Took a bike ride on the paved trails going west from downtown on the south side of the river. Made it past the Dell building and then turned back. The trails were well kept and spoted several maps for walkers or bikers. The view along the way was scenic and relaxing. I only explored this small section and intend to explore more trails later. My experience was good enough to make this positive post and included some pictures. 👍

It has beautiful views of the city skyline and nice calm biking trail. Be wary of the nearby neighborhood. And watch out for broken glass. But it's not as bad as it all sounds. You have to look past the surface of it.

The park itself is perfect, green and wide open. You used to be able to drive down and park underneath the shade tree, but it isn't allowed anymore. That was one of the things that my boyfriend, my children and I would love to do when it was hot: drive down in the park, pick a shade tree, and have a picnic. Sure, you can still do that, but now we have to carry the picnic gear and food from the parking lot all the way to a suitable tree.

It is a clean, friendly and peaceful place to visit and enjoy quiet time. I have been coming here for quite some time now. No problems or harrassment of any kind. I highly recommend this location for any type of singles or family pleasure.

I gave it 5 stars because of all the memories I have of this park over the past 3 years, but 1 star because of the new "regulation": a gate was put up so vehicles can't pull down into the park under the gorgeous shade trees, the business owners in the Stockyards (whose businesses are blocks away from the park) seem to believe they can come down on city property and tell people to leave without PD present, and still having made no arrests etc, nor suspects named involving some of the bodies being found by the river near the park.

It use to be a cool spot to go and hang out. Seen people go and teach the kiddos how to drive as there is so much open space out there. There has always been some homeless people out there that might have a tent or two set up off in the trees or in some of the lots off to the side of the park but I've never seen then bother anyone and it didn't seem like they were hurting anything. Here lately the police have been running everyone out of there.Someone told me they're about to start building something there and that's why they've been doing that but I don't know if that's true or not. Skyline church, I belive that's the name of it. They do a free lunch there every Tuesday afternoon at 11:30 am for the homeless and anyone else that could use a good meal. They usually have free dog food they give away and clothes and shoes for anyone that might need them. Toiletries are always available as well. U always see the same volunteers down there and they're always so nice and they really seem to care.

The playground and splash pad are great and there is plenty of space to ride bikes. Also, I like the view of the river. What I don't like is that there is a lot of trash especially when you compare it with parks close to this one.

Im kinda partial to this area as i worked security for Langstons during the holiday season. I still escape to the parking area by the bridge for the occasional nap between assignments and nobody bothers me there.

At the Agnew entrance it's a seldom crowded, child and pet friendly, place to picnic, play sports, begin that bicycle ride you've been putting off or just relax and watch the river pass by.

Great open space. Great for walking your dog, and just spending time outdoors.

Not being familiar with the area, we walked about half a mile and it seemed to be very sketch. Turned around and walked the other way for a couple of miles and saw several homeless people along the way, one talking nonsense as he walked by us, which made us a bit uncomfortable. Would not feel comfortable walking there alone, which is too bad because it's a great trail.
