It was good from the start. Ample parking, clean facility. Greeted right away with friendly service. Did I mention they serve breakfast all day. Prime rib on Fridays after 5pm and garlic fries. :) The food came out nice and hot. Hand breaded Alaskan wild caught cod and hand breaded local oysters. So a variety for all tastebuds. I also loved the music choice playing Saturday around 4pm.

2nd time here for the wife and I. We really enjoy the food and the service is top notch. Shipwreck Cafe is on the go back to list. We've only had breakfast so lunch and dinner we don't know about just yet. All in good time. Oh and killer Bloody Mary. Just check out my before and after pic's of my plate. Great food!

For a Monday morning this place was hopping. Our waitress was the only server in the back room and she was keeping it flowing. Great service. Clean establishment and great food. Very impressed that this young gal keep all the tables happy. The Biscuits were light and fluffy and you could taste the sausage in the gravy. My son’s plate was full of food for the price and he loved it. We will be back for more. Well worth a trip out to Mud Bay for breakfast.

Got the prime rib (available on Fri and Sat) with a side of asparagus and chowder fries (yes, that's fries with clam chowder on top). The prime rib was delicious! The chowder fries were amazing - honestly, the chowder itself was so good I should have just gotten a side of soup. Perhaps, the most impressive: The asparagus was perfect. Cooked just right with a bit of garlic. Super friendly staff as well. I honestly feel stupid for taking so long to try the Shipwreck Cafe. It's awesome, and I'll be back.

Since we were staying in a holiday home nearby for a few days, we wanted to try out all the breakfast restaurants we could consider. On the first day we went to Shipwreck Cafe simply because it was closest and had good reviews. You can guess where we had breakfast on the other days: Of course also in the Shipwreck Cafe. They simply serve exactly what we think of as a perfect American breakfast. Locals later confirmed to us that it is indeed the best breakfast location in the area. Come early to avoid waiting times!

Got the Loco moco breakfast and I enjoyed it. Was lucky to come upon this place its not really big but it's comfortable. To me the best express there was the server we got. I can not remember her name but she has been there for yrs and just had this great personality. The younger servers should follow her and learn from her. Example if you are pouring coffee for your customers check to see if the other tables need a top up. Remember it's one team

The space could use some modernization, but the food is very good. Probably the best hash browns in Olympia. The specials are fun, today was pulled pork scramble. Definitely an underrated breakfast stop in the South Sound.

Ok my fourth time here, I normally get the triple double and garlic fries. This time I got the "Double Spoiler", it did not disappoint. If you haven't been, ya need to go. You will not be sorry. Unless good food and good service is not your thing.

Came for breakfast. Service was 5 stars but slightly missed on the food. Don't get me wrong it tasted good, but they missed some order notes. My wife loves her eggs browned. They weren't. She ordered the captains breakfast. She's always hesitant on having them cooked more in fear of being argued with as it happens more often than not. So she opted not to eat her food. She also thought her pancakes along with her hash browns could be cooked slightly longer. I ordered the hangover, which was a huge pile of hashbrowns, sausage gravy, eggs, bacon, and sausage. Mine tasted really good, but I agree the hashbrowns could have been cooked slightly longer as well. My sausages were cooked, but had to have been sitting for a while before rest of food was plated, they were barley warm when brought to table. My son ordered the shipmates breakfast and a hot chocolate. He wasn't happy with the sausage as he said it was to spicy, but enjoyed his pancakes.

Man it's HOT out there. And during those times this is a great little pit stop off the freeway to get a THIRST QUENCHING Strawberry lemonade or a bite to eat! This cafe offers a small drive through where you can order anything you could order on the menu inside from your vehicle!! The lady in the photo was super nice and had a very warm vibe to her. Definitely a great little cafe.

We have driven by the Shipwreck Cafe for years. The parking lot is always full. Now we know why! Circumstances had us leaving the house before breakfast, so by the time late morning came and we were headed back home, we were hungry and I was debating: do I make lunch or breakfast when we get home? But, we were less than a mile from the Shipwreck Cafe. So we decided to stop. We are so glad we did! We were seated immediately. The restaurant was very clean, and the service was friendly. But the food! Portions are generous and everything was cooked to perfection. I had the French Toast, Bacon (crisp) and scrambled eggs. The eggs were fluffy and not overcooked like many places. My husband had the Denver Omelet. It too was fluffy, the veggies were fresh, and the ham was not the pre-packaged diced ham that many chain restaurants use. It was smoked ham, that I would guess was diced in house. I cannot say one negative thing about the Shipwreck Cafe. What I can say? This is our new favorite breakfast stop, and we will be back. I can't wait to see what's for lunch!

Always a place you can count on for three things: friendly staff, lots of food, and reasonable prices. This is always a must if my wife and I have time to have brunch together on a weekday morning. Good GF options for my wife and awesome oyster dishes all day.

We stopped in the Shipwreck Cafe on our way to Seattle. We love this restaurant, The food was absolutely delicious & the service was the best, Much better customer service than any fancy high dollar restaurant. They have some fantastic pictures of shipwrecks & a very warm atmosphere. Me lady had the French toast & she said it was the best she had ever had. I had Corned Beef hash & eggs cooked to perfection, our meals came out very quickly. The food here is worth the stop if you're out this way. You will not be disappointed. The restrooms are very clean. They also have a drive up & outdoor seating for when the weather is good. We want to thank the owners for making a restaurant experience that is superb in many ways.

Nice place! Was just looking for someplace different for breakfast. Easy on/off access to US101/Hwy 8. Decent parking. Monday morning so it was full but didn't have to wait. They will make omelets/scrambles with fresh eggs to avoid the milk in the boxed egg mix. Large slices of whole wheat toast. Don't need "extra toast" if you split an omelet; which we did. Had the chilie/cheese omelet. Was very good. Lots of nautical items around including wrecked ship pictures, although no descriptions as to which ones they are. This is definitely a place we'll return to.

The Place ;~} For breakfast on Mud Bay since before time began. Shipwreck Cafe's assumption of the place previously known as The Place felt like an untangling of crossed wires in the history of the area. I'll explain: Shipwreck Cafe was originally on Martin Way in Lacey and Shipwreck Beads located on Mud Bay Dr. Shipwreck Beads then moved a few times before settling in Lacey where they opened a cafe inside their store. It was during this time that I worked at Shipwreck Beads and would regularly field calls for Shipwreck Cafe by people mistakenly thinking Shipwreck Beads hosted Shipwreck Cafe (their cafe was called The Galley.) During this time The Place seemed to struggle with quality and consistency but still continued on as a staple of the Westside. With the future of The Place in question Shipwreck Cafe took over and for a brief time there were two Shipwreck Cafe locations before they closed the Lacey restaurant to focus on The Place location with many of the same faces from both The Place and Shipwreck Cafe. If you're still following me after this ramble... While I lament the loss of The Place the transition to Shipwreck Cafe felt both necessary and welcome which shows in how they've settled in to continue providing good eats in a historical location. They have done a remodel since last time I was there and everything looks great!

I got lunch for about $18. BLT and tots were good! I'd go back. Service was quick for take out, but don't trust the drive through, just walk in. Laid back nautical decor. Not fancy but about what you'd expect from a brunch place. You could totally bring kids here. Parking was plentiful. Looked like lots of tables were open.

Second trip here and easily matches the quality of food and service of the first time. Opened a little later due to the cold weather and icy roads but we were close enough to the opening time that we waited in the car. As we rolled in we could smell the coffee and the grills warming up. Server was super friendly and attentive. Once again, the coffee cups never emptied past half full and our meals came out super timely. The wife opted for the meat lovers omelette which was LOADED with ham, bacon, & sausage. So much she couldn’t quite finish. My CFS, the gold standard of breakfasts, was done quite well and served with the perfect amount of gravy. They served both of our toast orders on one plate and it was a mountain of thick cut sourdough. The topper, though was the way my eggs were cooked. I had the most absolutely perfect over medium-well eggs EVER!! Whites were firm as was the edge of the yolk but still enough to dunk a corner of my toast. I think the highest compliment I could ever offer would be that if I were ever to own a cafe like this, I would do it EXACTLY the same!! I think the public agrees because the traffic in the front door was ridiculous.

This is a nice little place just off a major highway in northwest Olympia-- that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I was there for a late lunch with my wife. The server was very busy but very professional and efficient. She did an outstanding job of taking care of us in a friendly & efficient manner. I had the fish and chips (fries) that came with a small side of Cole slaw. The fish was more done than I'm used to- but still quite tasty. The tartar sauce that came with it seemed to be homemade and was really delicious. The fries were excellent and had a nice flavor. The Cole slaw was ok. The Cafe was appropriately decorated with pictures of old shipwrecks. Overall- it's a very nice place. I would love to go back to try breakfast.

Amazing food. French dip is always on spot and fresh fish n chips are a winner too. Really you can't go wrong with anything here. Average dish been $10-15 so for our family of 6 it's reasonable. We take all of our out of town visitors to eat here!

Very clean the staff was so friendly, kept my coffee full checked on us, and wasn't a long wait for food parking is small but there was a bunch people here, and they looked like regulars, so that's speaks volumes in its itself. I would come back and have a mimosa. My sister dropped 500.00, and the waitress picked it up and returned it to her. 5💥in service and help

The food was really good, and it was very nice to see the Gluten Free options! This stop and the food made my trip from Seattle to Long Beach more enjoyable! Everything was cooked perfectly, and the waiter even made it a point to tell me which sides were safe for me to eat. It's pretty obvious they need a third person in the restaurant. I waited at least 10 minutes to be acknowledged, and 15 minutes to be seated, and there were only three other parties in the restaurant. They have a take out window with signs indicating you may wait a while, because the wait staff is serving customers inside. There were signs on the counter insisting, "Be nice to out staff. They deserve it!" It's not the staff's fault, but they were clearly overwhelmed. Our party of 6 had 3 kids in it, and all three drinks were spilled, because there were no lids on the cups. We cleaned up 2/3 spills, but they insisted we leave one alone, and they would clean it after we left. This resulted in kids slipping and soda on my clothes from their feet. The waiter didn't even take our dessert order, he just wanted us gone. Overall, I would go back for the food, but be prepared for a wait and be a little more aggressive about ordering dessert if you want it. They have a giant honey bun the kids were really excited about.

I've been here twice now. The first time I had the Loco Moco, which is served on hash browns here. Today I had the bacon cheeseburger. It was cooked to a perfect medium rare, and created a puddle of grease for me to soak my fries in. Wash it all down with a Blue Moon, and it's a good day.

Yum! Had the fried oyster and French toast. I was impressed with one of the staff members doing 3 jobs- host, waitress and busgirl. Kudos to you!

Great burgers! Excellent service. Only thing I would put as a suggestion is for your online ordering add an option to put a note so if the customer wants their food a special way they can note it for their orders. Other than that top notch all around!

My wife and I really enjoyed breakfast at the Shipwreck Cafe! Service was top notch, and everyone really hustled. Both of us had a great breakfast (I had the chicken fried steak, and Lynda had the captain's breakfast), with generous portions of tasty food. Greta experience, tasty comfort food--we will definitely be back!

Thanks for the GREAT staff, yummy and always reliable food (only place I can get eggs over-med right every time). Outdoor dining and drive through pickup for those of us still COVID weary. The Shipwreck Cafe is a regular go-to breakfast spot for us but lunch and dinner are good too — although I’m pretty sure they do breakfast ALL DAY! I think they need a HWY sign on 101 that reads “Last Great Food for ## Miles Exit Here” 😋

Lovely brunch spot! Had a great time with my boyfriend! Prices are a little steep, but it’s understandable as the food is amazing! Staff is super kind and attentive, would definitely come back here!!

Good food and great service! I had fried oysters, fries, and coleslaw. The oysters were local and very big. The fries seemed like they were breaded, which I don't care for. My husband had a bacon cheese burger and fries. It was a big burger and he said it was very good. There was only one waitress, and she was also the hostess, so she was really hustling, but she was cheerful and attentive to everyone. I'm glad we took a chance and ate there. I would go there again.
