Great food, good choice, generous portions, really cool staff... With some good playlists and a chilly mood ! And delicious cocktails ! I highly recommand

These tacos are SO good!! Chicken beats beef here as my beef ones were a tad overdone but the chicken tacos, atmosphere and friendly staff make it way better. The flavor is still all there though they were a little overdone. The guac is tasty, and the homemade potato chips really put it over the edge. And the mojitos were so fresh and refreshing. Perfect after a long day on the beach. 10/10 do recommend, will return while on my trip!

Easily the best meals I ate during my 10 day stay in Montanita were at Jaja. There is plenty of variety to choose from, the food is very fresh, the portions are enormous, the price is incredibly reasonable. The service was attentive and friendly and the patio feels like a tropical oasis. Thank you for the wonderful food and hospitality!

Jajá en Balsa in Montanita is a really cool restaurant that is part of a hostel. I loved the vibe and creative use of natural and recycled materials. The pizza was good; thick crust not overly greasy. The hard toast with accompaniments served before the meal was really good. Complimentary self serve coffee and tea. Nice loungy spaces to read, work or chill. Most photos have a blue hue because of blue transparent material used on ceiling.

We stayed at Balsa Surf Camp and loved the convenient location of Jaja. We came by for dinner on our first night in Montañita and loved it so much we came by every night after that! The pizza, salads, and quinoa soup were delicious… but the fish encocado & garlic fish were our favorite. Shoutout to Francisco (who served us breakfasts), Maximiliano (our server) and Maximiliano (the chef) for outstanding service and food!

We stayed 10 nights in the hotel „Balsa Surf Camp“ and had all our meals included in „Jajá“. The food (breakfeast, lunch/dinner) in this restaurant is amazing and is prepared with lots of love. The menu has options for almost all kinds of preferences. From delicious salads to hamburgers, pizzas, cordon bleu, pastas - are some things we would highly recommend. The ambience inside but especially outside on the terrace is very pleasing. And lastly, all the staff in the kitchen and in the restaurant is extremly friendly and obliging and do not hesitate to satisfy special requests. We spent 10 days at this hotel and not once went out to eat at another place. We would definitely come back here if we returned to Montanita. Big thanks to all the staff at Jajá for welcoming us here and for the amazing food.

Jaja is always a pleasure to stop into when we visit the coast. When entering remember you’re at the beach and don’t expect lightning-speed service. The staff is always super friendly and the food is consistently good. They give tasty breadsticks with dipping sauces to start. Meals are huge. Good beer selection, vegan/veg options, and dog friendly which is a plus when you’re always traveling with a dog the size of a human.

Amazing food - muy rica comida. You have to try their home made chilli oil or oil mixes. Balsa never ceases to surprise. This is the 2nd time I've been after a gap of 5 yrs. Thank you Sergio - for your hospitality.
