Seattle's skyline is best viewed from my favorite park. While there may not be a plethora of activities to partake in, it's an ideal spot to take in the cityscape. Parking is gratis, but it can be challenging to secure a spot during peak hours. This locale is perfect for picnicking, as many folks can be seen doing so. Also a good spot to get a book and hang out for a bit. The park is quite safe. I wholeheartedly suggest taking a trip to this park to take in the breathtaking skyline.

Nice park to go check out the Seattle views or just get out and get a walk. If you go on a rainy weekday there shouldn’t be many people. Nice parking lot.

TLDR: great views of Seattle! Come for the views of the old gas works area and the views of the Seattle skyline. We came on a light drizzly day and honestly there was no one here. There is parking lot right in front and outside as well so plenty of spaces to park. A handful of people biking and walking their dog but ppretty empty

Beautiful and fun park that offers a grand view of Lake Union and Downtown Seattle in the distance. The views are superb on a sunny day but can get a bit gloomy when it rains. There are a few short walking trails and a small hill. Old oil tanks and pipes are now giant steel sculptures on a green space that remind us of the industrial history and hopefully also stand as signs that we'll keep transitioning into green energy. It's a shame that right now the park looks a little rundown and sometimes you'll see homeless people roaming around especially in the early morning.

Such a great and unique place for the sunsets and picnic with your beloved ones. Would be perfect for the summer time. Moreover, this place is popular for flying kites 🪁 You can come here with the dogs. It is a postindustrial landscape that was transformed into a public place. It is safe at the moment.

Nice place to hang around and the views of the Seattle skyline is amazing and unobstructed. One of the less touristy spots of Seattle. With all the abandoned industrial structures it’s pretty cool and you can take plenty of pics and selfies here. Lots of room to explore and run around. There is a beach here with views of the lake and skyline. The playground here will keep the little kids entertained. One of the most unique public parks I been too. If you’re going to Seattle make sure you add this place on the itinerary!

I cannot think of another park like Gas Works anywhere else. The one-of-a-kind Park combines traditional features like trees, grass, picnic tables with grassy knolls, amazing urban views across Lake Union, and the sci-fi looking remains of a once large gas power generation plant. Even the children's playground has unique devices to climb on. Covered areas and restrooms complete the eclectic Park. I chose to visit early in the day when the main parking lot had but a few cars. Things get busy later in the day and good luck finding a spot for your wheels.

An amazing place in Seattle! - Great spot for sitting on the green field and watching the water (Lake Union) and Seattle skyline - Nice vibe on sunny days - Nice place for doing Yoga - Historical gas machines look authentic and interesting - Very convenient for launching your kayak or paddleboard - Usually there is enough of parking especially on weekdays. Weekends can be very busy (and no parking). Feel free to try parallel streets for parking if you can’t find a spot

This is one of my favorite places in Seattle. It's a huge park right on the north side of Lake Union, and a perfect place to just be a peace. Sitting by the water is always relaxing, and if you're lucky, you can watch the seaplanes land and take off from the lake. The old gas works pipes and buildings are still there and very cool to see. I recommend this park if you're looking for a place to relax and listen to the water.

A great park for free visit and you can see the whole downtown Seattle and south lake. There is a small hill in the park and it is a great spot to take pictures! Definitely visit here if you are traveling to Seattle for the first time!

Really great view of Seattle from a nice park, there is a hill you can climb up to get a good view. Parking was free, there weren't a ton of people, but a lot of people eating picnics, bring some food and enjoy the atmosphere. There is also a park for children to play on. Seemed perfectly safe during the daytime for our visit.

A beautiful park but unfortunately there are large barriers all around it as they prepare for an event that takes place July 21st and 22nd. We weren’t able to full enjoy the park but it was still nice to visit. A lot of families as well as people who lived in tents around the park.

This park is located on the north shore of Lake Union. It's a large park with a big hill that's popular for kite flying. Sheltered picnic tables, children's play structures, and very beautiful views of downtown Seattle & some of the Lake Union houseboats. The porta potties are in the parking lot area. An old gasification plant is in this park. Access to Lake Union is restricted as the lake sediment contains hazardous substances.

Very cool park where the equipment are the sculptures. Each piece of equipment being more or less tagged by graffiti in some way, but this has great industrialist vibes that would surely make Ayn Rand blush. With that said, she’d probably cringe at the small homeless encampment inside of the pavilion. Other than that, great views of Seattle's skyline and a stunning place to visit on a clear day!

Perfect place for picnics and get togethers. You can get your own tents, chairs etc and set up a nice barbecue. The lake is beautiful, you can even rent a boat if you like. Alcohol consumption is illegal, although I've seen people drink but discreetly. Tip: don't forget to eat a blanket, the park is filled with dried poop.

Nice place to picnic on a sunny day. The view of the Seattle skyline is amazing, especially after the sunset. Its interesting to watch various activities at the lake. The gasworks also has beautiful old era steel structures. If you walk closer to the shore you can watch lot of ducks, egrets and blue herons. I also see lot of rowing team and kayakers practicing by the lake.

Gas Works Park contains remnants of the sole remaining coal gasification plant in the United States. The plant operated from 1906 to 1956 and was bought by the city of Seattle for park purposes in 1962. The park opened to the public in 1975; it was designed by Seattle landscape architect Richard Haag, who won the American Society of Landscape Architects Presidents Award of Design Excellence for the project. The plant's conversion into a park was completed by Daviscourt Construction Company of Seattle. It was originally named Myrtle Edwards Park, after the city councilwoman who had spearheaded the drive to acquire the site, who died in a car crash in 1969. In 1972, the Edwards family requested that her name be removed from that of the park because the design called for the retention of much of the plant. In 1976, Elliott Bay Park (just north of Seattle's Belltown neighborhood) was renamed Myrtle Edwards Park.

It is a good place to see if one visits Seattle. One can go boating, kayaking, and surfing. It is great for kids. You see ducks and geese around. It also has a play area for kids. There are some homeless people around. One should be careful to visit only in daylight hours.

A good amount of parking is available and for 4 hours. Fun park to see the water and views of the city. Sun dial at the top which was fun as well - it's super accurate if you account for daylight savings time. Fun playground as well.

A charming and unique place from which you can watch the view of the sea and Seattle. The park houses old gas production facilities and gives it uniqueness. The park has a small hill from which you can see the view. The park has a small playground and public washrooms. There is free parking.

The Seattle skyline from the park is amazing to watch. Also lot of people are sailing in the lake union. The views are good overall. However the park itself is ill maintained. Dog poop is everywhere. You need to watch your steps very carefully. The area seems a little shady too

Nice area with good amount of parking and great views of the city and skyline. The view from Kite hill is also very nice. Seems like a really nice date spot. The gasworks structures are pretty cool and started to have greenery growing on it so it’s kind of an interesting vibe of nature and machinery together.

I visited this park at night time! In winter it was a worth watching. Grab a milk shake or hot fudge at the dick’s nearby before you go there it is located in Queen Ave There is two view points one at the lake and other at the Kate hill recommended for visitors to catch excellent glimpse of Seattle skyline and really worth it

I've got to give this park two stars just because of the potential of what it could be. There's some really cool architecture, and neat old equipment, but it's impossible to enjoy them because the incredible amount of graffiti all over everything is too distracting. I'm not talking about artistic graffiti, we're talking about ugly mindless tagging. And it's everywhere. Skip this park and go somewhere a little farther out where they don't tolerate this kind of trashy behavior. And they take better care of the place.

An excellent place to spend your evening during summer months. This place provides a panoramic and picturesque view of the lake and downtown Seattle skyline. This place is family and kids friendly, although during weekends finding car parking space can be challenging, however it's worth the effort considering the view you get.

Wonderful place to relax and have a walk. Of course the weather has to be great. I love the different kind of scenery you can see there. The hill top view is fabulous. You can see the different aspects of the city. Would be even better if there is a coffee shop around.

Gas Works Park offers a kid and dog friendly view of Seattle. Mostly circular walking paths and a really cool playground will keep the kids and pets entertained. I enjoyed watching the seaplanes take off and land off the lake. Dogs must be leashed but this is no enforced. It’s also a great place to see industrial ruins. No swimming, boating or wading as the water is not safe so keep your dogs away from the water.

Great view of downtown and it is just as worthwhile to visit on a cloudy day as it is on a sunny day. There are some paved paths around the park with great viewpoints. There are also some unpaved paths but all were well maintained. It seemed very accessible. We had no trouble parking in the attached parking lot. We loved seeing the city from another viewpoint.

If you just want to chill with friends or your family, this is a great place. You also get a great view from the park. And it's also a plus to know that it's where they shot the paintball scene from 10 Things I Hate About You.

Interesting way they took an old 19th century gas refinery and turned it into something not only picturesque but usable. I enjoyed the brightly colored piping. And the interesting architecture that was still up. The View on the top of the hill is spectacular and you can see the entire Seattle skyline. There's a large amount of geese, so be careful, geese aren't always the nicest and they leave a lot of excrement around.
