Wonderful homemade Mexican food in Tumwater! The portions are huge and are a decent price as well. Highly recommend for anyone looking for Mexican breakfast on the weekend!

The pros: The carne asada is one of the best in the area, and the rice and beans are moist and flavorful. We also value supporting a family owned business. The cons: They used to make really thick and crunchy tortilla chips from scratch but now serve ones comparable to most other places and don't taste fresh. Their fish tacos are made with tilapia, and the ones I ordered frankly tasted like dirt. Nothing compared to fresh cod you'd hope for in good fish tacos. Really wish the service was better. No one checked on us after our food was delivered except to drop off the check by the time we finished, and the server who took our order did so right after taking a smoke break out front and left our table smelling like cigarette smoke which really spoiled my appetite.

Stopped by and ordered a Enchilada plate to go. While I waited I had a house margarita on the rocks. Margarita was awful- all margarita mix. My enchilada (barbacoa) plate I couldn’t even eat. Barbacoa meat was hard and dry. $25 dinner was a bust. I stopped in at 7pm and they closed at 8pm so maybe that’s why but who knows. Hope everyone else has better luck than I do.

This was my first time ordering from here and sadly my order was wrong! I ordered veggie nachos and they put meat on them. Alll over them too so I couldn't even pick it off. I only have a 30min lunch so I couldn't go back to get the correct meal. I called to confirm if I ordered from the right menu or maybe took someone else order and all they said was yes they have veggie nachos and sorry about that.. I got my money back from Postmates so that's good. The girl was nice at pickup, was ready reallly fast and it looked great so I'll give them another try.

Ramirez Mexican Store, so me and my hubby will occasionally stop in to pick up a few items from the store side. We noticed they have ready made stuff in the fridges such as guacamole, salsas, tamales ect. We have bought their tamales a couple of times and they were/are good. We decided this time around that we would go and dine in for lunch. We had chips and salsa to start, the salsa Verde and chips were very good, my hubby ordered the pork tamales, rice, and beans plate, I ordered the menudo, I don't like complaining, I know people work hard to produce tasty and delicious food to serve customers, but the menudo missed the mark big time. It was flavorless, the broth had no depth of any flavor, the menudo meat was not cooked properly, I also had a piece of pata that I could not eat because it was not cooked properly, and the meat on it was super tough. The condiments that you get for the menudo, cilantro, onions were old looking, I could not use it. I tried to put as much lime juice as I could so I could eat it, but I could not, it was just not good. You know maybe they just had a bad day with this pot, or at least that is what I hope. I have years of experience making menudo, and I learned from the best, I married into a family who's Mexican food is INCREDIBLE so I feel my rating is fair. The tamales were good, I did not taste the rice and beans, but my hubby ate all of his food. We will eventually eat there again, I don't believe one bad experience means you cannot try again.

I got delivery. I ordered the macho nachos, which were fantastic, and a sope, which was also fantastic. Fried and yummy. You get a generous container of rice and beans for the $2.99 amount, if you decide to add that. For the not so great side, I got an asada wrap, and it was 👎. The asada was very gristly, and it was overall underwhelming. Also, the flan was $7.50, and I wish it was less for a smaller one, since there was a lot of it. It was also eggy/custardy rather than silky, and I prefer a silky flan. Overall, I would order again for those nachos and sope, but pass on the other two. I would rate 3.5 if I could.

I just had my mind blown by the Happy Hour Carnitas Tacos for $2 ☠️ I literally need help putting my mind back together. This was the most satisfying, properly seasoned meat tacos I think I've ever had. Plus, domestic beer on tap was only $3.25. that's it, I'm addicted.

This is the best Mexican food spot in all of Olympia! Margaritas were phenomenal, carnitas were prepared and cooked amazingly, and to top it off, 15% military discount. I didn't even ask if they had one, our waitress asked me! I will absolutely recommend this place to all my friends. Thank you, Ramirez!

Food was a 5, Drinks were fine, service was a 2, little dislexic, not focused, we got our food at different times, mine came a full 10 mins before my table mates got thiers, our server was more interested in gabbing with other employees at the bar, had to get up and interrupt her several times and remind her that we were here still, thirsty!? We really liked our food though.update, still the same but nice people and better tequila selection. Salsa is delicious

Great place for fresh Mexican food as well as ingredients to make your own at home! Dine in or take it to go. Fresh made tamales are a great meal to grab and go. They don't take AmEx so just be mindful of that. Staff is friendly and helpful!

Quaint little place. Combo restaurant and store and bar…an interesting mixed bag. Nothing fancy. The food was good, not great, but not bad either. The service folks were very nice, but our waiter seemed a bit harried, juggling take out orders, table service and bussing tables. He was trying, but did forget to get my tortillas for my mole. I ended up asking another waitstaff for them. The guacamole was very good, as were the beans. I’ve never had mole before, so I can’t compare it with any other…it was tasty and portions were good.

Been here a few times. Had the Mexican pizza tonight. I could only eat half. It's big and delicious. I'll have the rest for lunch tomorrow. I must add that I can't get enough of their green salsa. Great menu selection. Nice bar in the other room. When we were done we shopped the grocery area of the restaurant/store. Got coconut water for feeling healthy :) We'll be back soon.

Amazing great food tried carnitas and al pastor also rice and beans tortillas. We had a great lunch very basic food but the flavor was anything but average Both meat's we're very tender juicy flavor, you can tell they take time to prepare similar to home cooked food. Oh yeah they have a nicely stocked store with lots of unique products. And there's the bar and dance floor truly a one stop covered everything kinda place.

01.17.23 I went in the Mexican store on Tuesday because I heard they have a Taco Tuesday deal. When I walked in it was very busy and there were a lot of Hispanic customers and employees. It was a good vibe and most people were speaking Spanish. Then I went to the counter to order the Taco Tuesday deal. The employee who was at the register to ring me up is the General Manager (GM) of the store. Before I was about to place my order, one of her co-workers was telling her something in Spanish right next to me. Then, I told the GM in fluent Spanish that I wanted the Taco Tuesday deal. Unfortunately, the GM responded only in English. Then I left without ordering because she was not conversing with me in Spanish. Because the GM refused to respond to me in Spanish, I called to file a complaint, because that is close to racism, and unfortunately the GM was the same person at the register. She told me there are words in Spanish/English that people do not understand, emphasizing that I would not understand her if she responded in Spanish. Ultimately, it was poor customer service and very judgmental. 01.24.23 Today I went to the Mexican store in the morning to give it a second chance. The dine-in was pretty empty so I sat down and the waiter came to me. He was very polite and after he greeted me, I replied in Spanish that I would like to use Spanish. He responded to me in Spanish and so I was already feeling more comfortable. My order was three chicken tacos and there were chips and salsa as a side. Chips were fresh, salsa medium chunky, and the tacos were delicious. Best part of the experience this time was the excellent customer service and tasty tacos Tuesday.

I have had mixed experiences with Ramirez. But that being said, the food is almost always good, and the service is not bad. - Food - I have had a range of experiences. I got the torta, and it was very mediocre. However, I got the tacos on another occasion and they were amazing. I have had mostly good experiences with the food. - Service - The service is nothing special. A pretty standard restaurant experience. - Atmosphere - The atmosphere has been a little awkward and tense a couple of times I have gone, but otherwise the restaurant seems generic. - Overall - You will have a likely good experience if you're participating in the "bar" part of this restaurant. The food is not consistent, but it usually pretty darn good.

The food was not very good. I got the enchiladas with shredded beef and my wife got a salad with ground beef. The enchilada's shredded beef was kept in a warmer way to long so it was dried out. They asked if I wanted a red sauce or green sauce over the enchilada, I asked for the red, which tasted different from any enchiladas sauce that I have had previously in both favor and consistency. It appeared the green sauce option was the same stuff that they served with the tortilla chips (this is not confirmed). The ground beef with the salad was also dried out. My wife asked to with hold the radishes, which they kitchen totally missed and there was a lot of radishes! The only good thing about the salad was the guacamole. Maybe this was a miss on our part and this was a more traditional style Mexican restaurant that we didn't connect with.

Really great experience at this restaurant. We were visiting the area and visited the restaurant on a recommendation. Staff was so friendly and accommodating to our slightly larger group. We also had an infant with us, to which server immediately asked if we would need hot water (for bottle/formula) or anything. Service was fast, accurate and efficient. Food was very tasty and great temperature. Portions were large. Tortillas were delicious. Green salsa was amazing!! Price point was reasonable given items and sizes. Attached to restaurant is small Mexican convenience store with pan dulce (sweet bread) and other specialty items. We can't wait to return when we're back in the area!!!

I applaud the staff at Ramirez. They are so incredibly consistent. The food is always really good, and some dishes are incredible. My 1st grader loves this place. And it is great to have the store and the ice-cream parlor right there under the same roof. You would be hard pressed to get a better meal at a better price, and if you did the service wouldn't be nearly as good. The employees here are way above the average you see at most restaurants. I have never left here hungry, dissatisfied, or anything less than pleased. Keep up the great work.

Food tastes okay but it so excessively greasy that it was hard to eat. There is a ring of grease on the table where the WRAPPED tortillas were sitting. The plate has a layer of grease under the food. It's a bit disappointing because the flavor was not bad.
