I've only been in this place twice- and both time they've tried to snooker me.. First time I was in there I had the glorious experience of buying $252.75 in junk silver. The hired hand rung up the order and tried to charge me $2527.50. When I looked at him funny, he made the excuse that he had read the number on the calculator wrong. That dang decimal point thingy is a hard concept to master! Another time I went in and bought 100 American Silver Eagles. The owner (Cory) pulled out the 5 tubes of 20 and put them on the counter, then proceeded to arbitrarily pick one of them up and give it a puzzled look. "Hmmm, this one feels a little light", he apprised me. So, he dumps the coins out of the tube and sure enough- there's only 19! He was spot on correct. Amazing acumen to know just by feel there was one coin missing.! What an amazing chap- and honest! Or so it would seem.. When I got home and tallied the price of the 100 Eagles, I figured out he had over charged me by $100. There are some that have given this place a good review and I'm happy that you had a good experience, but I haven't been so lucky. These cats are very cunning and practiced at the con, so watch out and don't act like a babe in the woods or you'll get your lunch eaten! Das

I am appalled at how they just tried to swindle me. I came in looking for silver by the gram. Silver is at 80 cents a gram, and they are selling it 2.50 a gram. I then ask about the 90% silver coins. I'm told that its 10x face value. Since the 25 cent piece is 90% silver its 24 cents x 10 With that logic in hand that's $2.40 a coin. 4 coins are then placed in front of me, and I'm told "It's $24 for these 4 coins" I asked again and repeated it to clarify "Its $24.00 for those 4 coins?" "Yes, Exactly. its 10x face value." If its $2.40 a coin that makes 4 of them $9.60. If its 10x face value, it should be no more than 10 dollars. Its 4 quarters. $1.00 times 10 is 10 dollars. You get more business by being honest.

Don’t go here! And if you have to, you better know your EXACTLY what you’re doing and check your math very carefully, slowly, and thoroughly! Cory the owner will act like he’s doing your favor, teaching you, and trying to help you, but in reality he’s only trying to swindle you and take advantage of you in the long run. He’s so crafty and a good actor, you might not realize it until you get to the parking lot. Very dishonest and predatory. Go somewhere else, I implore you! I’ve had a much more honest experience with other stores where employees don’t stand to gain by tricking you with fast talk and taking advantage of your lack of experience. And if you want to call and check daily buy prices elsewhere he will throw a fit, throw your property onto the table and tell you to get out. I wish I could give zero or negative stars.

This place is awesome! Quick friendly service and a large selection of high quality coins. They bought the coins I brought in for the price I asked. No haggling or low balling. I was impressed to say the least. I will definitely do business with them from now on.

I have shopped at Southwest Coin for many years for my precious metal needs. Both the owners are as nice as could be and have always been honest. For several years I only purchased metals and never sold anything. When the time came that I had to sell a little, they gave me the fairest price of all the coin shops in the surrounding area, and believe me, I called every single one of them looking for the best price. Every time, Southwest coin gave me the better deal. While in the store, I have witnessed them helping people people figure out what they had, give free estimates, and in some cases, buying things for the sole reason of helping a desperate person. They are a Christian business and it’s quite obvious when seeing them interact with people. I plan to continue purchasing metals from this shop as they are BY FAR the most reputable shop around. They are even cheaper than some major online websites. I will only do business with Southwest Coin and will continue to be a lifelong customer of this shop as they have never, and will never do you wrong. I highly recommend Cory and Shawna at SW Coin and Currency. They are very knowledgeable about rare coins. I have sold several coins to them and they gave me top dollar for my collection. I have also sold some gold to them and they paid me more than their competition was offering. I would encourage you to give them a shot, you will not be disappointed.

Friendly people but be careful, I was checking out coin cases and some gold bars. He first showed me a 1 gram bar for $52 then showed me a 2.5 gram bar and quoted me $130... After looking at a few more he charged me $152 for the bar. Once I realized I was over charged,I tried to call back but nobody answered the phone. I feel a little ripped off, he fast talked me and got me for an extra $20.

This place was terrible I went in to have some stamps looked at all they did was slightly glance not even take them out of the bag and started over talking me and never let me have a chance to say you what I needed to say, they are there just to haggle people I would not recommend going to these people if you would like to have respect.

I have been collecting coins ever since I was a child. It is a fun hobby, and one that doesn't take a whole lot of time to do, unless one becomes obsessed with it. If you are going for electric, this is a pretty good place to come to find that rare penny or nickel to complete your collection. They have a wide selection of wines to choose from.

we went in to have a few coins looked at and the employees were polite but just were not optimistic or enthusiastic at all . it seemed as though they were just there not that they had a love or interest in what they do. they looked over the coins very quickly and gave us a quick explanation on how they give only 3 cent to every penny that is before a certain year, and gave us a print out on what they look for and buy, they really had no interest in the coins them self just the silver value, they were pretty discouraging to us who just now are getting interested in the collector coin and the fun we have had looking for them. They really need to be more open minded and encouraging to people who come in and are really fascinated by what ever they have found . Maybe if there were more people excited about collectibles then they business would excel and be more profitable .
