Great 'whole in the wall' place to visit in St. Louis. Doesn't look like much from the outside but very welcoming once you walk thru the doors and great food! Great varity of meals ranging from sushi rolls to hibachi dishes. Great atmosphere for adults and children.

I really enjoyed this sushi restaurant, they offer an all-you-can-eat sushi menu at lunchtime. The menu had a lot of great sushi items, also it was very affordable. The restaurant was a little busy, but the staff did a good job getting me seated. The staff was very efficient and helpful, and the sushi was delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant, if you enjoy sushi.

This hole in the wall is one of St. Louis best kept secrets. You would never think an all-you-can-eat sushi place would be some of the best sushi you've had, but I bring people here from everywhere and they back me up every time. My partner and I usually visit every month and the sushi stands up. The appetizers are also delicious. Do yourself a favor and visit. Pro tip: they do offer a student discount if you have your ID.

4/5 I was very skeptical of sushi in the Midwest. I just didn't know whether I would ever find any sushi place that would match that from the west coast. Hence why I always opt for the rolls. The food here is fresh and it was delicious. The staff are very polite and nice. I always opt for the AYCE option and always get the avocado roll and the sweet potato roll. The experience here is always great, my friends seem to enjoy the sushi here.

What a fantastic place to have sushi. Service is friendly. The sushi is fresh, and there is a great selection of rolls. The all you can eat option is the best version I've ever encountered. If you're deciding your next place to try I would make this place it

Eel handrolls were rather good, fried oysters were fairly good, Enjoyed the chicken yakitori. Beef udon soup was flavored nice- egg was excellent but beef a little tough. Gyoza was acceptable. Mountain roll was interesting, i dont usually like saucy rolls..

I’m pregnant and have been craving sushi. I was never a sushi eater before this, so I was a bit nervous about ordering it to my house instead of going out and sitting down to have some, especially at a cheaper place. While I’m certain it’s not the best ever, I was pleasantly surprised when the taste and presentation were pretty great. I always love when restaurants add sauces/utensils/napkins to the bag unasked, just like these folks did. Thank you for making one of my first experiences so enjoyable Sushi Ai!

I was pretty impressed with Sushi Ai! They have a good vibe, pretty quick service, and most importantly, flavorful sushi. I ordered the Saint Louis roll fried, and 4 individual pieces of sushi, and they were all pretty good! The nigiri was slightly more expensive than I expected, but made very well. Oh, and if you like green tea, I'd definitely get a pot. Just be warned, obviously this isn't traditional southern sweet tea. Goes well with the sushi rice, though

Fair for a place like St. Louis. The dinner option 2 of $24 for 3 maki rolls, 4 sushi and a starter - is not a bad deal. I tried the St. Louis roll deep-fried option and it cooked the sushi inside. I didn't expect that. I was expecting it to be like friend tempura ice cream where the ice cream inside is still ice cream and not melted. So I'm disappointed about that. But the server was attentive so that's a plus.

Can be pricey depending on your budget but you get very high quality sushi, so it's worth the $$ - (there's a notable difference between lunch and dinner prices) The atmosphere is comfortable, waitstaff is efficient and polite, the food presentations are small works of art For the sushi 'options' - Opt 1. 'All you can eat sushi' - means you can order as much of anything on the separate white paper menu as you want, including the appetizers/ sides for a set price. (I believe it comes out as one thing at a time unless you request otherwise, but ask your server to be sure.) If you can mow through large amounts of sushi, this would be an optimal choice The condition is that there's a fee for any leftovers and you can't take 'All-you-can-eat' leftovers home. (My guess is that this encourages people to only order what they honestly think they can eat to limit waste/reduce depleting food inventory unnecessarily.) Opt 2. A sushi combo for a set price - 3 rolls, 4 sushi pieces, and 1 app No catch with opt 2, you get what you order and leftovers are yours to take, no extra fee. Not to worry if you don't like sushi, there's a variety of other menu items available

Incredibly efficient service, without making customers feel rushed. I walked in, hot, on a Saturday afternoon. I was seated right away and brought a menu. Someone else came to take my drink order, and when she came back, I placed my food order. Everything arrived within a few moments of each other and was well-prepared. I had the edamame appetizer, the fried oysters, and the Snow White roll. The edamame and the roll were delicious. I had never tried oysters before and I think they're just not for me. The prices were affordable and the service was just fantastic. I'll definitely return.

This is the St. Louis downtown location. Street meter parkings are available. The food is delicious and the staff are friendly ... just as other Sushi AI locations. Tip: I would recommend to buy the 15% off membership if you go there often.

First time there I'm not big into sushi but the fried jalapeño roll was the best thing I've had in awhile!!

Unbelievable! So fresh and SOOO GOOD! Definitely the best sushi I’ve ever had in the Midwest. They cut and roll right there in front of you! This is a must have EVERY TIME I’m in St. Louis!

I work downtown STL. I get takeout twice a month. Sometimes I dine in. The food is great if you dine-in. If you order take out, it is 50/50 on the quality of the meal. I placed my carry-out order at noon today. I arrived at 12:15pm. When I got back to my office at 12:25 I was disappointed. Chicken Teriyaki was not even close to what was pictured on the menu. What I got, I would have never ordered. And the General Chicken was 75% batter (no chicken), fried rock hard and uneditable. And I paid $2 up charge for a scoop of fried rice. Don't make the same mistake. Last week I ordered carry-out at 3pm. The lunch rush was over. And my Seafood Fried Rice was phenomenal. So... My advice is, dine in. Or order carry- out after the lunch rush.

So delicious and affordable! The crab Rangoon was crispy, the California, Jalapeño, and Spicy Tuna rolls were great, and the Lo Mein and Fried Rice tasted great! Highly recommend!

Passing through St. Louis and was looking for some quality, affordable sushi. This place hit the mark. It was moderately busy on a Wednesday night (which I see as a good thing). The service was wonderful and the sushi was extremely good...tasted very fresh. The all you can eat option is currently $23.99 which I found to be an excellent price for the quality of sushi you get. Not to mention all of our rolls came out really fast. Overall this was a fantastic experience.

I was in town for work and stopped by this restaurant. It was fairly busy and I ordered a takeout order with a St. Louis roll and a regular sashimi. It came with salad and soup. The salad was just iceberg lettuce with dressing. The soup was standard. The roll was pretty good. The sashimi was not very good because got massive pieces of fish that were just way too big to handle. It would’ve been so much better if they had sliced them thinner. The point of sashimi is not just to have a whole bunch of raw fish. It’s to have, essentially what you would get with nigiri, but without the rice. Truthfully, I didn’t even finish this sashimi because it wasn’t that good. I don’t know if I’ve said that about sashimi. Ever. It came with tuna, salmon, white tuna, SUPER CHEWY yellowtail (probably cut in the wrong direction), and mackerel. I should have gotten something else.

All you can eat sushi dinner for $24/person, and $2 off hot sake on Saturdays! Great price, but would ask for a different seat next time, something farther into the restaurant (we were right next to the messy To-go station), or upstairs.

Sushi Ai is an amazing sushi restaurant. I go almost every stay in St. Louis and it's always great. Highly recommend you check them out! The Sexy Girl Roll is delicious

Cute restaurant with booths and counter seating on the first floor but also great tables with a balcony view on the second floor. The food was delicious and presented attractively and the service was quick and friendly. They have a great all you can eat lunch special but I didn't try this today. Maybe next time; and there definitely will be one.

This quaint establishment will be added to my favorites for the future. This was my first time having fried sushi and I can’t wait to go back. The crab raggoon was so sweet and crisp. My family also ordered the American rolls, shrimp fried rice as well as General Tso

The sushi rolls look great but they don't taste as good as Drunken Fish. They have the best price in town.
