I REALLY wanted to fully enjoy this experience. I was incredibly excited about the focus on indigenous ingredients. Alas, there are some definite growing pains. I'll start with the good. The burger is REALLY good and creative. Pickled squash, red onion, and zucchini were really delicious, as was the use of the arugula. The only thing we thought was since bison is such a lean meat, cooking it to medium or medium well would have been a better choice, to keep it juicier. The flavor was definitely there. That said, the pastrami eggs benedict was not a success. First, the poached eggs were completely overcooked, to the point of being hard-boiled. This is not what you want on a benedict. Also, the pastrami was heated on a flat top, making it incredibly chewy. Bison is so lean, I think the better reheat option might have been an au jus. Finally, the English muffin had an off taste and I wondered why not, if there is fry bread in the back, use that instead of an English muffin. Service was friendly but short handed. We had to wait to get more water, and the meal was over before my husband got a coffee refill. Lastly, we wanted salt, but none was at our table and we couldn't get a server to bring us some while we were eating because they were busy. Overall, for creativity I gave it 3 stars, but for my experience, I would have gone with 2. I hope things get better and hopefully I will give it another go.

OKC, you lucky SOBs. What a treat to discover such an extraordinary restaurant and museum. The food was crafted with care and bursting with flavor. I ordered the corn ribs as an appetizer. The presentation was amusing and the taste delicious. They are not to be missed. The BBQ Bison brisket was succulent and flavorful. The bun was perfectly toasted and buttery. For desert, the Southern Crisp Blackberry cobbler. Served hot and crispy. Everything was divine. Check this place out before it’s not a secret anymore.

I like everything about this restaurant including how delicious all the items are that I had to day. Our wait person was fantastic. Her name is Danny and she was informative, friendly, attentive and perfect. Don't be shy about asking about historical realities because you will learn a thing or two at least from her.

"@thirtynineokc is Oklahoma's answer to Modern Indigenous Cuisine" This unique restaurant is located on the North side of the @firstamericansmuseum and admission to the museum is not required to #dine in. 💞 I suggest you take time to do both, visit the #museum and honor the traditional ingredients of the 39 tribes in the Greatest State of #Oklahoma. They also offer #vegan and #glutenfree options. 🦋 Did I mention they have a brunch menu on weekends and cocktails everyday. Who wants to meet me for #brunch? ⚖️😅 Follow me on IG @MariAntonietaJordan for mor around OKC!

Ohmylanta!!! Fresh food prepared exquisitely for the discerning Dinner. Our server was amazing she had been there since the opening so she had longevity and buying plus she did a great job with us. It's very hard to impress me and I don't eat out unless I can't make that dish as good as they can at home. They were top notch even discuss the recipe with me ! A MUST go!!!

It wasn't bad but wasn't spectacular either. They have two different menus and it isn't easy to see which menu is the one you get. The presentation was good. The food was tasty but wasn't anything extraordinary. They didn't have either of the desserts on the menu we received, but they did have a dessert from the other menu. They rang us up for it wrong, though. The server brought us our check without us asking. We had only been sitting for about 35 minutes, and hadn't even finished our dessert yet. While we were eating, she only checked on us once, which we appreciated. After laying the bill on our table, though she came by 4 times in 15 minutes to remind us it was there. We felt very rushed to leave. There was only one other table while we were there, so it wasn't because they were busy and needed the table. Overall, I wouldn't object to going again, but I probably won't feel the urge to go again either.

We went during restaurant week. We made a reservation and had no wait time getting in at our 1 pm reservation. Service was fast and the waiter is very courteous. We ordered the cornbread appetizer with the Bison bacon sandwich and Bison burger. For dessert, we got the Crème Brûlée . The burger had an option to substitute regular fries for the garlic and sage truffle fries. We got those and I highly recommend the substitution. The flavor is delicious and had an extra kick than regular fries. The crime brûlée was amazing, it had a nice blend of flavors, the texture of the granola and pecan flavors with the brûlée added the perfect touch . The cornbread had a nice savory taste with a hint of subtle sweetness. The burger and sandwich are very good as well. Featured pics are the crème brûlée and cornbread

First off, Google Maps is wrong on the drive. Make that first right and go down the road regardless of what Google says. This is a gem of a spot. It's Native American cuisine at it's best. Lunch consisted of green chili corn chowder. The flavors were married AMAZINGLY. It was served on a cast iron skillet. The chowder was thick with a kick. Get the fry bread. It was crisp and hot. It tasted like a zepoli without powdered sugar. I also ordered a bison burger, but I was so stuffed from the chowder that I had to box up the burger. Really glad I found this place. Will come back next time I'm in town.

Nice restaurant inside the First Americans Museum in OKC. It has a variety of Native American food on the menu and it's quality, not normal museum food. Wait staff can be rude as myself and three others were told to "move out of the way" while we were waiting to order at the bar register so he didn't have to walk around us. They seemed to be getting busy but flustered. They also couldn't accommodate minor changes in the menu such as American cheese instead of Swiss, but it's understandable if understaffed, or less qualified is what it seems like. Still a nice atmosphere.

We were VERY disappointed in 39 Restaurant but now we know we will never go back. I should have read the description of the place better. The key word in the description is “Modern” Cuisine. Some of my family is Native. I grew up with them as neighbors, went to school with them, have them as co-workers and friends and this Food reminded us of what Tex Mex Cuisine is to Mexican Cuisine. It’s an embarrassment and doesn’t represent Oklahoma. It only represents the Chefs. One of which is described as Indigenous and an Award Winner. Tourists who go to that Restaurant, who haven’t been around Natives as much as my family have, do not understand that the Restaurant is all hype and no substance. Service wasn’t good either. We ran out of Tea and after several minutes I had to flag down our Server for a refill even though the Restaurant barely had any customers. No more Customers then they had was another sign that despite some of the hyped up reviews it’s not worth the money or the time.

Sometimes a museum can be great but the restaurant… not so much. This is not the case with 39 - both are incredible. I decided to try several items for the Saturday brunch; blueberry pancakes, hominy stew, fry bread and the corn and squash arugula salad. All were outstanding. The pork in the hominy stew was as tender and flavorful as any I’ve ever tasted. The fry bread was a surprise… my only experience before was at the State Fair. This was completely different - dense and rich. I’m not a salad guy but loved the cranberry vinaigrette on this salad! Everything amazing! We enjoyed the heck out of this meal and I’m planning to go back during the week for the expanded menu - Monday they Friday. You won’t be disappointed! This place is excellent; and the museum is incredible and sobering.

Enjoyed a great dinner here on Valentine’s Day. Food was tasty and creative. We spoke with the manager for a while about future plans for the restaurant and the surrounding area. I think it’s a great addition to OKC! Highly recommend. And they have brunch on the weekends! We will definitely be back.

We are a cooking club who took a field trip. Not a single “miss” on the menu; and we purposely tried a variety of items. Atmosphere and expert service were top notch and elegantly “relaxed ” in the execution. The humus and fry bread were the best we’ve ever had. Presentation was organically artful. Gentle nuances of (unfamiliar to us) flavor profiles were most appealing. “Three Sisters” entree, stew, squash soup were unbelievable, in both depth and total balance of flavors. Warm Chocolate Cake and the Creme Brûlée were both fantastic finishes to the meal. Fortunately, there were five of us; and lots of extra spoons for sharing/tasting everything! Quality, fresh food cooked from scratch; talented chefs, lovely staff, comfortable elegance in presentation of appearance and atmosphere. Lovely. Just lovely.

Inside of the First Americans Museum you will find this upscale restaurant. With a focus on using typical ingredients from the 39 tribes that call Oklahoma home, there is a variety of soups, breakfast, and other foods. There is also a full bar, with a number of specialty cocktails.

This restaurant is the hidden gem of Oklahoma City! I’m sure that won’t be the case for long though. The food was absolutely delicious! Get the hummus and fry bread, you won’t be disappointed. The butternut squash soup might be the most unadulterated squash soup I have ever had and I enjoyed it very much. The atmosphere was delightful and our server was excellent. I cannot recommend this place enough! Go eat here right now! A perfect date night experience.

This place is awesome. Both the menus for brunch and during the week are great!. The staff are so kind. And the food is excellent. The wait staff the manager, the plating the taste. Even the space looking out is awesome.

5 star food, A+ service and just an all around good environment. It's something you have to experience. It's not just the food that's good, the vibe is awesome.

Bison burger is simply delicious and is a wonderful alternative to beef. A bit sweeter meat, but the texture and taste of the meat and toppings work well together.

The food was outstanding. One of my tablemates said it was the best Reuben sandwich he's eaten. Another table mate said her turkey sandwich was amazing. I had the corn chowder and dry bread. One of the best soups I have ever eaten. And the fry bread was excellent. Our waiter was helpful in making suggestions, attentive and pleasant. We will go back.

Good place, good food, hard to find and feels really new. The restaurant is hidden in the back of the lobby with almost no signage to guide you there. The place was almost empty, but the staff did not disappoint. We were well cared for and really never had a need that was not addressed as it came up. We went here on a Sunday around noon for lunch and they only had their brunch options available. We were a bit disappointed by this but got their pancakes and turkey pastrami eggs Benedict anyway. The food was great. Everything was well executed and presented beautifully. My biggest complaint about the food was it really wasn't distinct from any other brunch menu around town.

This restaurant is located inside the First Americans Museum. It offers a few traditional foods, like Indian fry bread. A full service bar is available. On the day I visited, they closed at 2 pm so you want to keep that in mind if you are also visiting the museum.

The restaurant was what set this museum above all else. The dishes offered are constructed with love and soul. The presentation is incredible. And it all complemented perfectly. Needless to say, I was stunned. You have to try the creme brulee. It is to die for. Overall the restaurant is one of the top ten places I've ever been
