I have a lot to say that I haven’t put into words yet but I will say that my dad and I were there in the June 2022 batch. He posted his review a yesterday and since then it appears that the school has payed people or had fake accounts flood out his honest review trying to warn people about this facility. These recent reviews (and probably most of the other ones) are not legitimate. The most disappointing thing about my experience was that the first two limbs of yoga, non harm and honesty, are not practiced by the people that run this school. We experienced the classic bait and switch technique where we were lured in by false advertising and given a completely opposite experience. It was scary and completely disheartening. The new location was still under construction when we arrived. It was unsafe and not at all the peaceful, serene environment that was promised. This is not the only problem that we had but it was the first. Luckily I was with the most amazing group of students and we came together to demand compensation and make the experience positive. I would have given the school more than one star had I not just come here to see that more dishonesty is being perpetuated by administration. The teachers and chefs are the only redeeming value of this place. I’ve seen it done with other negative reviews so do not be surprised if a reply is given to my review stating that I A: never attended the school or B: was a terrible student and they will threaten to retract my certificate. If this happens I will go to every length to discredit them in the future with higher-up institutions that they are associated with. I went all the way to Rishikesh, India from the United States to get to the source of yoga and deepen my practice and I will not be threatened, discredited, lied about or further victimized by these people. Edit to add: I appreciate the response. I am glad you are working to do better, as stated in some other real honest reviews, more transparency will prevent this from happening again. I did form some solid relationships with the teachers and other students while I was there so it wasn’t all negative, which is why I am adding another star to my review.

I joined the 300 hour yoga teacher training in Rishikesh at Himalayan Yoga Association, it is a very big and friendly school. The entire group, management, kitchen staff, cleaning staff are continuously inviting and warm. The management team helped me with my all the concerns I had as I was a total beginner of yoga. There's an extraordinary variety of classes and events. I genuinely miss the time there and hope to go back for a longer time.

I notice how most reviews are incredibly high so I might stand out with my honesty here. Over all I had an amazing experience and learned so many beautiful things, mostly because of the teachers. However there were a few extra challenges during the training the school should consider as a growing measure and to make some adjustments in the future. It was weird that we had to buy our own toilet paper for three weeks. It should have been communicated beforehand, especially since it’s not so cheap in India. The energy of the management, staff was not aligned with the yoga way of living. A lot of people felt unsafe to cry and release emotionally. They swallowed it in and when you came to the point where it came out you got answers from the staff passing you by; “why are you crying? You should smile”. It looked like they didn’t get the holistic and healing effects that comes along with yoga. When we were in a deep hug and emotional breakdown the staff would still ask us to lift our feet up so they could clean while whistling and calling with people over phone. The moment we got the sound healing I got a little pissed because of the highly importance of creating a safe space when you do sound healing… and the fact that they were so nonchalant with us. Doors kept opening, suddenly they started taking pictures when we were laying in shavasana, without warning us. It felt like the marketing of the school was more important than wanting to make the students feel safe and seen. When we had the intestines cleansing it was a Saturday, so it meant the teachers would go home for the weekend. Some of us had 6 liters of water inside and couldn’t go to the toilet or vomit it.. which was really dangerous. They dealt the situation with a lack of responsibility. So again, we didn’t feel the supportance we actually need during such an intense For the teaching part I missed modification for beginners, especially with ashtanga you should be careful and listen to your body. They should provide more safety and information about the body and possible risks and adjust better during class. Beyond that, the bed’s blanket fell out in pieces, the electricity didn’t work properly, the heaters were broke, the water was warm for three minutes, the street dogs were barking all night. Next time I do a YTT I will make sure I provide myself with more comfort. I was a little bit disappointed because of these extra challenges, the group made it worth it and yoga itself is just magical. So I am really grateful for the experience. I hope the school considers to make some adjustments. From Belgium! 🙏🏼

From the moment we arrived to the moment we left we were met with such great humbling kindness by Vivek ji and his whole team, The staff were so friendly, by the time we left we felt like part of the family. Everyone went out of their way on a daily basis to make sure our individual needs were taken care of and the schedule was adapted accordingly. The treatments we received were many and were all outstanding; Ashtanga teacher Yogi Anil sir was one of my favourite teacher and rest was also good like our philosophy teacher, meditation teacher, hatha & Ashtanga teacher ... Despite our dietary requirements being quite challenging, they made sure to make us something delicious every day. The yoga teachers were very patient, also adapting the pace of the class to meet our individual needs. The bonfire dance in the mountains was simply wonderful and was an experience I will treasure forever. I learned so much and am very grateful to every single person encountered throughout the month.

I took 200hrs TTC here and would never regret this décision. The 2 teachers Bablu and Deepak are the best yoga teachers I have ever studied with. I improved a lot after taking their classes. Bablu teacher helped me to achieve a lot of difficult asana by his patience from Ashtanga and alignment and adjustment teaching skills. I would never thought I would love practicing Pranayama and Hatha yoga until taking these classes by Deepak teacher. He is very experienced and knowledgeable, he could clarify a lot of information about this important breathing technique. Overall the staffs here are very nice and friendly. Food is good. They cleaned the room and changed the bed sheet every week. The course fee is cheaper than lots of school in Rishikesh. Highly recommend to take your yoga class here.

It was an extraordinary experience with Himalayan Yoga Association. I took my 200 hour yoga teacher training course there and everything was totally amazing. The staff always made sure everything was nice and easy to follow, and listed to us whenever we requested something to them. After a couple of days, it started to feel like actually home. I strongly recommend this yoga school if you are looking for a proper, authentic yoga school where you can learn and practice real yoga in a deep level. Real yoga practitioners, this is the place for you.

Astounding course and all the teachers are fantastic. I took 200hrs yoga teacher training and I feel more real about myself and feel more grounded. Everybody at Himalayan Yoga Association is such a beautiful soul and I'm super grateful that I became like a family with all of them. The time I spent there was one of the most precious moment of my life. Gratitude for everyone and everything. The school has peaceful and authentic energy very close to Ubud center. There are 2 yoga shalas that are open-air but at the same time very well-maintained for comfortable learnings. The room is modern and clean, the entire school is like a heaven in nature.

Enthusiastically suggest this yoga school. I can't and don't wanna imagine my time in Rishikesh without Himalayan Yoga Association! The school has such a bright atmosphere with clean environments throughout the campus (I'm very specific about the clearnliness and I am so happy the school was always clean!) and a lot of space to relax and study in the school. It's got a big garden with a swimming pool, sitting areas on every floor.. I joined their YTT for my own sake (not wanting to be a yoga teacher) but then I became devoted into yoga. I truly understood the help I was getting on my process by rehearsing here. It's been groundbreaking and I can't wait to return there one day. Much thanks to the entirety of the group that gifted the wonderful time 🙏🏻

I completed my 200 hour yoga teacher training from Himalayan yoga association, I was looking for authentic yoga learning after quiet research I am so happy I picked @himalayanyogaassociation for my yoga educator preparing. The entire experience was astonishing! The instructors are truly proficient, they share with energy and are really committed to help us learn and develop, all teachers (Sadhu ji, Neha ji, Deepak ji, Manoj ji, Prashant ji) are authentic teachers very quiet experienced which is rare to find out in now a days, they keep authentic approach and that's beautiful, About management team are very nice people, The timetable was occupied however sensible, with a decent harmony among hypothesis and practice. We went on a few journeys, permitting us to find Rishikesh and its environmental elements. Generally speaking, everything was perfect and I would prescribe this school to anybody wanting to do their 200 hrs. I also met beautiful individuals and imparting this month to them was the feature of this experience. I will be back for my 300 hours yoga teacher training to complete my 500 hours yoga teacher in Feb 2024, see you soon 🙏

I spent a month in Rishikesh finishing my 200 hour yoga teacher training and it was amazing. do not have enough words to depict how astounding my time was at the Himalayan yoga association. It is the best yoga school in Rishikesh with best yoga teachers, Each and every teacher I had was totally exceptional; in addition to the fact that they were each very proficient about the subjects they teach, The food and staff were similarly perfect, serving heavenly food, I really got a lot more out of the experience than I might have at any point trusted and was genuinely submerged in a yogic way of life. I enjoyed my time at Himalayan Yoga Association and will totally be returning here for my 300 hour yoga teacher course, can't wait to be back, thanks to whole HYA team.

I completed my 200 hour teacher training in Rishikesh here, and it was the best choice I made this year. All the teachers are so knowledgable in what they teach, and they all seem so authentic, like real people, which is rare to meet so many real people at the same time nowadays! The food was all vegetarian and very tasty, even though I am not a vegetarian person, I enjoyed the food a lot, which is actually a surprise to me. Each class is constructed very well and even though I was in the classes with yoga teacher training course people, the teacher made sure I was always comfortable and having a good time. This retreat reconnected me with my body and nice feelings, and made me want to live day to day with yoga practice. Come here and experience yourself, you will appreciate yourself for the decision.

What a wonderful place is the Himalayan Teachers institute in Rishkesh!!! The staff and students are a joy! The place itself is clean and comfortable. The institute maintains a well structured challenging program that includes well placed side trips and breaks for the 100, 200, and 300 hour certification students. Rishkesh itself is the birthplace of yoga, I received absolutely everything I came here for. Thank you 🙏 Namaste Coreen (Mata Ji)

I enrolled for HYA in month of September 2022 and my experience with The Himalayan Yoga Association has been Amazing! Located at brinks of Ganga river and away from city it was calm environment. The teachers and chefs are the redeeming value of this place, especially my mentors Bablu ji & Sourav ji have been very supportive and genuinely friendly in helping me achieve my completion of 200 hours yoga teacher training. The way of teaching is so beautiful and deep explaining the philosophy about yoga by Soumya ji. For some session there was quite disturbance as the place was under construction at the time of my batch as they were expanding, so hence it was not quite peacefully as carpentry work, wall paint smell was in the way also neighboring building was also constructing. Quality of food was excellent and had variety for every for Indian & non India and staff was very generous to give for extra demands/ that was not in the menu for the day. The excursion and beach yoga is a plus point that they offer us. Looking forward for 300h.

Yoga at Himalayan yoga association was a great experience for me. I started my training in November and since then I have observed great improvement in my practice. Bablu sir’s practical class was in-depth and interesting. He pushed me towards achieving my goals. And he is always there to guide you and answer all of your doubts. The video lectures are to the point and informative which makes it easier for beginners also to understand and grasp the concepts. Thanks to everyone and also fellow students in this Yoga journey. All the best.

I came to Himalayan Yoga Association for my 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training and can't find and downside for this school for anything. The staff and all the teachers exceeded my all expectations. The vegetarian food they served was fantastic. The cleaning team works a whole day every day to make sure all the areas are so clean including our bedrooms. They provided us so many events and special classes, I never imagined a YTT can be so busy with so many fun events! This school goes beyond what they have to provide according to the certificate requirements to gives you the best time. I appreciate all about Himalayan Yoga Association, thank you so much.

I did my 500 hour yoga teacher training In Rishikesh at Himalayan Yoga Association and I don't think I could have ever picked a better school. It took me quit long to post a review here, but I see the value I had more obviously now by being away from the school and be back home. The area of the school and the accommodations are extraordinary. Very peaceful and clean, it was a perfect space to totally relax. The food was so satisfying. On top of that, the kitchen team was so lovely! They ensured all of us were happy with the foods. I began teaching yoga asanas and now I'm super appreciative for the extraordinary time I was given.

The time at Himalayan Yoga Association was fantastic. I was living a fast-paced life and felt so stuck in daily business, the 12 days I spent at this beautiful place showed me how to live happily, be honest with my real feelings. how to live life from now on. Be ready to face the realness inside you and the daily physical practice with disciplined schedule. The friendships I made here with the teachers and the students are gifts to my life. All the teachers are so real, and the way they taught us yoga was in such authentic and practical approaches. I'm not really a spiritual person so the realistic and authentic way of their approaches really clicked with me. I didn't know yoga is something like this, I finally understand yoga and how to practice it everyday from now on. I would definitely recommend Himalayan yoga association, even if you have no idea what yoga is right now, you will enjoy learning here a lot❤️

Such a beautiful place. The teachers are all empathetic and knowledgable, they are all living realistically, not intending to give you a dreamy or illusionary images of yoga but authentic and grounded approaches towards yoga, I loved that so much. I got to learn yoga in a very practical way without losing the traditional yoga teachings so I have been living with yoga practice even after having finished my 200hr course. It's been a couple of months since I finished the course, and I am living the happiest states in my life. The time I spent at the Himalayan yoga association really changed my life. Thank you so much for everyone at this magical school and all the people encountered me there. See you all soon. Love.

I am from Delhi, and I have stayed at many hotels in Rishikesh but trust me, it is not easy to find such a high quality accommodation and the service with this or even higher price. I took one week yoga retreat with Himalayan Yoga Association, and it was the best stay I had in Rishikesh after so many visits. The people working there are super sweet and always helped me with kindness when I asked anything. I had tried some yoga classes before but nothing was like what I experienced during my yoga retreat. The whole concept of yoga changed for me. I cannot thank enough to the whole team for the beautiful time. I will definitely come back.

I just finished my 200hrs in January and the overall experience at HYA was beyond my expectations, and these are not easy to attend normally, so I would totally recommend the school. From the teachers to the general service staff everybody did their best to give us a great experience and I really appreciated their efforts. Special shout out goes to the school manager Rajesh Sharma that properly followed up on every individual need and request, without loosing sight of the group necessities. The food was good and the staff accommodated our requests several times as well, something not to give for granted. The school is average half an hour tuk tuk ride away from the lively centre of Rishikesh, which for me was a total PLUS, because I could be focused on my journey without many distractions.
