We were here about a year ago. Unfortunately, I have deleted that positive post. Because things have really went downhill. I am not sure what has changed, but our evening was an extreme disappointment. We chose to eat in the bar to avoid the horrible wait to get in. I understand they don't accept reservations. I'm not sure why? Our waitress never offered us water refills. that's what we were drinking. The prices are very high. If you are going to charge these prices, don't serve plastic sides cups! Tacky. Our meal was $200.00!!! My salad had hugh cuts of cucumbers. I believe I had a half of cucumber! But my salad was the best part of my meal. My husband really liked his clam chowder and his blue cheese wedge salad. Our trio appetizer was good, too. Unfortunately, the dinner was the main issue. My husband ordered his steak medium rare. It was medium well to medium. His mashed potatoes were cold. My daughter and I had Halibut. It was dry and very salty. My mashed potatoes were cold, and my green beans were overcooked. Her rice pilaf was chewy and no flavor. They need shades for the windows, I was blinded by the sun reflection from the building accross from them. The Oyster House has been a downtown stable for over 100 years! It ha a wonderful history. It is very sad to see what's happening to it.

Me and my beautiful wife visited Oyster house for the first time and enjoyed ourselves. There is outdoor seating with wonderful views of the water and the city or you can chill out at the bar or dining room, the choice is yours. I ordered a bowl of the oyster stew and thought it was ok. The oysters tasted very fresh. The stew was a bit thin, almost like a soup. Not to mention it’s prepared in some sort of cream. I personally avoid anything prepared with dairy. My wife ordered the steamed oysters and she really enjoyed them. She prefers her oysters to be on the smaller size, instead of them being large. Between the two of us, we agreed that this place deserves another visit in the future. Our waitress was prepared for the day, ready to answer whatever questions or concerns we may have had. I really appreciated how she had note cards with the days beer selection. She had a positive attitude and was really a pleasant to be around. We ordered the Dungeness Crab boil to go, and it was visually packed and prepared with love. Thank you.

Perfect place to relive our memories after 2 days across the Peninsula. Delicious and unique dishes for our group and a great location near the Capitol Building in Olympia. Not too long for a wait but we had a quick drink at the bar and walked out on the pier.

What a great location right off the water! The service was great and the food was even better. The menu is geared more towards seafood, so just keep that in mind. There is a little bit of everything on the menu, so make sure to look it over. I think the best part was the drinks, made excellent and did not feel like we were being stiffed on the alcohol.

Had my 28th birthday dinner here with my mom. Raw oysters (oyster and beer tour flight) were perfect. Fried oysters (oysters and chips) were incredible. The chips were a little too heavily seasoned for my liking but still delicious as leftovers once the seasoning kind of rubbed off in the microwave. Mom had some kind of soup and pasta with scallops. I had some of hers and it was delicious. Our server (Will, I hope I remember his name correctly), was very attentive, polite and he even gave us a birthday desert on the house I believe it was on the house anyways. We had the apple one with vanilla ice cream it was mouthwatering, apples were tart and sweet. All in all 5/5 stars, experienced no real problems. Everything was perfect. Great place to have an upscale seafood dinner with family/friends or a date with your preferred partner. The kitchen staff and Will did a perfect job. The only slight negative was the overly seasoned fries. But that's probably more on me than them, next time I would just ask for the seasoning on the side :)

Stephen was a fantastic server. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves at this restaurant. The food was very good. I want to thank Steven for a great birthday celebration. Not pictured here was the calamari appetizer. It too was tasty. Enjoy your visit.

Absolutely wonderful & delicious! Outside on the water was amazing. Food incredible! Family had boats there for mothers day. Wooden boats today! The pics are from yacht club dock but very close! You can eat by water & walk around

Good location on the water. We started with 1.5 # of clams. Awesome. I had clam chowder and clam strips and fries. These were excellent. Bottle of wine was ordered for $30. Dungess crab boil was very good. Service was efficient and friendly. View from the table were good

Our waiter was wonderful and service was great. The alcoholic beverage was decent as well for a late lunch hour. The atmosphere was nice and the simplicity of the restaurant was nice. Great natural lighting on the inside as well. As for was dining outside experience it was nice because it was a sunny and cloudy day. Only reason I gave it one less star was just flavor. I had gotten the Dungeon Crab boil I believe. It was plated nicely, but it needed more flavor or Cajun spice. When thinking of a boil, I have an expectation of spices or flavors, but this is my personal opinion. Also the kids Mac and cheese was different by using penne noodles, the flavor lacked a bit of salt. It seemed like it was just butter and cheese, but the portions for the kids meal is considerably large so that’s a perk if plan on bringing leftovers for them. My kids did eat it up later at home. Great place to go! Our waitress was super helpful in entrée recommendation for my spouse though, she was extremely pleasant and kind!

Saturday night, chilly out, and we were seated immediately. Cool building knowing it was an actual oyster processing point years ago. Really good lemon drop, homemade thousand island dressing, and the marionberry salmon plans was so delicious. And the clam chowder we’ve had in ages! Worth a visit just for it. We’re new to the area and look forward to warmer long sunny days to soak up the atmosphere

Very okay. The actual restaurant is cool - very costal with a oyster focus. If you’re lucky, a water view should accompany your seat. Staff was nice. No problems. Just the food wasn’t as great as we hoped for. It was all fine, but we’ve had better in Olympia and for lesser prices. From cocktails to crab, and calamari to clams, it was all perfectly okay. But not great. For a $100 (2 drinks, 1 app, 2 meals), I think we’d choose other places for this kinda meal again.

Great seafood selection, good portions, we had amazing service. Table served with sourdough rolls and butter. We got the clams basket, oyster flight, dozen raw oysters, fried calamari, and fried oysters. Calamari was super soft and tender. I love clam strips and it was overall yummy!

We ate dinner here for the first time in about 2 years and it was delicious. Let's start with our wait person. I'm sorry I do not remember her name but she was amazing, friendly, helpful, and very attentive to our needs. We ordered the 1/2 lobster tail for the appetizer which was ok. The reason it was just ok is I usually don't eat lobster and I remember why. Just not my thing, but don't judge the dish based on this, I'm sure to mist it would taste great. For dinner we ordered the crab pot for 2 and yum, it was fantastic. Plenty of food and great taste. The dinner rolls that came with the meal were to die for. Finally we had the brookie ala mode for desert. Wow was it so good and more than one person can eat. I highly recommend you trying this place for a wonderful meal.

Good place to have a drink and some oysters. If you are used to the gulf coast big oysters this is not the place as the local oysters are small but pack with great flavors. We order the oyster platter which had 5 oyster and 5 brews 5onz each. It was a good deal and a nice area to walk around and explore. I highly recommend this place.

Great food, great service, great atmosphere any time of day. I come here all the time with my family (including small children) and we are treated right, served well, and leave satisfied and full Every. Single. Time. Never had an issue with an order, cleanliness, or food quality. This is my go to for anyone visiting from out of town! Hands down one of the best places to eat in Olympia!!

The service was different depending on the person. The best part was the oysters on half shell. The other things were all just ok. I wouldn’t recommend most of the things we got. The interior is nice and the staff was kind.

The service was amazing, very attentive. I had a bloody Mary with an oyster on top, it was flavorful and delicious. For my meal I had the half portion of the seafood sautee, the half portion was more then enough, very fresh and full of flavor. Prices are more then reasonable, I am comparing to California prices and this is so cheap lol

Cool spot. Service was top notch. Food was good and the appetizer was unique. Not an everyday spot for me but definitely a great way to enjoy the water or a special night.

Food is cooked very well and to order. The oysters are local and amazing. The options you have ensures that there is something for everyone. The wait staff are always engaging and a treat to work with. The birthday brookie was much appreciated as well. Their drinks are made well and not over/under poured. They're pretty delicious. This place is top notch and we'll be going back for sure.

The waitress was AMAZING! The food was good, the atmosphere was fun. The oyster bar sample was nice and weird. The total bill with drinks, appetizer, two entrees, and desserts with tip was $140. An experience everyone should try at least once ( from a non-seafood lover lol).

Food is legit. Oysters were super fresh and delish we ended up getting 3 dozen. The ribeye steaks were also solid. Great vibe as live music was playing in the back patio when we were there having drinks waiting for a table.

I will be coming back here again. My favorite part was the fact its dog friendly, they took such good care of my boy. Our server was amazing!!! King crab legs were superb, the view was great. I even got a pearl necklace that the server dug out of an oyster. Amazing experience!!

Fresh oysters and tantalizing seafood for your taste buds. We had a wonderful lunch with a varied menu for portions, styles, and prices this is a prime location to enjoy seafood eats. The grilled cod tacos, shrimp tacos, lobster dinner, crab boil, fried oysters, and Bloody Mary's w/a fresh Oyster on the half shell made for a happy bunch.

I recently had the pleasure of joining some friends and dining at Olympia Oyster House and was thoroughly impressed with my experience. The location is great, situated right on the waterfront with views of the water. The interior is well decorated, neat and clean, making for a comfortable and inviting atmosphere. Despite the volume of people they were attending to, the service was decent and attentive. However, the real star of the show was the food. The "bivalve assassin" was serving up an incredible variety of Pacific Ocean oysters, each one better than the last. For entrees; I firmly believe there’s many stellar options on the menu. I particularly enjoyed the boiled king crab. The Cajun calamari appetizer was also a highlight, with just the right amount of spice and perfectly crispy. Overall, I would highly recommend Olympia Oyster House to anyone looking for a delicious seafood meal in a beautiful location. Don't miss out on their incredible selection of oysters!
