one morning and the next morning Heathet had just put all the tomatoes on his plate, it's the little things like that that really set The Monastery at Forest Lake apart from other places we have visited! And the room we stayed in had such a nice view of the lake it was so nice to wake up with the sun looking out over the lake! Highly recommend checking this place out if you're looking for a romantic getaway near OKC!

What a neat little bed and breakfast with lots of history!! The owner is very nice, and provided a tour upon arrival. The location is also great, making it a quick trip to restaurants and things to do! The breakfast was absolutely delicious. My husband and I would definitely go back!

My husband and I had a wonderful weekend here recently to celebrate our 18th wedding anniversary. We wanted to be close to home but feel like we were weren't and this place was perfect! We loved the relaxing atmosphere of the property and house. Everything is laid back and comfortable. The hosts, Matthew and Sharyn went above and beyond to make sure we were well-taken care of and are so fun to hang out with as well! I really recommend the Monastery at Forest Lake. It's close to all of the fun of Bricktown, but will make you feel like you're at a secluded hideaway, far from the stress of life! We can't wait to come back again!

We loved the history of the property & how peaceful it was! Matt & Sharyn are fun hosts! They know the history well enough to give you a few quick history lessons & its so fun getting to do more research & seeing all the info found online about the monks/ Robert Kerr era. Landscaping/banana trees/ atmosphere, ducks/ baby geese and hot tub/pool were all favorites! In love with the Forest Park area! Will definitely return!

This place is a little hidden Gem, in OKC, beautiful pool, hot tub, and the breakfast by Chef Heather was delicious. Very nice adults only B&B.

This was, by far, my favorite location that I’ve ever stayed for traveling. My only regret was not having more time off of work to stay longer! Setting aside how AWESOME it was to learn about the history of it, it is a beautiful location with so much care put into every aspect of your stay. Compliments to the chef for the awesome breakfast (shout out to Matthew, I took the rest of my French toast with me to eat on the ride home), and big appreciation for the friendliest ducks I’ve ever encountered (Larry followed us until he realized we had no bread to give 😭). This was the perfect place to unwind and relax, everywhere is so comfortable and well-cared for. It was an awesome trip, and I cannot wait to return to Oklahoma JUST for the experience of being able to stay here again!

Older house but in very good shape. On a lake, nice sized swimming pool, big hottub. Excellent breakfast. At least our bed was comfortable, I would bet the others were too. Close to zoo, Museums, restaurants but nothing is walkable. Does have a nice trail around the lake. Host is interesting and very helpful. Staff was also friendly and helpful. Hope to return soon. I would rank it a luxury experience.

My wife and I enjoyed a 1-night stay at the Honeymoon suite over Valentines Day weekend. The room was excellent, the grounds peaceful, and the breakfast trumped any brunch!

My review is for customer service as I have not stayed at this location. I reached out to the owner regarding my wedding venue search, and he was very responsive and very helpful. He gave me a very thorough tour and was very accommodating for all wedding needs and concerns. It’s a really charming property with a very interesting history. You should definitely check it out!

This was our first time ever staying at a bed and breakfast and we had an amazing experience! Our room was spacious and had a lovely view of the water and the breakfast was amazing. Matt was very friendly and accommodating, and we loved the mini history tour he provided for us. The greenhouse hot tub was also a very unique and pleasant experience. This place is perfect for couples and has a very romantic atmosphere. We will 100% be coming back the next time we want a romantic getaway

I highly recommend the Monastery at Forrest Lakes. They have everything figured out before you arrive. We could not have ask for one more little detail. My daughters wedding was perfect and the owners went over the top to make sure we had everything we needed!

The owners are just fantastic. Matthew took us to our room and gave us the history of it. Was there for a wedding and was a very beautiful and amazing place. Thanks Matthew for making it such a great weekend for the Waldrons

My husband and I had such a lovely 2 night stay in The Cottage! Oddly enough it reminded us of our first home. Same color scheme and decorative theme and built around the same time. It was a little uncanny but it took us back 21 years ago to that newlywed feeling instantly. The bed was comfortable and has soft sheets. The loveseat in the living room is cozy for snuggling and I like the added touch of throw blankets. The kitchen has all the pots, pans, and utensils you need to make a meal if you choose to do so. The TV has cox cable and we brought a firestick and watched Netflix because the internet is adequate enough. It's an amazing environment. You can't help but feel at peace amongst the beauty of property. We enjoyed fishing on the dock, swimming in large beautiful pool, sitting outside under the stars at night, and taking walks together. The hot tub was simply divine! My husband taught me how to play pool during pur time there and that was a blast! Our breakfast both mornings was incredible. The first morning we had French toast and some of the best scrambled eggs I have ever had and the 2nd morning we had quiche and hashbrowns. Both meals were scrumptious! Visiting with the owners and the other guests was quite enjoyable as well. Make sure to pack your fishing poles, bathing suits, and come prepared to have a wonderful time. The one thing I wish we had packed was maybe a small Bluetooth speaker to listen to music at the pool or in the hot tub. We can't wait to go back! Phenomenal experience!

We had a room rented at this wonderful bed & breakfast for NYE then had to cancel last minute. We decided to rebook on a Sunday and have had the most relaxing time. The Monastery at Forest Lake is nestled in Forest Park, OK on 14 gloriously wooded acres. There is a lake where you can fish, pool during the summertime, year round hot tub, common room with fusbol, pool table, board games and kitchen area. We stayed in the Robert S Kerr room which is huge with the most comfortable bed. Every 3rd Sunday of the month they have musicians that gather in the chapel for a Celtic jam session and we were lucky enough to get to hear them last night. The hosts are most gracious and accommodating. The only thing we regret is not booking 2 or 3 nights.

This was a great place for our honeymoon, very relaxing and private. The staff was great. Matt is very responsive to all our messages. We really enjoyed the hot tub greenhouse and Heather makes the best eggs and biscuits. Make sure you look for sharky the huge catfish that likes to put on a show. We stayed in the bridal suite and it over looks the pond, it’s very private and has a shower big enough for two. We can’t wait to go back

Matt was fantastic, and available to each of our needs. The breakfast is not one like you get from a hotel, homemade quiche, everything was spectacular. Enjoyed the pool and hot tub, was a perfect ending to the day.Thank You again Matt

My wife and I stayed here for our anniversary and we had a fantastic time! The owners are very personable and go above and beyond to make your stay as relaxing as possible. The breakfast was delicious and this is just a beautiful, quiet place to relax. We will definitely be back!

We will definitely be back! The owener and staff are amazing. We had such a relaxing time playing pool, hanging by the fire and chilling in the hot tub. Then we had an amazing breakfast to top it all off. 10 out of 10

After a long weeks work my fiancé and I decided last minute we needed a night away. We found this to be the perfect escape . We called last minute and Matthew was so helpful. We spent the night cuddling by the fireplace and took a midnight soak in the hot tub. Waking up to the view was amazing!! We went for a morning walk and sat down by the lake and simply enjoyed the relaxing view. The breakfast was amazing, it was so tasty and reminded us of an amazing home cooked meal. We will be back soon.

After seeing a write up in 405 magazine, I was excited to check it out! We had a great time...My husband and I stayed here at the RS Kerr suite for our Valentine's Weekend and my birthday celebration. The grounds are just lovely, and Matthew and Sharyn really go the extra mile to make sure you feel like a friend visiting their lovely home, not just a guest at a b&b. They live on the property and they have done a spectacular job redesigning and remodeling this antique home (with a TON of history--that's part of the added charm!) to a wedding chapel, luxury inn, relaxing home away from home. We stayed recently and it's winter, so no pool or outside fire pit for us, but we enjoyed the hot tub in the greenhouse and then a warm up by the fireplace in our suite. Everything was very clean and sanitary--since we are still in Covid that was important to us. We loved playing pool and just having a nice space to relax outside of our room in the common area. Breakfast was great --Matthew brought it up and served us not only food, but mimosas as well, it was a nice way to stretch our little celebration out a bit before heading home. Make sure you take a tour of the wedding chapel and ask about its fascinating history--really the whole place has a story to tell! A walk around the lake after breakfast was a nice way to end our stay. I definitely can see the potential to make it even better than it is, and considering how much progress they've already made in the past few years, I think it's only going to get better and better. Matthew is a dreamer, for sure, you can tell that when you talk to him! He and Sharyn have big ideas and they're working to fulfill all of them! So if you see something isn't perfect, know the next time you come it probably will be...I am looking forward to our next visit in the Summer so we can swim, and take out the paddleboat. Our view from the RS Kerr room was lakefront and the lake is gorgeous--it will be more amazing once everything is green again. And we definitely will take advantage of the fire pit on the deck too. We left Sunday morning making plans to go back, and talking about maybe bringing our staff next time for a retreat there one of these days. It feels tucked away in the woods but is conveniently located right off the highway, 10 minutes to pretty much any restaurant you could imagine, and across the street from a golf course if you are a golfer! Everything about this place has a slow-paced, cozy charm. You really should check it out.

Reserved the chapel to host a dinner party for my wife's birthday with 40 guests and used all 5 bedrooms for out of town guests. Everyone enjoyed the unique structure and history of the building. Beautiful evening to sit by the pond and feed the ducks. Very comfortable bedrooms and a delicious breakfast the next morning. Highly recommend. One note of caution, there are multiple steps around the property that did present some mobility issues.

This place is a little slice of heaven here on earth. We showed up around 6 pm and although the gates were closed we called Matt, and his daughter quickly opened up. Sadie gave us a tour of the Monastery and we quickly fell in love. It was so relaxing and even when we woke up to 4 inches of snow I enjoyed it. Matt had a lot if information about where to go and gave me the history of the Monastery. Vida was also was so helpful. She pulled our car up so we didn't have to walk in the snow. The breakfast here is so much better than any hotel. You have to ask Sadie for her quiche. One of the best I have ever had. They have a chappel for weddings too. So no matter what your reason I would highly recommend the Monastery.

The accommodations were perfect. The rooms are beautifully decorated, clean and comfortable. The grounds are peaceful and relaxing. We enjoyed sitting out on the pier and watching the ducks. The best part of our stay was the hospitality. Matthew and Sharyn are wonderful hosts! We look forward to staying again. Highly recommended!
