This hotel has a great location in relation to activities. The service was very friendly and prompt. The hotel felt more like a work trip than a getaway destination. The room layouts were average at best. They were clean and maintained. It may be time to update this hotel, add restaurants, and other amenities

This is a decent hotel in a convenient location. The rooms are what you’d expect from a big hotel chain but it was hard to justify the price for our 2 night stay. The rooms and pool could use some updating and the elevators are slow. The service was great though, especially the front desk and valets.

I enjoyed my stay for the most part, but one thing left a bad impression. I had a package delivered and when I asked for it at the front, the clerk made me sign an invoice. I was charged $5 to be given my package. When I inquired about the reason for the fee, she said it was a "shipping fee." I told her that I already paid the shipping, but she didn't budge. I found this tacky. It made me feel like the stay went from an "experience" to a "commodity." Additionally, there wasn't anything on the website communicating this policy.

Terrible service, poor management. Stayed overnight - even though we live close - as attending a big event. I am an Elite level member but could not avail services exclusive to Elite members. WiFi did not work in my room and despite communicating this several times, it did not get fixed. We paid 32/- dollars for a Valet service for our car, but in the morning while leaving, we waited for more than 45 minutes but no car. Eventually I had to get my own keys and got to the garage and take the car on my own. There were a large number of people like us waiting for their cars - no fault of the valets as the 2 of them were overwhelmed - simply poor management. All of us paid for this dis-service. I would assume that if as a manager you saw a large number of disgruntled customers just milling about waiting for their vehicles, someone would come around to address the situation, but nothing like that happened. I presume that this maybe a one-off incident but when I spoke with some of my friends later, I was told that initially overseas employees/managers from their company used to stay at this hotel when they came in for meetings/conferences. However due to poor service they all changed their preferred hotel. I reckoned it was a pattern and not an isolated incident. I guess the location of the Hotel is what is letting it survive, definitely not their service. This is Not a Hotel I would recommend to stay. It has a good convention center, so good to hold big events but stay is not recommended.

My wife and I stayed a night to celebrate our recent wedding. When we checked in, our room was not ready and unable to be used. The staff kindly gave us a room on the 14th floor. Awesome! Or so we thought. However, as we were walking down the hall loud music and noise could be heard. When we reached our room we found a loud party in the room next to us. We went down and requested if we could get another room. Again, the staff kindly went out of their way to help us and gave us a room on the 4th floor with a nice waterway view. The room we finally received was nice but had a few cleanliness issues with dried dark stains on the carpet and hair in the tub. Overall we had a good visit, the main issues were just getting the room squared away and cleanliness. The staff went out of their way to help us and salvaged an overall okay stay.

Great place to stay at while visiting The Woodlands. Staff were friendly. The morning breakfast and coffee were a nice thing to wake up to. The lobby had computers, lounge chairs, fresh fruit water and fruit. The only thing that could improve is the room service. Our beds weren't made out of the 5 nights we stood here. I'm not sure if that's a Hyatt or Texas thing. It's minor, but every hotel I've ever stayed in, the beds were always made. Overall, we had a great experience and would consider staying here again next time we're in town.

My employer has all of their banquets here in the ballroom. The place is nice, but seems a little dated not as nice as Cityplace Marriott in Springwoods. Food was 'ok'. The servers were friendly and helpful. They served and cleaned up without being intrusive. The down escalator has been broken for months.

First of all, the location to the Cynthia Woods Pavilion is 🤌🏼. Parking is wonky. There is no way I would park myself, so we spent the $34 for valet! The employees are all super nice! The restaurant has some excellent food! The waterway in the back is so nice and relaxing. Romantic 💘 too! The area can get absolutely insane if there is a big concert next door. But the staff are very knowledgeable and can help with any questions! Unfortunately our room was not up to par. The toilet paper in the restroom only had a quarter left and frankly, that’s disgusting! The shower had soap or some foreign substance on the glass 🤢!! The countertop had toothpaste on it. The comforter on the king size bed had what looked like dirt or maybe sand when you pulled it back. Thank God we bring our own blankets (but always check for bed bugs 🐜, hey, that’s really a thing). The floor had huge red stains everywhere. I thankfully always bring Clorox wipes with me and Lysol, so I cleaned a little and we went to dinner. When we arrived back at the room, we noticed the toilet was stopped up and started to overflow! We called down and eventually 2 men came and fixed it. They were talking amongst themselves that they get calls all the time for this toilet. We will most likely stay at a different hotel next visit. We do not have time to complain and move our bags to a different room when we travel with an itinerary.

We live in Humble and needed to get-away for a few days and The Woodlands was the perfect selection! The Marriott Waterway was just amazing! We had a view of the "river" and watched the sunset from our window. Room was HUGE! Very clean rooms and common public areas. The area is very walkable - mall, restaurants, shopping, hiking trails. "Smart" TV in room. Clean ice machine. Comfortable pillows, clean bathroom.

We had a fantastic stay here! Hotel was upscale, was in a safe area, and impeccably clean. The hotel is right on the river walk and a 5 minute walk to the mall on well maintained sidewalks. Restaurant and Starbucks downstairs for convenience. Loved the little details like a makeup mirror and recycling bins in the rooms! Blackout curtains were great, and there was plenty of room to lounge.

Very disappointed in company policy and customer service at this location. My family experienced an unexpected personal emergency 24 hours before our scheduled 1 night stay. The hotel management was unwilling to provide any sort of understanding or empathy during an already difficult day. I have never experienced such poor customer service. If there is a chance that you may have an emergency don’t bother booking here.

This was my first time staying here but I’m not surprised they were “voted the number one hotel in 2023”. The staff was very courteous (they even remembered speaking to my husband when he said who he was at check in). We stayed in the presidential suite and there are zero complaints from me about the room. I was pleasantly surprised that there was a kitchen area in the room (no stove) with a full sized refrigerator and everything! The room was very clean and spacious. We were also surprised with a goodie bag that was left at our door from the hotel. The location couldn’t be better. It was walking distance from a movie theater and just a few minutes from several shops. This hotel didn’t have a concierge lounge but they had a “pantry” we had access to where there were drinks and snacks available and we had the option of points or free breakfast at their restaurant. From the restaurant you had options too! You could pick from their menu or enjoy their buffet spread (we went with the buffet). Overall, 10/10 would recommend and stay here again.

Top notch experience. Ling Ling was amazing. She welcomed us, checked us in, shared all the amenities both in and around the hotel. For late snacks we were helped by Trinity who was quick and kind. Every employee at the hotel we encountered was so nice and friendly! Enjoyed dinner close by, a water view. Will definitely revisit!

Fantastic location with tons of options that we could walk to. The event space was incredible, there are not many locations that can accommodate a group of our size. I really appreciate you letting us pretty much take over the hotel for the week.

My wife and I stayed here for a business trip. Upon arrival the room was not as clean as expected. We had hairs on our pillow and in the bathroom. The overall cleanliness of the room seemed suspect and we were uncomfortable throughout our stay. When we attempted to log onto the WiFi it was a whole ordeal and apparently if you are not a Marriott member you have to pay for WiFi access. Luckily we were members so eventually we were able to log in. I have never had so much trouble logging in at any other hotel I have visited. We ordered room service and it arrived quickly and the quality of the food was excellent. My wife's conference was scheduled to end around 3 and we requested a late checkout, but were told that it would cost us $40 per hour to extend our stay. Not good business practice in my opinion. The next time we are in town for business we will choose a different hotel to stay at. Disappointing experience for one of the largest hotel chains in the country.

Positive: -Beautiful accommodations -Especially welcoming and friendly front desk staff (Ling Ling) at check in Negative: -No microwave in room -Non-working refrigerator had to be replaced -Hotel restaurant experience was horrible. It was confusing where we were to go to have lunch, where to order, and who to ask for a menu. I went to the bar to ask. The server who took our order was not welcoming and seemed to be bothered by my asking about ordering. The flatbread pizza was not enjoyable. The crust tasted like it had been frozen, and was too " heavy" with cheese. She didn't check on us to see if we needed anything. My son went to the bar area to place an additional order, ans came back in tears because she was so unapproachable. Very disappointing. I was dissatisfied with the entire dining experience here, and we did not return.

Not comparable to other 4 star hotels and hard to justify the cost for the following reasons: - check in and check out is a hassle. I waited in a very long line despite having done the pre check in… what’s the point of that if it doesn’t save time? Front desk was understaffed for a rush period. - the parking situation is ridiculous - bell hops were overwhelmed and flustered, but they insisted on loading my luggage on a cart only to leave it sitting in the lobby for 20 minutes after telling me it would be no more than 5 minutes to get it to the room. - rooms are not worth the cost (nor at a 4-star standard) and bathrooms are tiny. - staff was overwhelmed, unhelpful and unfriendly. I would not have been so inclined to write a review had they handled things with some composure and organization. Seems like the Waterway Marriott leans on its convenience of location to justify a 4-star price tag for an otherwise 3-star experience. That being said, I can’t think of a reason to recommend this hotel unless you really need the convenience of proximity to surrounding amenities (market street, waterway, pavilion).

Beautiful building decorations ready for Christmas the day after Thanksgiving. The view at night of the waterway is awesome. The resort has a spa available and a restaurant for buffet. It's located in walking distance to the Cynthia woods Mitchell pavilion, the park garage between the two buildings is free and is connected by a skybridge on the 4th floor. The staff Is friendly and eager to help and also super informative.

To start with, We like nice hotels. But nice hotels are not always nice. This hotel, however, is perfect. The service is exceptional, and this is from each person. The breakfast buffet is beyond perfect. The iced tea, which is my thing, is awesome. The location is amazing and there is a lot to do nearby. We love this place.

We have stayed here before a few years ago and it has gotten better since. However we expected the breakfast to be included as advertised and it turns out is not unless you are an upper tier Marriot member. I recommended the buffet, $23 per adult and $11 for kids and it was worth every penny.

5 star goes to the director or front office Matthew Edlin and his team who resolved a few house keeping issues with sincerity and professionalism. check in and check out was very smooth. I would stay there again.

I was trying to book a room for the last weekend in June, and accidently booked it for last weekend in July. I immediately called (within the same hour of booking) to ask to change the reservation, as I booked the wrong dates. They were VERY clear that there are NO REFUNDS. So they cancelled my room AND kept my money... Mind you, this was over a month in advance of the booked stay, and within an hour of booking... I'm a Marriot Bonvoy member and travel A LOT. Needless to say, I'll be looking for a new hotel chain to stay with.

Beautiful hotel with a swanky feel. Room are very nice, very clean. Ample space for storing items. Stayed in 1 King, 1 Queen with waterway view. Several dining option in the hotel and within walking distance. Easy access to 45 and all that The Woodlands have to offer. Update 3/19: We returned to this location to stay for baseball tournament. Rooms were nice and clean, but this non waterway view room only had a tub and not the nice shower like the waterway view room we stayed in previously. We were happy to find that they had a washer and dryer on site to be used by guests free of charge, only down side was the washing machine spin cycle wasn't functioning which created a bit of a situation. Detergent and dryer softener sheets were free also. We ordered room service for breakfast, it was ok. We had to have two of our three orders remade as we had requested our eggs over easy with a runny yolk which they were not, but they fixed the orders and was able to get them back to us quickly. While this may seem a bit picky, for the price of $67 for breakfast, I am getting what I ordered, how I wanted it. I am dropping one star from 5 to 4 as I expect more from a high end hotel.

  • 5/5 Amber H. 11 months ago on Google
Wow, this is the best place I've ever stayed at. The price is a bit expensive but worth it because the quality of it all. We stayed in a room with a king and a queen which were both amazing. The people at the front desk were awesome as well.

I recently stayed at this hotel while working backstage at a bodybuilding show being held in their large ballroom. This is a beautiful hotel with great service. It sits across the street from Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavillion and also across the street from Woodlands Mall with many restaurants nearby. The room was very comfortable with excellent bedding and pillows. Even though there was a concert going on across the street, you cannot hear the music inside the hotel. The room was nice and quiet. Another nice thing is that there is actually a free parking option connected to the hotel which is rare these days. One of my pet peeves about hotels these days is the audacity they have in charging self-parking rates of up to $49 or more per night after you've already paid plenty for a nice room. Unfortunately these practices are unlikely to stop as they know people don't have a choice but to pay for the parking and they can make that much more money from you because of that lack of choice. Again...this hotel doesn't prey on the customer like this and offers a convenient free self-park option. I highly recommend this hotel!

Wonderful experience! Took a short one night break, to relax and enjoy some quiet. This hotel was perfect! Courteous staff, beautiful surroundings with fun good restaurants near by. Great in room service and good drinks from the bar.

  • 2/5 Rajeeb D. 1 year ago on Google
While the room looks nice and clean there is no sound management and you can hear everything. My other issue was the checkin process that set the tone of this stay. All of my staff was able to check in quickly but I was stuck with Marco. He proceeded to touch my license while I was holding it for him. No need for that. Then he asks for proof I work for my firm. None of my employees were asked, just me as an owner. He told me if I didn’t have it, I would be charged the going rate. Our firm is probably one of the largest customers of the hotel chain and we use a travel agent to book. I have never been asked to prove I am with my firm. This was also a weekday and the Woodlands is not a place I would expect to be a vacation spot for folks looking for leisure over work. Overall very disappointed. I know next time I will choose another hotel.

I recently visited the Woodlands Waterway for a gala event at the hotel. I was extremely impressed with the hospitality I received during my visit. Liz at the front desk was exceptionally hospitable and respectful. Very kind, understanding, and willing to assist me how she could to make sure my needs were taken care of. This hotel is very lucky to have a great front desk staff. I hope to return to the Waterway Marriott soon!

Every staff member I encountered, from the valet to the check- in were very welcoming from the moment I arrived. The location was perfect, therefore I didn't have to worry about driving anywhere. The only thing I would say needs a little improvement would be the cleanliness of the rooms/restrooms, over all I would say it was a 5 star stay!

This is a beautiful hotel. Great location right on the water way. The bar has a great selection of drinks. And super friendly staff. The room was nice, awesome shower, but the bed is very uncomfortable. Unless you like an extra firm bed.

This hotel is very nice and the staff is friendly. They are accommodating if you need anything and the facility is clean and well kept. The hotel offers beautiful views of the water as well as rooms directly on the water. The hotel has adjoining conference rooms and a restaurant on the main floor. The restaurant serves food and alcohol. The staff there was very friendly as well. In addition to everything on site the hotel is within walking distance ( about a 10 minutes) of Market Square which has a ton of different shops, restaurants, a movie theater, and addtional conference centers.

Upon checked in the room, we found a left over food to go box inside of the refrigerator. When we mentioned this to the front desk manager he handled it very well with sincere apology. Other than that, breakfast was nice cook with fresh ingredients and staffs provided professional service. Overall, we received a good impression about this property. We'd love to come back.

The Waterway Marriott is such a pristine and accommodating hotel! The overnight staff were so kind and helpful. The amenities are abundant; I enjoyed the treadmills in the gym area a lot. The single king bed rooms are SO pretty and the halls were nice and quiet through the night (I had arrived pretty late and was thoroughly pleased with this aspect). One really awesome stand-out point was that the front desk had fliers ready at check in with so much helpful information on it, including the times that hotel renovations could be heard. I highly recommend taking advantage of the mobile Marriott Bonvoy member benefits and choosing this hotel as a place to stay!

Our company rented a conference space and a block of rooms for a global Sales Summit. Very attentive staff and the set up was good. The photo is a plate from the Italian lunch buffet set up. The food was prepared well and flavorful.

This is definitely one if the better Marriotts I have stayed in. Everything about this location speaks, and smells clean! Not often that the lobby smells wonderful, and the rest of the hotel and rooms are to follow. The room was clean and had different decor than your standard hotel room, it was nice to have something a bit different. The staff is excellent and really nice. Great location within walking distance of plenty of great restaurants and a large mall. Beautiful views now matter what side if the hotel you’re on. Overall, a great stay.

This is THE most incredible hotel & staff we have EVER experienced! The staff at the woodlands waterway are not just friendly/welcoming, they go above and beyond for their guests! ***They deliver the “wow” EVERY SINGLE TIME we stay here.*** We celebrated our anniversary this weekend and my goodness did the staff outdo themselves. We had a fruit/cheese plate & wine delivered to our door within an hour of arriving - so thoughtful & special! Hands down the BEST views of the woodlands waterway. The rooms are gorgeous, extremely clean and THE BEDS- most comfy beds you’ll ever snuggle into. There truly is no comparison, if you’re looking for an incredible stay, THIS IS YOUR PLACE.
