The best fillet steak I have ever eaten was at this great little find in York. It's only a small restaurant with a small number of tables so would recommend booking in advance. The service was laid back but we were not in a rush. The food was excellent and we would definitely visit again and recommend this lovely little place. The price was also great, £25 for a fillet steak with 2 sides.

Really great find in York! Very friendly and welcoming service. Not an over elaborate menu, but the dishes were superb. Would definitely be returning and recommend a visit. Make sure to book as limited tables for more exclusive service.

First time visiting, great food and attentive service. Lovely atmosphere even for such a small venue. We had to postpone our booking at the last minute and it was no problem.

I cannot express enough how amazing this place was! The food was unreal! Steak melted in my mouth, every single dish was so full of flavour, the prices were very reasonable for the quality of the food! Then the staff! The server when we visited was amazing! He usually works in the kitchen and was serving on the evening we visited- but he was brilliant! Service was great, his customer service skills were fabulous and really added to the whole experience drastically! I really hope he gets his refurb done in the coming weeks and that it is all worth it! A beautiful, very small, independent restaurant, but I will certainly be returning the next time I visit York! I urge everybody to go, get booked in, and have a beautiful evening there! ❤️

Absalutely outstanding steaks. I had the mixed grill that was completely perfect. The venue is small and that is the reason it's so perfect. Very personalised and unique. A couple more things on the menu for non meat eating, my wife had the fish which was also delicious. Homemade chips would go down well also but hey they are just suggestions. What a place. An absolute must. Front of house chap was brilliant also, nothing was too much.... Thank you so much for an awesome evening

We went for the fixed menu and the star of the evening was the beef cheeks. Let me just say oh my God they were amazingly awesome. The sticky toffee pudding was so light. Definitely our new favorite place to eat and we will be back. The staff are really friendly as well.

Definitely one of the best steaks I've had (I chose the porter house, but by all accounts the others were great too) and great value for money with the 2x sides that come with it - pleased the whole group after a long day at the races. We were very impressed how well the staff did even though they were down 2 people! Will definitely come back!

A wonderful evening at the corner grill house. A small friendly local restaurant with a lovely atmosphere. Everything is locally sourced and is amazing quality. Cannot wait to return!

Beautiful mid week meal last week. We shared a platter for starters which came with some lovely bread for mopping up all the tasty sauces-I particularly loved the creamy prawns. We'd then all chosen steaks for mains which we all decided were completely delicious. Super friendly service from the attentive waiter all made for a great experience - fab all round!

Absolutely fantastic meal and atmosphere! We ordered the salt aged porter house and the rib-eye, both of which were beautifully cooked and very flavoursome. I highly recommend the truffle and parmesan fries and the creamed leeks as sides. I live in York and eat at a lot of the restaurants, and for me this was a stand out experience.

Top quality food, best steak i have probably ever had and cooked to perfection, great flavours from the grill on the steak too, however a side of grilled broccoli would of been amazing. Cant wait to come back.

Beautiful small restaurant serving fantastic food. Excellent service from friendly owner. Food was very high standard, with some amazing flavours. Deep fried Brie was exceptional and the mushrooms that my wife had were the best. Steak and duck cooked to perfection and the most amazing Baileys cheese cake to follow. Highly recommend this restaurant for food and value for money. Amazed that the bill came to less than £100 including a bottle of wine.

Small but homely restaurant, polite lady serving on tables. The food was first class, good chef. Best to book table, as being popular place. Some meals are nice and spicy, my wife and I had prawns with spicy sauce with bread., then we had chicken with creamy potatoes, carrots covered with a red wine sauce. But you can order steak, and chips with side salad. There is a good variety of choice. I recommend.

What a fantastic find this place was! The whole experience was just fantastic. From walking through the door to leaving, we enjoyed every second of it. We both went with the guy out front of house's recommendation of venison with a nice bottle of red and we weren't disappointed. Absolutely stunning meal, definitely the best I've had in quite some time! Five stars just doesn't seem to be enough!

This is a real gem of a Restuarant. I chose it randomly from a Google search. I am so very glad because the food was the best I have tasted in decades. I can recommend this restuarant, try it you WILL love it. Great customer service, attentive and its personal service tailored to you. Go!!

I’ve been to York for 3 times and the very first time to try this restaurant. Foods are very nice in a reasonable price. I will highly recommend the seabass and loin. This is a MUST-TRY restaurant when you visit York!

Marek looked after us this evening and was fantastic . So were the other staff and accommodated us no problem when we rocked up starving with no booking. Brilliant service, cracking food, nice wine. We made an excellent choice for our first meal out on our York holiday. Will definitely be back!

This is an amazing place to visit. Great service. Food out of this world, waiter did a special set menu for us even though it wasn't the correct day. Small with great ambience. Understand they are moving to bigger premises in the centre of the city. Hoping they will still be as good

Really good would defenitely go back. I had steak Diane from the set menu as really was spot on. Mine was perfect my partner had from the normal menu and his steak was great but the amount of fries and veg he ordered was really not enough. I had lemon posset for afters and t was absolutely gorgeous. If my partners portion of sides was better it would have been perfect. The rose wine was really good quality a6perfectly chilled. Good service.

Very welcoming place, great staff and excellent meal. Didn't have too long to wait between courses which is a nice change. Would recommend having a meal here there is nothing not to enjoy. (NZ🙂)

I was staying at the Hilton around the corner and their restaurant said there is a 2 hour wait, so I immediately looked up where is a good steak place to eat near me, and Corner Grill House was the top choice. I didn’t hesitate and went straight there, at first I was told it is booked as well, and I would have to come back later, and to my luck someone just paid and I had the first available table. Service was amazing, the atmosphere was perfect, and the steak I had was exactly what I was looking for!! I highly recommend this place for anyone wanting great service and great food. You will not be disappointed.

Delightful restaurant where the staff really make you feel welcome and are really engaging. I loved chatting to the Waiter and the Host in between courses. The food is just as perfect. I ordered the Baked Mushrooms for starters and it was a treat, so full of flavour. Yum, I'll be attempting this at home. The Salt Aged Porter House steak was cooked to perfection and just melted in the mouth. I can't recommend this place enough, just make sure you make a reservation as it is rightly very popular.

I never had such a delicious, moisty and tender lamb as in this place. Worth a visit just for the taste of it. A very nice surprise
