I used to love going to this book store. I didn't know they had a program that you can sign up for. When I was checking out one day, they asked if I was interested in the program. They gave me all the benefits and I happily said "sure!" My total for my books was around $18 and change. Once she finished signing me up, she told me I owed almost $40! I said she never mentioned the price during her spiel. She said the benefits outweigh the price. She was very deceptive and didn't deny that they don't tell the price before signing people up. I haven't been back. Be leery.

I have came into this store twice looking for different books. Every time I go to checkout, they ask me to have a credit card etc. with them and when I politely decline, the ladies are rude and give me dirty looks. For example today at the checkout a lady told me I was getting free magazines and all she would need would be a name and address, so I gave it to her. After it was done she finally told me that I would be charged for these. As a college student I don’t need to be paying for anything extra, so I declined. She gave me a dirty look and wouldn’t even look at me. I understand that’s part of the job to sell these things, but don’t be rude when I decline. Will not return. Go somewhere with good customer service instead.

Basically, my husband and I live about 45mins away from the nearest store but decided on a breezy Tuesday afternoon we’d make the journey! The store was clean, the selection of books was impeccable and don’t get me started on the amazing fan merch! You may wonder why 1 star? Well our quickly easy experience came to a head when we went to check out. Granted no one came over to assist us when we were carrying nearly 15 books to purchase, but we are grown ups that isn’t much of an issue. The distaste started with bland and also elitist attitude. The woman at the check out counter (older with grey hair and glasses) started the check out process and began to explain their discount program. Great program overall, we just at the time do not visit the store to make full usage of such a program and didn’t have time to sign up. She then tried to again bargain with us that it’ll be in our best interest to do so. Don’t get me wrong I love a good deal but no means no. Then after she fully rang us up, she says we qualify for 3 free magazines. We don’t read magazines. So I politely, again, decline. In which she insist because it’s free to just take it. Again I said no. Then she puts away the brochure of magazines and hands us our books and with our a second glance and no “have a nice day” promptly leaves us at the counter. I understood she was just trying to give us free things but at the end of the day, when a customer declines your offer and you keep hounding them it is really awkward and very rude. Or at least hide your distaste and facial expressions better?

The associate Patti, an older woman with a blonde bob and glasses, was incredibly rude and disrespectful. My brother was checking out and we were on separate cards and I was going to use his discount card and she racistly thought we were not related due to my ethnicity. There’s a thing called adoption. She did not allow me to use his discount and I was highly dissatisfied with her. The fact that I could’ve also been his cousin or related through marriage was very rude of her to assume. I love books a million but I do not want her checking me out again.

Cute store with a great coffee shop. Unfortunately the cashier signed us up for an extremely costly magazine subscription we did not want nor did we ask to be signed up for. So far we are out a couple hundred bucks. Definately will not be back.

If multiple people are describing the older cashier woman who gets mad when you turn down her offers then why isn't BAM taking a hint and disciplining her? I was so polite upon saying no to her offers, the second time I said no about the magazine offer she took the brochure and chucked it into her cubicle in a huffy and puffy sort of way. I think the only reason BAM isn't putting a stop to this is because she probably pressures a lot of people to sign up.....which is obviously good for business. I will still shop here, but I will try to avoid this Cashier who is sad with her life and taking it out on other people.

They have a great selection of books. My granddaughter loves going there and always finds multiple books she is excited to read. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly, and I love the coffee shop, too!

I have never posted a review on anything but I definitely feel the need to. Everyone was so nice except the lady that checked my sister and I out at the register. Very rude. Didn’t give me the discount my mom pays for every year for our family. Refused me the discount for no reason. It also irks me when a receipt or a bag has to be asked for by the customer. Not told to have a nice day like a normal cashier. Everyone else was nice though. Will be waiting for another cashier next time. Should have saved twenty dollars here.

Good bookstore, huge selection but please stop trying to “give” us a “free” Magazine subscription that we have to pay for later. I usually say no as soon as they start talking and apologize to the worker that they have to do that. Resale is bad enough but training people to pressure customers is insulting to everyone.

Okay so hear me out. If you buy a car you want to test drive it right. Well I was dismayed defined that you could not bring any merchandise in the bathroom with you. Now I found a lovely book on drawing but how do I know if I'm going to bond with this book until I get it in the bathroom with me. So what I did was I just snapped a couple of photos of a page or two from the book. I came back home and I looked at those images while I was in my bathroom, seated. And I've decided that this is a book I can bond with. So the next time I drive two and a half hours to see my daughter I'm going to buy it. Thank you very much Books-A-Million for inhibiting my impulsive nature. I'll guarantee I'll be looking at pictures I take of some of your books in the bathroom from now on. And look out for more of my reviews

BaM and B&N are 2 places I will forever endorse and places my wife loves and hates to take me because I will gladly spend a fortune there. I 100% hope you go to stores like this and continue to go there, we need them.

My kids like shopping and browsing here. I think they over price the heck out of the books and use it make a list for Amazon or other used book sites. Really clean though and the coffee bar I. The back smells great.

This place has great displays, friendly staff, and the best selection of fun coffee mugs I've ever seen. The store is organized well and is always very tidy. I've found some amazing books in their bargain section. This is my favorite spot for buying books or gifts for friends. They even sell vinyl records.

It's a bookstore. Good variety selection, something weird or fun always hiding in-store (hydropod plant-growing kit, leather notebooks, crystal kits/books/products, an ever-expanding manga section♡, art kits, calligraphy sets, coffee/tea/snacks). Really love the Harry Potter inspired drinks at Joe's café in-store, especially the Tea of Requirement & Butterbrew

Nice book store. Has multiple options for books, collectibles, games, and much Moore. The staff is polite and is very helpful. One drawback is that they do not support local Author's.

Always love coming here. Wonderful selection of book, friendly staff and the back of the store has some great coffee. I was here today and lost my phone and they were quick to help me find it. My kids love the plushies.

I love everything about this book store! Great little coffee/drink Cafe in the back and lots of little nooks tucked away for different niches.

Great kids section for little readers....cozy little coffee shop inside with lots of books and gizmos of your favorite things! If there's a book you're looking for, that they don't have in store, they can order it and have it shipped to you!

I love this bookstore. It is so refreshing to be around real books. The store is well laid out and I can browse as long as I like with no one bothering me. There are magazines, notebooks, and other things to look at besides books. A coffee shop is located in the back of the store also. It is a great place to unwind if one is having a busy day. My Kindle is fine, but holding a real book is better. I rarely leave empty handed.

A friend and I made the 45min drive to check out the store. It has been years since we have been to one. Honestly the place was huge, with tons of books. But the extra items or non book items took up half the store. Kind of reminded me of the store Box Lunch. Anyway my friend did purchase a book, and they only asked one time for her to become a member. After explaining we don’t live close enough the check out person didn’t press.

Love this book store! Join the millionaires club for great discounts! The only problem I have with this place is every time I visit my wallet suffers alot. (I got on a Colleen Hoover kick in January and have ended up getting most of them from BAM. They recently had a one day 50% off sale on all of her books that was able to help me get the rest I didn't already have. Now that I'm finished with those I look forward to going back and finding my next adventure :)

Love this store! Nice clean big store with so much to offer. Really wish i had one closer to home because the online ordering experience is horrible. Tried online but your one order takes weeks and shipped in different packages from different stores.
