Was just walking by and happened to notice the anti-homeless benches at the church. Really sad that any church would have multiple benches available to the public(skinny people only bemches) yet they are set up to prevent the homeless from using the benches at night. WWJD??? SMH really sad in my opinion.

Beautifully Awesome Church! The music they play here is awesome. There’s a gift shop. You will be able to grow in your relationship with Jesus with the sacraments here. Without any doubt going to Sacred Heart is a great opportunity to take advantage of! Have a great day! Know God loves you! And know when you learn true devotion to Jesus Our Savior he helps you become your happiest and most heroic version of yourself!

This church was my dream wedding venue. It is no doubt a beautiful church. Months have passed since our marriage ceremony took place in this church. Regrettably, our experience with the administrative office before and after our union has proven to be profoundly frustrating. Communication has been the most challenging; responses, if received at all, require weeks, sometimes even months. With utmost discretion, I shall withhold the employee's name. This review is solely on the individual overseeing the marriage ceremonies. Despite our earnest request for an alternative contact, she appears to be the sole contact. In our interactions with her, she repeatedly assured us, "I’ll make sure to do it this week," or "I meant to do this today." After months, these declarations remain unfulfilled. I could predict her responses should I ever succeed in securing a conversation. My bridal party, too, encountered the same scripted assurances when speaking with her. MOST IMPORTANT MATTER: Our original marriage license never arrived in the courthouse, a matter we articulated on multiple occasions. The church is responsible for mailing the original document to the court. The courthouse instead received only a copy of our marriage license. After numerous calls and emails, we have not received a response. Unfortunately, our license to marry has now expired.

Beautiful, welcoming, non prejudice church. Love the shirt daily masses. If you stay a bit after rhey play music that is very relaxing and helps focus on prayer.

Absolutely beautiful church. If you attend mass, they will validate parking, which is in a garage since the church is in downtown town. The music is lively and people tend to linger inside the church after mass and have loud conversations so it's a little hard to have some silence on a Sunday. The members are welcoming to people visiting. There is a gift shop with very kind ladies right next to the church.

I do not believe this is a child friendly church. It's our first Sunday to attend and we witnessed a woman who appeared to be a church administrator (as she was blessing communion, etc.) angrily walk across the sanctuary and shove a child's toys in a bag, lay hands on him and harshly press him into a seat because he was being "too loud" with his toys. She then repeatedly went back and continued harass the mother and her children. My son is young and loud at times too. I don't believe he would safely allowed to be a child in this environment.

Absolutely BEAUTIFUL church, but the mass is a no go. Incredibly irreverent. If you’re a traditional Catholic or a more reverent Novus Ordo goer don’t bother going to mass there. Beautiful to visit! Couldn’t even really enjoy it after mass because they kicked everyone out :) This church represents everything going wrong with the Catholic Church, one priest even broke out into a solo in the middle of mass. Also, a lot of clapping at the end of mass (yes, clapping 🤦🏻‍♀️).

The building is gorgeous! But the mass is irrelevant, outdated and it’s clear the church is only accepting of members that can contribute large donations. God isn’t based on money or worldly possessions, but this church is only about those things, complete hypocrisy and very unwelcoming. The sermons are boring and I don’t know how any church goer gets anything out of these masses

Absolutely beautiful church. Nice welcoming congregation. We went Christmas eve, and loved it. Only wish the sound system was better set up. Priests mic was under his chin, so s lit off his talking was muffled. Otherwise loved it.

The most welcoming, loving, and God filled supportive parish. The beauty of the place doesn’t hurt either but the atmosphere and the people here bring you into communion with God’s word in a way I have never experienced. Catholic and non-Catholic alike are welcomed to worship our almighty God together in a joyous way fit for our Savior.

"Behold, thou openly defiest God in His holy house, by allowing two men to enter and partake as one? Would thou also permit a man to enter and commit murder? And what of theft from the tithe basket, taken each service? Yet, thou allowest this abomination to occur, and expect God to be appeased thereby. Hath we not come to understand that all sins are equal in the eyes of the Lord? Then why dost thou permit it within the sacred place of worship? May God bless thee. May the Holy Spirit fill this hallowed ground. Know that the religion of the antichrist is the Catholic Church, for we, true believers in Christ, require naught but God, Jesus, and the guidance of the Holy Spirit through His divine Word. Be not deceived."

Such a gorgeous Church :-) I believe it is very healing here. The most important life changing impactive challenges in my life I have come here to pray on. That is the power of this church ;)

I am a tourist visiting Tampa from out of state. Saw this as a historic landmark, and as a Catholic wanted to see it. When I got there at 12:50 on a Saturday all the doors were locked and no one was there. Not able to pray inside. Very disappointing.

After getting married and having both of our children baptized in this church, I can not believe how negative this church has become. The administrative staff is shockingly rude and uninviting. We just wanted to get more information about the process for receiving first communion. The lady on the phone on our first attempt to get the information, became so frustrated and unhelpful that she hung up the phone. A few weeks later we called back to try to get information once again but unfortunately the same lady answered the phone and became short and frustrated once again. As stated above, we were married in this church and had both our children baptized here but they refused to even give us information about the preparation for first communion. The church does not accept anyone from outside the parish nor anyone that hasn’t donated large sums of money to be part of it. It is sad to see such a fast decline in this parish where just a few years ago it was a happy, vibrant and inviting place. The church really needs to go back, review their staff and become inviting again before more people just like us leave this place behind for good.

Very cool church. Love the furniture and the priest is awesome. My cousin got married there and she seemed very happy. Also I prayed for Napoli to win the game next day and they did. So all in all I strongly recommend.

The Church is very beautiful. I like the schedule, they don't change very often. I was able to get my Confession for Saturday Devotion on 31st of Dec. Only complaint is confessions aren't too private. People pray to a Jesus statue next to the open confessional. Some gregorian chant could help make the Confession more private. They do not offer the Mass of All Ages, TLM.

The ladies and men who work the food and clothing charities are truly some of the kindest caring people I have ever met. Their devotion to this cause is endless. They should be commened for their dedication to the community. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all you do! God bless you all!

My fiancé and I were visiting from Orlando and attended the Sunday Mass. The people were friendly and welcoming and the bookstore is so nice! The church looks so beautiful too. There was a bit of a hold up when we tried parking that we were almost late, but we’re so blessed to have had the opportunity to come here, thank you!

My father & my mother married at Sacrée Coeur in Haiti. It was right during my first visit in Tampa from Staten Island, NY, to have this planned-put in my calendar to be at this beautiful architecture of a church, with an impressive deep ceiling, extraordinary Sunday mass & to meet pleasant members.

Very nice building. Went for vigil mass but it was closed(?). All doors locked. First time ever encountering a closed church. Maybe this is normal in this country though

Weekend mass is great! Don’t forget to get parking validated at the end of the service. A small fee to park in the garage even after validation.

To the most beautiful church building in Tampa for the stained glass art pieces and architectural details. A peaceful and safe haven to pray and reconnect.

What a beautiful church!!! Father Zach did an excellent wedding mass for my cousin's wedding. Kathy, the coordinator, was very professional and made sure that everything went smoothly! If you want a beautiful, Catholic mass amd wedding venue, I would highly recommend Sacred Heart!

We were going to dinner at The Dan Restaurant in The Floridian Hotel Saturday night. So we went to Saturday night mass at Sacred Heart. Beautiful older church. We attend every once in a while when we are in the area.

Beauriful & majestic Cathedral. Tough place to park. We arrived to late for Noon Mass and we tried for a quick prayer and walk through at 12:55 pm and the Friars were quick to shut down the church as soon as they asked everyone to depart asap. It's a Sunday think the Cathedral would be open for some prayer & meditation....

Really welcoming atmosphere. Great music. you feel the presence of the Lord. If you want to have a place where you can go and have a private talk with Jesus and have an improve in your faith and a personal relationship with Jesus that died for you in order for you to be safe and able to go to heaven. Definitely this is a place where you have to go and you will find a huge extended family.

Beautiful Easter Sunday Mass with brimming congregation. Standing room only yesterday, which reminds me of Masses when growing up. We are visiting from Dearborn MI, and It was a wonderful way to celebrate the day.

Horribly irreverent clergy. It is unfortunately priests like these these that have led to so many Catholics no longer believing in Christ’s true presence in the Eucharist. Would not recommend any Catholic who truly believes to attend or support this parish.

  • 2/5 George P. 1 year ago on Google
You can't receive the Eucharistic on the tongue. Yet all the churches I've been to let you receive it. They do not use a chalice but use a bowl to give Communion. At the end the priest asked questions like are their visitors and anniversaries which is fine. Followed by is there anyone who purchased a new car or house?Bridgestone you get your candy for Halloween. Really? Beautiful church modernist priest.

Gorgeous Gothic architecture example set in main downtown Tampa. Attended only available midnight Christmas Mass service I could locate in the area for 2022. Service was so full there were standing members across the entire back of sanctuary entry. Although they didn't do a "candlelight" hymn to close, as many sanctuaries do for that service; it was still a beautiful tribute, reminds us what we are celebrating, and will always be my favorite way to begin the day's festivities.

This cathedral type Catholic Church is magnificent! The most enchantingly beautiful church I’ve ever step foot in. Unfortunately, most of the time when I try to stop by, it’s closed despite their visiting hours showing otherwise. Also, getting someone to answer their phone is next to impossible. It’s a busy church in a busy city so that’s expected but I just wish hours were more accurate. Other than that, it’s a must see for Catholics and non-Catholics alike!
