We booked for 12 people and confirmed it on the phone. Once we arrived, they messed up and had just 10 beds. We proposed them to squeeze in those 10 beds, but we obviously refused to pay for 12 beds. The not-so-smart owner preferred to lose more than 150$ than accepting our proposal

This hostel plays loud music illegally every Wednesday night, keeping everyone, including neighboring hostels awake. Do not stay here if you are a good person. Of course I can leave a rating, even if I wasn't hosted. You play extremely loud music until 7am and disrupt every other hostel around you.

No bueno. Our room was not ready by 3pm check in. It took until 430pm, the room was not clean despite the wait. Dirty, see pix. The lizards and iguanas were cool that hang around. Check out is at noon. The a/c worked well in our room, the sink leaked on the bathroom floor through the pipe. Huge crack in front door let bugs in and I got bit by mosquitoes and a spider. No bug nets here :/ Our sheet was a joke - HUGE dark spot on it. Sheets so thin you are sleeping on a mattress everyone else has slept on...no barrier. Staff was friendly.

The hostel’s owner was pathetic, changed our price after 3 weekends at the hostel and asked for more money, the rooms were dirty and we asked for someone to clean it but it didn’t happen. The kitchen was not suitable to use, we founded a mouse in the oven and the shelves. It’s feel like he doesn’t care about us clients and his answer to everything is “you don’t have to stay here “ Beautiful town but I’m not coming back to this hostel *by the way this photos is a dorms with privet bathroom * I’m traveling so far more then 9 months and no one behaved me like that . It’s a scam ! After you booked to charge more money.

Would not recommend this hostel to anybody coming to Montanita. Got eaten alive by bed bugs while there due to the terrible condition the beds are kept in cleanliness wise. When confronting the owner about this he took zero responsibility and still insisted on me paying for my night in the room, as I had still had access to wifi and kitchen facilities. Came across as straight up money-grabbing at its finest. I'd look elsewhere for somewhere to stay in Montanita. Who wants to pay money to be disrespected?

Louder than a club, dirty, with a creepy agro owner. Avoid and steer clear of it.

Rooms were unclean, bedsheets full of hair and uncomfortable. Bathrooms are dirty.

It's quite a good place to enjoy a different cultural appropriation. So many people from different countries meet here. It's a surf hostal, so you can rent boards at a ver affordable price. The service is quite good. There are game rooms and public bathrooms. The kitchen is huge, so many people can cook at the same time. There's a common area surrounded by hammocks, chairs, sofas... There's also a table tennis area. Amazing place.

The loudest worst experience I’ve seen out of a hostile. The only thing hostle about this is the owner and his gaslighting. I feel bad for all who stay here and even in the surrounding areas. LOUD no chance of rest as music goes from 8-9 P.M. to 7 am easily. And it’s awful music. Extremely redundant, basic and probably only appealing if you’re extremely waisted or loaded. It’s Louder than a club from outside according to the decibel ratings. 92+ decibels even when over 125 meters away your thin walls do nothing.

Private rooms stink, staff member we dealt with claimed that it’s the same on ‘all ground floor rooms in Montanita’ - simply not true from experience of other places. We checked the previous day and it seemed fine, and then on check in we realised right away that it smelled disgusting and spoke to the reception immediately who initially granted a refund based on that, but then retracted it and said we needed to speak to hostel world. Hostelworld told us they couldn’t refund stays that had already checked in, so we didn’t get our money back for the whole stay. We then requested that at least the second day could be refunded, as they could sell the room to someone else if need be, but they declined. Greedy hostel, not willing to settle things fairly, even though they wouldn’t have been out of pocket! Don’t stay here.

It’s okay. Great parties on Wednesday nights with unlimited refills for $6. They have surf rentals for a fair price and the outdoor area is quite nice. Expect to see your fair share of iguana in the courtyard. Rooms are also quite affordable. Service from the staff was mixed. some were quite friendly and others were quite rude. There is a kitchen but it’s not really well stocked and didn’t have anything to light the stove. We were in a 4 person room. It was quite small and there were no fans

Rip off on wednesday night, was kicked out because they didnt want to give change anymore after 01:00. Quite sad as the place had potential

Best hostel for chilling and meeting more backpackers. The hostel got a huge garden with many spots of hammocks, beds, ping pong table and slack line. There is a TV zone outside where you can watch Netflix and so. There is a shared kitchen where you can cook, but it’s a little bit dirty. Most rooms are dorms with shared bathrooms, you can find few private rooms as well. The condition of the rooms isn’t so good, they are very basic, and noisy. Bottom line - recommended.

Fun place to dance on Wednesday and Saturday nights.

Great place if you want to meet other people and have some fun but is not very loud in the rooms. Common area is nice, same as the kitchen, which unfortunately is pretty small.for such a big hostel. Not much space in common rooms.

Really cool place with great people & parties on Wednesday nights. Have been here for a week and we'll definitely stay longer :)

This places is awful in all senses, The hotel is not a good place to stay, the rooms are dirty, especially the sheets, the AC wasn’t working, the manager has a rude attitude, the level of disorganization is very high, I booked weeks in advance and they gave me a room smaller, they charged me the same for that room when they had to give me 60 dollars, however, nobody took responsibility, they accommodated the hotel rules at their convenience so as not to return the money and they were very rude and they didn’t care at all The hotel leaves a lot to be desired, personally I do not recommend
