My favorite Italian restaurant (And I've been to plenty) Homemade pasta, specials are incredible you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Chef is so friendly and always comes around the table with an appetizer on the house and checks in on everyone. One of my favorite dining experiences!

Delicious authentic Italian food with friendly staff. They were able to accommodate our group of 7 without any issues and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. Plenty of delicious options with quite an expansive menu. Desserts were excellent as well. BYOB so be sure to bring a bottle of your favorite wine to go with the excellent food.

Was shopping for trees at Barlows and needed to find the best Italian Restaurant nearby, we searched and if your in south Jersey/ Shore Spano’s no question asked. The hospitality second to None, MR Soano himself greeted us with his charm and delicious appetizers within minutes of sitting! His home made pastas are incredible, Incredible Flounder Oregnata, the zucchini blossoms, I can go on forever! Don’t forget the Olive oil Cake ❤️ dinner for 2 under $100 and we had multiple courses INCREDIBLE

Our friends invited to dinner at Spano’s on Thursday night, we noticed how busy they were at 6:30. The high noise level matched the lively atmosphere with parties enjoying great food! We shared many appetizers including fried zucchini flowers, mussels, meatball sampler. The appetizers came out hot & yummy! A prelude to a wonderful meal. My entree selection was the Spano’s Feast. This was a very large serving which was delicious! The portion was large enough for a take away second meal at home. Remember this is a BYOB place, allowing for the wine or beverage of your choice & budget. Helps to stretch the dining budget too!

Although the restaurant was packed, the staff and spano family helped us get a table and seated comfortably. Owner came over to bring appetizers and greet us. Waitress and staff were very friendly and offered fantastic recommendations. We had the Chicken Parmigiano, Butternut Squash Ravioli, with spicy rigatoni on the side, Cannoli and Vanilla Ice cream to top it all off. Food was fantastic 😋 one of the best Italian spots in Central Jersey, its a must try.

1st time here and it was excellent. I’m local to the area and can’t believe I’ve never been here but by far one of the best Italian restaurants around. Service was great, food was delicious and fresh. Owner came out to each table introducing himself with some small plates courtesy of the kitchen.

Took my wife here for our 30th wedding anniversary. We had a reservation for 7 pm. We were seated promptly. After being seated about 10 minutes, the owner came by and greeted us. He left some amazing tomato salad and another dish. A few minutes later, Catherine, our waitress, came by and took our drink order My wife ordered a non-sweet ice tea and asked for sweetener. I ordered a soft drink. Our soup came out, pasta fagioli, in a timely fashion, as did our appetizer, ARANCINI. Both were excellent. At this time, we placed our order. Twenty minutes passed, and we finally had to ask a busboy for the sweetener. Our waitress hardly ever checked in on our table. It took a good 35 minutes for our main course to come out. My wife's order wasn't right, but she didn't say anything because the wait for the food was so long. She ordered SEAFOOD FRA DIAVOLO, medium. She received sweet. She said it was excellent. I had the SHRIMP PARMIGIANA, amazing. A good twenty minutes went by before we were asked about dessert. We ordered that to go. Our waitress brought us the dessert, with ice cream, and delivered the check. She never returned to take payment. I waited another 12 or so minutes for a member of the staff to swing by and take the check. If this waitress had been even a little more attentive, my wife and I would not have been caught in a deluge walking back to our car. Nice place to eat. Good food. BYOB. Prices are a bit high for the service we received. By the way, they must have known the service wasn't up to par. Our check was adjusted to just our appetizer and main meals.

The whole dining experience was wonderful. The ladies in the front were accommodating, and the waitress was friendly, and the service was excellent. The food was delicious. I hadn't been there in many years, and the flounder oreganata was just how I remembered it. Make sure you make a reservation for any day of the week.

Tried this place for the first time and definitely want to go back the next time I'm in this area. First, the hostess was super welcoming and sweet. We had very late dinner. I absolutely loved the sauce and the Eggplant Parm was one of the best I've ever had. Spaghetti was good but definitely needed more sauce. Aside from the sauce at the top, the rest of the spaghetti was dry. But I asked for extra sauce and they gave it no problem. We also ordered the stuffed artichoke for an app. The artichoke itself was well cooked, but I found the stuffing too be a bit too oily (it's served sitting in a good amount of oil) and wanted more flavor from it. Service was good. What's great about this place aside from the amazing sauce and eggplant parm is that they drop off a bunch of random surprises like freshly made focaccia (which was absolutely phenomenal) or a few hors d'oeuvre size meatballs. The biggest thing that I wished could have been different was the ambiance, specially the acoustics. We were seated near the front, close to the large table by the windows. It was so incredibly loud that I had to nearly yell in order for the person directly across from me to hear me; and I could barely hear myself talk. I was very close to asking to have our table moved because it was really uncomfortablly loud where we were seated. With a few acoustic adjustments like wall panels &/ or ceiling insulation, I feel the space could be much more tolerable/enjoyable. Regardless, I would like to come back to try more of the dishes in this spot. I just might ask for a different table in hopes that I won't have to leave with my ears ringing again. Overall, this place seems like a great restaurant with some quality classic Jersey Italian dishes ...and a lot of love ... which definitely makes it worth another visit.

Last night, four of us enjoyed a fantastic dinner at Spanos. Joe, the owner, introduced himself and gave us a hearty welcome. We were treated to some complimentary yummies including tomato focaccia, eggplant meatballs and a creamy orzo. All were excellent--and I don't even enjoy eggplant. I hope the orzo is a side dish or I can ask for it as a side the next time I go, it was that good. Everybody enjoyed their entrees, which included the Mafalda Bolognese, short rib Ragu over pasta, orechiette with broccoli rabe and sausage, and veal parm. The servings are very hearty, expect to bring home leftovers. I'm not embarrassed to admit I just had some of mine at 8 am! Waitress and bus staff were professional, attentive, and friendly. Finally, Spanos is an upscale yet casual atmosphere, and bonus, if you get a booth, you can adjust your own lighting. Last bonus is that it's on Arnold Avenue amidst all kinds of cool shops. Go tonight, thank me tomorrow. But be sure to make reservations! Buon Appetito! Unfortunately the only photo I have is of my breakfast!

We loved every dish we tried! We were very hungry when we arrived, so we especially appreciated that the appetizers were brought out right away! The atmosphere was great! The restaurant was very busy, but we did not feel overlooked. Service was prompt, and the waitress was helpful with recommendations. Highly recommend if you're looking for authentic Italian in New Jersey.

Top tier Italian joint best in the area In my opinion best make a reservation early otherwise you might miss out. Cozy atmosphere and a warm greeting from the owner not minutes before you sit down really makes you feel at home. Focaccia is amazing and the bread and olive oil is addicting but please save room for your mains I'm begging you. Salads are fresh and well dressed (ceasar was delicious). Mains are amazing I've tried many and have never been disappointed the gnocchi was 10/10 and the seafood ravioli blew my mind. Big portions so prepare to take some home unless you share (for a fee). BYOB so grab your favorite wine and stop by this amazing place

This has been added to my go-to spots for Italian. The food was killer. I had the chicken parmesan and it was a huge portion and delicious. The shrimp with spicy red sauce was also awesome and I don’t even particularly like shrimp. The calamari was crispy and marinara had good flavor. They had something called a spanoli or something. Never heard of it but it worked. My wife got the pork chop which is hard to be done right. The pork was moist even though it was a huge chop. I think they brine it. Spanos is that neighborhood place that lives up to the hype. Come here!

In a downpour on a Monday night we were aimlessly exploring Point Pleasant and stumbled upon Spano’s. We had no idea it was RSVP only or BYOB. They were so gracious and said they’d be able to accommodate us! After about 30 minutes the hostess announced to all of us waiting that she was so sorry for the wait and did we want her to pull the fire alarm to get rid of everyone? LOL. Such a fun and kind way to acknowledge her appreciation for our patience. Kelly was our server and she was terrific! Bread service came first with warm crunchy crust bread and seasoned olive oil. We were presented with complimentary treats from the chef - bruschetta and small squares of focaccia pizza. Then the standard-fare Caesar and fab house salads. The house salad had green and Kalamata olives, banana peppers, cuke, red onion, tomato and fresh greens topped with balsamic vinaigrette. Pastas are made in house. Mine the Vongole with so many clams and a delicious white sauce. His, on special, short rib lasagna had layers and layers of tender pasta, fresh cheese and plenty of short rib. Wowza! Both meals were fantastic! We couldn’t even begin to finish the generous portions. Service was great throughout the meal and the check was presented in a pretty cigar box. We sat near the meat and cheese station where prosciutto hangs from the ceiling and is hand cut on a beautiful old hand cranked slicer. Loved everything about this place! Can’t wait to go back… with a reservation and a bottle of wine. Do make reservations well in advance and do go!! Thanks for a great evening and for accommodating two wet dummies. .

Had another amazing dining experience here at Spano's with my wife. The owner is so nice, staff etc. It's always busy and still it doesn't feel that way after you sit down. The wait staff is always attentive. One day I'll not order so many apps and dinner to actually get to dessert but we always want to try everything. Suggest this to anyone in the area just call ahead for reservations!!!!

Had an absolutely amazing experience! The staff is so kind, and one word describes the amazing food: delectable! Everything was perfectly seasoned, perfectly done and was mouthwatering! It is reservation only, busy on a Monday, when you get seated they give you mini samples along with the bread and olive oil dip. The calamari was amazing, crispy and sweet. It melted in your mouth, so heavenly and perfect. I got the stuffed flounder with veggies, it was beyond delicious. Even taking it home to reheat it was amazing! I highly recommend! The sauce was almost like lobster bisque and it was, mmm chefs kiss. High high compliments to the chef and to the amazing staff! My boyfriend got the steak with shrimp and veggies as well, cooked to perfection and was absolutely Devine. Beyond amazing experience and will definitely be making more reservations in the future.

I had the Seafood Fra Diavolo which was excellent. I had it hot but it comes in mild and medium as well. The hot was pretty hot, it actually made me sweat a little bit. The meal came in a big bowl with a nice lobster tail on top. The sauce was excellent. My wife had shrimp Parmesan which she also said tasted excellent. She had a side of broccoli rabe and that was of course excellent. All the pasta there is made fresh. We had a couple appetizers which of course were excellent. We ended the night with a cappuccino and a chocolate covered cannoli. If you’re in the area and even if you’re not in the area it’s well worth the trip to Spano‘s Italian Restaurant. You have to make reservations because they get busy. We ate outside in the back which was very nice. I highly recommended this restaurant.

Was able to get a last minute reservation for 9pm on a Saturday. The service is always so pleasant and welcoming here. We got Shrimp Molly for an appetizer. And ordered Steak Scampi and Mushroom Ragu with Truffle Burrata(Chef's Special) and had Nutella bread pudding, which is to die for. I can't tell you how much I love this place and would come back once a week if I could.

This is a very busy hot spot here, especially in the summer. We booked well ahead to get a table. We sat out back and the service was swift and friendly. The owner came to greet us and sent a complimentary appetizer over. Our ordered appetizers were also delicious. Main course meals were very good and large so prepare for take home.
