Awesome place. Beautiful location. Very friendly and helpful staff and owners. Had the best nights sleep in a long time. Very comfortable rooms. The attention to detail goes above and beyond anywhere else we've stayed. Would highly recommend a visit. Shame our stay was only for one night.

Friendly and welcoming. Fantastic high quality accommodation, beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean and very comfy. Had enjoyable couple nights in self catering cottage which has everything u would need. I had a wonderful stay and its in glorious location, highly recommend.

We were recommended to Bessiestown and what can I say, this is by far the best bed and breakfast there is. If only others were like this. Bessiestown puts these 5 star hotels to shame the rooms are outstanding and the breakfast is brilliant too. A big thank you from all.

Great couple of days spent here. Beautiful accommodation, very clean, breakfast excellent and presented well. Hosts and staff were friendly and very knowledgeable about the area and places to visit. Would stay here again, as it deserves its 5 Star rating.

We had a lovely overnight stay at Bessietown. Our room was beautiful, comfortable and very well equipped. Breakfast was fabulous, beautifully presented and tasty. The property is in a beautiful location and our hosts were welcoming and very helpful. We'll be back

Our requirements were outside of the normal tourist scope as we were acting as safety Marshals on the Roger Albert Clark rally, Margaret and John were flexible and accommodating of our needs and were able to provide facilities which meant we were able to feed ourselves on returning from the stages. We were only able to sample the breakfast on our last morning, which was a great shame as we realised what we had missed on the previous 2 mornings 😟. The interesting extras were added by storm Arwen and in no way the fault of the owners. We were only too happy to help run the cables from the generator to the main building, if only so we could have a shower and thaw out. Stunning setting, I intend returning with my infinitely better half for her photography hobby and I would certainly stay here again for the rally.

I can't recommend this place enough. Had a lovely night. 10/10

While touring Britain, our small group spent 2 nights at Margaret and John's delightful country guesthouse. Everything was perfect.... The accommodations, the surroundings, the excellent meals and especially the attention. They were especially attentive to our needs. The stay with them was the highlight of our trip. Not very often I give 5 stars but I can see why this place has earned it's 5 stars. Very welcoming, friendly and helpful hosts. The property is immaculate throughout and the room was very, very comfortable. During the evening I sat in the lounge area and read for a while which was nice and relaxing. The hosts welcome you to enjoy the property and not stay locked away in your room and what a wonderful property it is. The surrounds make for a very peaceful night's sleep. Breakfast was fantastic, quality food and lots of it. The coffee was the perfect blend and the hosts checked on me a few times. I really felt welcome here and enjoyed my stay. Deserving of the 5 star award. It's places like this that always make me think twice about booking typical chain hotels as you can find some real independent gems out there. Highly recommended.

Margaret and jack were marvellous hosts nothing to much trouble bedroom was delightful fantastic nights sleep. Stayed a week breakfast was perfect right down to the butter knife. Conservatory was so comfortable didn’t want to leave it. A week is not long enough. Thank you so much for everything. Nothing was to much trouble for everyone. ❤️ 11 out of 10 🙏 Delightful room

A most restful, welcoming place. CIrca 15mins off the M6, this is an infinitely better option than a soulless chain on an out-of-town development. Graham came out to meet us with the warmest greeting as we parked up, gave us a quick summary of feudal clan history as we looked out over the valley and then carried our cases in. The accommodation was simple if not a little twee for my liking (suited my wife but felt a bit like visiting my Mam's in the 80s). Bedroom was spacious and the setting had no light invasion at night hence conducive to a good sleep in a solid bed. Atmosphere was still warm at breakfast. Evidently people keep coming back as some were known personally to staff (or were they owners, we couldn't work out). Breakfast was good. Bacon a little over-done. Never seen a tressle before to rest the butter knife on so as not to get placed on the white table cloth. Worth finding instead of staying within earshot of the hum of the motorway.

Excellent room, staff and breakfast. Beautiful location.
