2022 Feb 15 TUE ~10:00 ~40s_F, Swee and i arrived at MIllersylvania State Park. From the parking area, we went CCW on the (Alltrails so-called) "Northwest Loop". The Trails were in good condition, good signage, and reasonably well-maintained. And as expected - there were few muddy sections - easily passable. Also, the Boardwalks crossing the Swamp were in good condition too. The Forest was lovely luscious green. And we were fortunate, and excited to see, touch and (gently) hugged that Giant Tree (guesstimated @ ~6 ft diameter?) 😊😊 On the Trails - we encountered a total of ~10 people and 3 dogs. At the Deep Lake Fishing Jetty, we saw 3 people fishing. Everyone was cheery, friendly and courteous. Happy Trails Everyone! Stats (per AllTrails): Distance ~5.0 mi / Total Time 2:37 / EG 213 ft

Made a reservation online. Check in is at 2:30 we arrived later and had to do the self check in which is hassle and stress free. Camping areas are spacial and well maintained with water and bathrooms nearby. We were in space 80 which did get really loud at night and did wake our family up through out the night. Areas in the 20s seem to be more secluded and quiet. There's an awesome hiking trail near space 24 and the lake was enjoyable. It does get busy so I suggest getting a spot as early as possible. Bathrooms are cleaned throughout the day and well kept. Overall great camping experience and we will be returning this summer!

Clean and well maintained park with rentals for SUP, kayaks, and canoes. Multiple restrooms, some with changing rooms and coin op showers. The concession stand offers a variety of food as does the beer and wine garden. Regular as well as luxury camping is available. There are plenty of public use kitchens as well as grills. Discovery pass is needed but day use tickets can be bought via kiosk.

Beautiful park with camping. Lots of old trees and a nice lake that's ideal for non-motorized boats, kayaks, SUPs, and swimming. Unlike many lakes, it is NOT surrounded by houses on all banks. In fact, I noticed only one structure on the south west end of the lake - perhaps some lucky person who happens to be the only homeowner on the lake. I visited on Saturday afternoon in the last week of June, so there were quite a few people, but the park is large enough to not make one feel crowded.

The campsites are spacious. The lake has a couple of places to swim that are enclosed with buoys. The multiple amount of picnic tables and places to sit , make it unique.) There's a little cider house in the woods in the summertime . The lakeside ,)

Amazing camp area. Went there with my church family to camp for a week. The bathrooms were always clean and they had people clean and refill TP on it every day. The rangers we encountered were friendly and the swimming area was beautiful. The bathrooms and showers down there were clean as well. Hot water was 1 token for 3 minutes and the cold water was free. The area was quiet and no mosquitos or flies during out time there.

Millersylvania State Park was AWESOME to RV camp at in late September! Surprisingly, it was quite busy with almost every available spot taken for (Tent, RV, and cabin) but can understand with how nice the weather has been, averaging in the mid 70's. The trails were easy to walk using a walking stick and smelled so rich with nature. We really needed to unplug and am grateful we have these parks to do so. The Forest Rangers were all very nice and do a great job in maintaining the Park. Definitely recommend and look forward to visiting again...

Great trails. We visited on a spur of the moment decision to take the camper out in late October. The campground is well appointed and the trails take you through marsh and old growth cedars. Looking forward to coming back in summer.

Camping area and sites were fantastic, clean and well kept. The per night price was reasonable for the site. The same can be said for the facilities around the sites as well. Trails were marked, and each spur from a trail had a map with a location marker. Trails were clear of debris, were very scenic and well maintained. Fishing dock and boat launch were in good condition and easily accessible, and had adequate facilities such as bathrooms, showers and concessions near. Staff and volunteers were courteous and very helpful. Firewood was available to purchase at the entrance of the camping sites through the Boy Scouts, and a $5.00 bundle of wood was more than enough for 2 nights stay. Overall this park is an excellent place to experience the outdoors of Washington, and is easily one of the best parks the state has to offer (which it's important to note that I have yet to discover one that didn't exceed expectations).

Love kayaking at deep lake. We love the shady picnic area and swimming is fun too. Lots of little blue gills biting my line. There's also a snack/bar there!

Wet and rainy weekend (4 day weekend). Of course, rainy, doesn't mean unpleasant or horrendous downpour. Well, on Saturday, it was too heavy to be out for long. Cold this time of year, so we rented the lakeside cottage. Heated with full kitchen, so we spent time inside, reading and playing games. We spent a morning hiking a trail (Old Growth Lane). A mix of wetland (very high water -it's raining) and upland old growth. The high ground was a rain forest setting. Ferns up to 3 ft and a thick ground cover of other plants. The trees were thick trunked. The Fen Way Boardwalk got us over the wettest areas and the 'lane' had been built up in a levee style at the north end of the fen. Very pleasant. Even on the rainiest day, there were some people out. The three 'kitchens' are open with plenty of air moving. No lights and the heavy clouds and rainy meant it was dark Saturday morning. Otherwise, they were quite airy and well lighted the other days. Several other trails of interest we didn't have time for but did do the half mile picnic area and beach areas (2) along Deep Lake.

Loved this state park. We didn’t use the lake but it is large and lots of others caught fish. The RV camp sites are nice and ours backed to a walking trail. There are lots of trails through the forest. Lots of kids when we went and our kids had a blast. The ranges were super nice and the volunteers as well. Beautiful place to camp.

Our camping site was really nice and large with a lot of tree cover with soft pine needle covered dirt that is perfect for tent camping. The burn ban was still in effect but we brought a propane fire pit and although it wasn't the same as a real camp fire, it did the job. The bathrooms were clean and there are even pay showers (50 cents- quarters only for 3 minutes of wonderfully hot water) We spent the last day of summer swimming in the lake (I wish they would still do the paddle board/kayak rentals until the start of fall, but they don't, no beer garden or concessions either after a certain date). The park rangers were friendly but make no mistake, they do their job and do it well. They do check extra cars for a receipt to park at the site and they make sure rules are being followed in order to protect the land. There are a variety of different birds, it's not just crows so you will hear a lot of different bird sounds. There are many trails to enjoy here, we only explored two so far but we will be back for the rest. We hiked on the first day of fall, first rains in a long time came with it so we pretty much had the trails to ourselves. Don't worry about getting lost because there are signs at every intersection. I can tell you the boardwalk trail is very easy and the smaller loop by the Old Growth trail had one little hill, I would consider it easy as well. You can see some old growth trees between the boardwalk and upper loop trails. It was a nice hike. I do want to let everyone know that dogs are not allowed in the designated swim areas but there are plenty of other areas on the lake you can sit and enjoy with your pups.

Went fishing with my kids. Nice lake, despite the fact we didn't catch anything. The male restroom can use some repairs. The door was missing from the toilet stall in the shower/restroom

absolutely love camping here. we’ve made it our regular family camp ground, no play ground i know of but sandy lake beaches for sand castles and plenty of trails for nature walks. there’s a nice little orchard with picnic tables for day use and a concessions stand by the lake with ice cream! the mango sorbet is 10/10. hoping the bridge is fixed on the walking path next year when we go :)

The trails at this state park are super easy with children and well marked. There is a map every fork or turn. It’s easy to read and keeps you in the right direction. All the boardwalk areas in the trail are well maintained. It’s a beautiful walk and the whole trial system at this state park is easily finished in one visit. There are tons of picnic areas and a lot of restroom options by the lake. The state park history is at the entrance of the park and they even have a state park little store/gift shop opened until 4 on the weekdays.

I've been coming to this camp ground since I was a kid. Now I'm taking my kids and grandson. Sites are kept clean, bathrooms are also clean with shower access. The lake is great, big area that's roped off for swimming. You can go beyond the ropes and float your tube all across the lake. I will continue taking my kids and grandkids for as long as I can.

A fantastic campsite, easy to book online. Clean toilets and shower. A beautiful lake and you can hire kayaks and canoes, and also swim. There was a hiking trail which we didn't manage to do. You can order wood online and they will deliver it to you.

We went here for the first time camping and it was an awesome experience. We were also here for the heat wave so had fun swimming in the lake as well. The only draw back was that we didn't catch any fish and my husband fished for like 4 hours. Other then that it was amazing

This is nice place to visit on hot day, there's plenty of wildlife like Frogs, Duck, Geese, Racoon and Deer (wife took pictures of the wildlife). The Bathrooms definitely need to be well kept better, so if you go # 2 I suggest you bring your own toilet paper and hand soap. The bathroom sink doesn't have hot water. ..Anyway, the scenery is beautiful and I am sharing my pictures.

This place is great! The camp grounds were clean, with greenery between sites for a little bit of privacy. The restrooms were in good enough order. The lake is devine! It wasn't cold, muddy, or mucky. It was great for swimming and floating around on. The hiking trails were nice. A great time was had by all!

A great campground, lots of space for large trailers and RVs. My boyfriend and I spent one night here, we didn't have a reservation but found a site. Power and water hook up for our RV and a dump station not too far away. Showers were great, plenty of hot water and no tokens needed. $40 for the night, I will be back for sure.

A usually quiet and low traffic hike. It's gorgeous. Like you're visiting giants or elves, no longer on earth as we know it. ✨

Overall, the campground is amazing. Located near a lake. The scenery is beautiful. All the trails are well marked. Every trail intersection has a map. We noticed three well marked swimming locations. We will definitely be back!

Millersylvania is a nice park. Easy to get to and during the Winter not very crowded. It has numerous trails and has maps at almost every juncture that shows you where you are. Trails are well maintained and No trash. The people that utilize the Park help keep it clean. There are no trash cans on the trail but yet no trash most people pick-up after their dogs. There is campground in the Park and a Ranger station and staff is visible and it is well maintained.

Beautiful state park with a lake, forest, day use area and campground. Campground has tent camping, back in and pull through RV sites, 30 amp service, water and a dump station. Located conveniently off of I-5.

The park is well run and obviously we'll loved by most people. For us, it was just too loud. But if you're up for party vibes it could be great. Lots of kids, so good for families with little people.

Another great place to do the American Red Cross 15 mile swim challenge! Kid friendly pet friendly and the only State Park I know that has a beer garden with fried pickles!!! Does it get any better? These Rangers know their visitors are smart and curious and respectful and responsible. 50 stars!!!

  • 5/5 Christopher P. 1 year ago on Google
Awesome! Place to camp, clean bathrooms. Wonderful employees. Their gift shops and ranger station and such are always open when they say they're going to be and they don't really technically have firewood for sale. They were out, but those are very small complaints in. If you're camping, you might as well be prepared before you get out there. So all in all it would have got the five stars but giving five stars is like getting no room for improvement. Highly recommend

Campsites were really nice looking but we just went to kayak. Extremely clean and great facilities. Update! Camped there all weekend and it was really clean and well maintained except for the markings on the roads inside. Really easy to get turned around and you can't see a single arrow until you get are on top of it.

It's been over 10 years since I've been here. It's a beautiful park and can go camping as well. Nice clean lake to go swimming or boating. There is quite a few areas for those that prefer to be in the shade.
