Watched a female employee, Elle, stand outside the shop and verbally harass an assault a man with a camera! Absolutely disgusting! She should be ashamed of herself and her boss should think twice about the type of people he employs. I won’t be returning as long as Elle works there. I know several other people who feel the same way! Shame too, as the food is awesome! Just not worth visiting again if Elle works there!

I stopped in for take-out lunch today and was very pleased with both the service and quality! They have a simple menu and clearly use fresh ingredients in their subs. Per current Washington regulations, dine-in is not allowed at this time. There is parking behind the restaurant which may be tight during busy hours, but I had no issues around 2pm. My while capicola sub ($12) was delicious and well more than I could eat in one sitting! Looking forward to trying other menu items next time. - Olympic Otter

My husband and I haven't had meconis in 3 years so we decided to get some tonight. We got there 14 minutes before they closed so thankful they took our order still. Husband ordered an Italian sandwich with no Mayo, we got back to our car and unfortunately his was caked in mayo. The guy working there was very kind and offered to remake it for him, was even kind to say he was sorry about the mishap before we left. While we were waiting I wanted to grab some condiments for my sandwich. The condiments are sitting on a different counter (away from the register) close to their kitchen entry. While grabbing my extra mayo for my sandwich I hear a female worker go, "um... ok" then another female worker speeds up to me like I am stealing something from them. They have a banter back and forth unfortunately I didn't hear but by the tone of their voices I'm assuming it wasn't nice. I grabbed the condiments, started walking back to my husband and with an attitude the female worker says something along the lines of, "were not supposed to have people past this part of the counter." Following very close behind me as I leave the area I'm not supposed to be apparently. I didn't see any signage saying I wasn't allowed to be back there or grab my own condiments. I don't appreciate attitude, and disrespect especially from something I knew nothing about. Would not come back to this establishment, and the sandwiches were better 3 years ago.. The only thing saving this place is the male worker who was working tonight. We appreciate him and his kindness.

By far one of the best sub places I've been to in my life. Back in Texas there's a place called thundercloud subs and this is the equivalent to that except better. Everything from here is fresh. The service is amazing and the food is more than adequate it's phenomenal. I would recommend this place to anyone who likes cold cut subs or really good chili.

Only one person in front of me picking up her to go order. Placed my order and got my drink. Walked up to 2 different tables that were dirty. While I was looking for a place to eat my sandwich came out of the kitchen. I was shocked, so I took the first available table that was not dirty. Was able to look out the window and see a Subway Sandwich location across the street. Really fresh bread and the meat was fresh and not pressed meat. Only gave a 4 star due to the dirty tables. Otherwisewas great sandwich!

I'm afraid to be threatened if I even attempt to visit this place. Your employees are violent and unstable. Let us know when people are welcome to freely venture near without being accosted.

I love this place when I am in Olympia. The Philly cheese steak is amazing in my opinion with my taste buds. I don't like hot or spicy foods so keep that in mind and I get mine with no onion and no peppers. Now for the reason on the service. When eating there they don't ask your name and let you know that some one will bring it out by calling your name. The place is packed at lunch time with barely enough seating. And the woman that rings you up appears to hate life. She is very nice and they provide anything and everything u need but at first appearance you would not know or it would not seem like she is approachable but she is. The staff are all amazing and polite. So hope that clarifies the mixed reviews.

It's a pretty OK sandwich shop. The ingredients seem higher quality than their chain competitors. It's usually pretty fast and well executed. The only reason I don't rate it higher is the bread is really gummy. A lot of people seem to love it, it's just not my style. The bread is most comparable to early Jimmy John's before they started reducing their quality. But, overall, they're way ahead of Subway / Jimmy John's / Jersey Mike's / etc. Don't bother going to any of those if you want that style of sandwich. Just check this place out!

excellent meatball sandwich. the marinara sauce was flavorful. only minus was - no mozzarella cheese. that would have made my day. would like to know if you can get it toasted too.

I'm only giving the food I got recently because I ordered the wrong thing when I was there the other day. I hadn't been there in a few years, and had forgotten what kind of sandwich I liked from there before. The staff is great.

Ok, I’m one of those “why would I ever buy a sandwich for that kind of money when I could make 5 at home that are better.” Meconi’s meets and exceeds this challenge. The sub was excellent! Easily a great buy for the price. The peanut butter cookie was a surprisingly good add on as well. Highly recommend!

Tuscan soup is too hot for mild spice, everything else very tasty, staff very nice, quiet, clean, fresh. We like it.

They don't really like to provide a full sandwich for 3 meats.

Just like any sub sandwich shop west of the Mississippi I was hoping it'd have more East Coast taste. 😪

Cheap sandwiches and ingredients that are barely a step up from Subway. No idea why this is the huge local favorite, I guess Olympia people have just never experienced a good sandwich spot before

Ordered door dash. They missed a whole sandwich and had no mayo on any sandwich. Apparently they don't take their time paying attention to orders. Called and got told I need to contact doordash...didn't realize doordash was responsible for you doing your job correctly. 🙄

Not sure why you would get rid of gluten free bread option. Don’t mind speaking for myself and maybe all other people who can’t eat gluten but we will happily pay more per sandwich and we were. Just charge more this business decision is idiotic

A half sandwich is a dang fine lunch and even after tip you can get out for under 10 bucks for a lunch of really good quality. Also that Coffee Joint next door makes for a good one two combo

Bread is always fresh and ordered to perfection. The sandwiches are always delicious and one of my favorite sandwich shops around!

This place is great, and it’s pretty inexpensive for what you get. The bread, meat and veggies have always been fresh, and their snickerdoodle cookie is to die for. My only complaint is that every once in a while the staff is a little ditzy.

Sandwich was great and thanks again for the amount of philly cheese steak portions. Definitely will be there again soon... However the staff is not very friendly and rather dismissive which is off putting. We'll see next time if any improvement is there

I've loved Meconi's in Olympia for what feels like 20yrs. There's nothing quite like them where I live now, so anytime I'm back in Oly I make sure to stop by if I can. Weirdly my fav sandwich is the veggie sub + bacon. I think their Italian dressing is what sets them above everyone else.

My family loves this place. Great sandwiches. Usually good service. In the last 18 years, I’ve only had one issue. I go here monthly.

Used to live near the original Meconis. They had the best sandwiches. We moved out of the area, but was back in the area one day and decided to stop at the Hawks Prairie store. It was SO disappointing. What we got was a dry lettuce sandwich. Such a shame of what they've turned into. Won't go back, ever.

Nice fast stop to grab a sandwich. Pretty busy at lunch time so make sure to give yourself a little bit of time. Sandwiches are reasonably priced. Bread was tasty. I recommend Italian sub warmed up. It's a little bit on the basic side but it's delicious!

I love the combo. Been eating at Meconi's since the 80s when half a sandwich was $2.50!!! The little red house is gone, but the quality hasn't left.

Get rid of the rude little girl you had working at 2:30pm, on Monday June 27th. Rude to the older woman asking for the rest of her meal, rude to my husband picking up a door dash. She told the lady who asked for the rest of her order rudely that "she didn't take her order" and walked away. Get better customer service dear or don't work with the public.

Not impressed at all, sadly I gave in after a few years of driving by the Olympia location and decided to grab lunch. The Philly sucked and was dry. Not sure where they learned to make a Philly but it clearly wasn't anywhere authentic. Not to mention I’ve never seen a Philly the same size as a hotdog bun. Also, $20 for a small bottle of water and 1 sandwich isn’t worth it for 1 persons lunch. Take your hard earned money else where. There are plenty of better food places in downtown that cost less money and have better quality food.

Food was good but i almost left as the girl taking our order rolled her eyes and acted like it was a huge inconvenience that we were here to order. I smiled and said hello and she didn’t respond and continued rolling her eyes. I heard them say her name as tabitha I believe! We are first timers and doubt we will come back after feeling like we weren’t wanted and were bothersome. I wanted to be so excited but it’s hard when bad attitudes in the front ruin businesses. Maybe some training? Also the ranch was clearly old, it had see through dried drippings all around it
