Best in STL! We always crave the hot salami! Food And service at this location is always consistently Very friendly top notch and fast. Especially for how busy they are. That alone speaks volumes of how popular this place is. Love it and recommended always. Complements to the staff, manager and owners! Definitely a must stop when in St. Louis

Subs, hoggies, grinders...whatever you choose to call them. Here you will call them the best you ever had. Highest quality ingredients shine, quick service, great price.

It is pretty awesome having a taste of The Hill right here in the heart of Creve Coeur. This place is the king of sandwiches, best ingredients, freshest bread, great menu item, fresh baked cookies, and unique selection of chips and drinks. There used to places to dine here, some along the wall but after COVID this place looks to be a more grab and go/online ordering operation. Nonetheless, this place always had very friendly service, accurate online orders, and everyone seems to be in a good mood. The restaurant itself is always clean, and they also have a couple fridges in the front for grabbing some items like meats or pizzas to take home . I have had just about every sandwich on the menu, my favorite is the roast beef and salami with extra beef and giardiniera peppers. Perfection. My wife loves the meatball sandwich and of course always get it on the garlic cheese bread. You won’t regret coming, can get pricy if you want it to by adding any extra items but their menu prices are fair and portions are ideal!

***I never knew that I needed Hot Salami in my life! *** I wasn't really sure what to expect. Like is it hot as in spice, or hot as in temperature? It is hot as in temperature. And it works. I went with the Roast Beef and Hot Salami because I knew I like Roast beef. Had it on the Garlic Cheese Bread, with STL Cheese (?), mayo, tomato and lettuce. It was also suggested that I grab a bag of Some Rapper's Potato Chips (Hot honey bbq)BBQ. Yep, they were good too. Added some to my sandwich for some kick. The workers were fantastic. The sandwich was made quick as lightning. Overall, a splendid stop. Lily had a few pieces of the beef and also approved. Save one of their location's in your map and make sure to stop in on your next road trip.

Sandwiches are really great. As a Korean American, I make it a point to find the best Italian sandwiches wherever I go. This place is it for Stl. I haven’t been back because despite being high educated, I can’t spell or talk on my best days but it is pronounced close to “joy-ya” I think. I believe they sell hot salami frozen pizzas in local grocery stores and while I haven’t had it yet I think about it quite often late at night. Will keep y’all updated.

We just found out about this place after living in St Louis nearly 5 years. I saw an ad for it through my email and saw that it had won at James Beard award as well as Ben featured on food Network as one of the best sandwiches in the country. My wife and I finally went. She had the spicy daggett and I had the porknado. Both of our first bites were followed by wide open eyes and a, "mmmmmm" sound. The sandwiches were hardy and big enough to be shared not that you would want to. Haha. The meat was delicious and even though the line was almost out the door it moved quickly. Customer service was very friendly and helpful and we had no problem finding a table. I can't wait to try the original location at the hill and I'm looking forward to going back around spring break. This was a truly marvelous find.

My daughter's been telling me about this place - we were in STL today, so we dropped in. Well worth the drive! And the cashier was phenomenal! I let her make a recommendation, and it paid off! Best hot salami sandwich I've ever had!

Fantastic sandwiches. Very filling and good value. Bread and meats are both exceptionally good. Veggies were delicious as well. Only downside is obviously these aren’t the most healthy sandwiches.

Excellent quality sandwiches. Chili bowl is good and seemed fresh cooked. Price is average for a good quality sandwich. The Italian trio was very balanced, simplified ordering and bread perfectly toasted. Good balance meat to bread ratio. The wait to get the food after ordering was quite long, but it was also lunch rush with takeout, doordash pickups and eat in being made (justifiable). Staff did well for the workflow. No photo, I was too eager to eat

The best sandwich I have ever eaten. The Spicy Daggett has all what I missed of Chicago but so much more. Their hot salami is a revelation. It was so good I had to thank the crew before I left. They have fountain soda and bottled soda. The best part? You can buy their summer sausage to go for only $10 or so. The seating is your standard sandwich shop. Customers were constantly showing up to pick up their orders. Nobody waiting long. Great service.

Really good and enough for two meals. I will definitely be back again. I didn't rate the atmosphere because it was a pick up order and I walked in and walked right back out. Didn't pay any attention to anyone outside of the person that handed over my food.

I got a meatball sandwich on garlic cheese bread and my wife got a turkey sandwich on regular bread. It was fine but it certainly wasn’t anything special. The bread was particularly generic tasting – like a French bread loaf from the Walmart bakery. I could barely taste the garlic of the garlic cheese bread. All in all, I don’t see what all the fuss is about.

This was our first time here. The person taking our order was very helpful and helped us pick our sandwiches based on our input. They were great. We ordered the Spicy Daggett and the Spicy Salami. I split the spicy Daggett with my husband and he loved the sandwich too. Everyone that we interacted with was very friendly. Even the person packaging up our sandwiches was very friendly and helpful. We will definitely go back.

Been to both locations. Best hot Italian sandwiches in St Louis. They operate with precision efficiency, staff is great, portions are generous and tastes like nothing else around. I highly suggest the triple Italian on garlic cheese bread. Prices are in line with all other good sandwich places.

First time there today for lunch. Nice little place. I had the Spicy Daggett. It was SO good! Looking forward to going back.

Unfortunately will not be ordering from here anymore. The food itself tastes good but almost everytime I have ordered something went wrong. The final straw was today when they didnt put my sandwich in the bag for our group order and when I drove back to pick it up I tried complaining about it to the employees and they didnt say anything minus one of them laughing at me about it. I dont know what is so funny about having terrible service. I ended up just taking the soggy cold sandwich. Would be willing to order again if they can hire compitent workers but until then I am avoiding this place.

Easily the best hot salami sandwich I've ever had. The wait is long, but worth it! There's limited seating at this location, so plan accordingly if you have kids.

Prefacing this to say that I'd been only once previously and it was at the Macklind location...at least a decade ago. Not that I didn't like it, I just somehow forgot about them. I was tickled to learn about their Creve Coeur location, it's extremely convenient for me. Parking is adequate. Employees are very friendly and helpful. I like the Big Italian (hot salami + pepperoni) on the garlic cheese bread. Let's not talk calories, but I've been twice in as many weeks. I definitely won't forget about Gioia's ever again, super good sandwich.

The place looks nice. Unfortunately the menu is made for someone who only eats red meats and pork. No chicken or tuna option . Unacceptable. No deal

This place sells the best hot salami sandwich that I have ever had. Pro Tip: put your sandwich on cheese bread, you won't be disappointed.

Best sandwich in St Louis. Get the hot salami every time. Order way too much and eat it anyway. Take a long nap in a place with a breeze because you are uncomfortably too much food.

Really enjoyed the sandwich that I had for lunch. One of the best subs in town. I will definitely be back!
