Gorgeous setting with large pine trees and we’ll kept landscaping. Very convenient location. Great place to walk our dog. Glad they are pet friendly. Disappointed the beautiful outdoor pool was closed. I was told it was because it needed renovation and the management didn’t want to spend the thousands of dollars to fix it. The front clerk comped us breakfast because we were disappointed about the pool, but the hotel is still charging the same if not more for rooms this summer. The rooms were also a bit lacking. They were clean and the beds were comfortable but pretty sparse and on the border of looking old - the couch and chairs etc. But the rooms were big and the shower was nice. The staff was nice, including the bartender. Nice bar and restaurant.

Hotel location is lovely, if you're in a room that has a view. The front desk person was quite nice. The ground floor entrance doors were difficult to open, especially with luggage/packages. There is no directional signage, so locating my room was a challenge. The sleeping room itself was tidy, but with no convenient plugs for electrical by the bed or couch. The rug in my room had a turned up edge, creating a trip hazard. The bathroom showed a real need for remodeling, especially between the tub and toilet where there were signs of peeling paint. There are no grab bars in the tub area, which is a big safety issue for me. There was also a used towel left behind hanging over the shower bar. There were no ice machines on the floor, at least not nearby or indicated. I had requested a balcony room and was very disappointed to be on the ground floor. I didn't feel safe there.

Stayed 2 nights and had a wonderful experience. Rooms were cleaned could have been maybe a little more dusted but they were much cleaner than most. Staff was pretty nice, lounge was nice. Fire alarm due to semi hitting sprinkler not great but staff was good about it all. I would definitely stay again

I was there to catch the transport to Seatac. Receptionist was friendly and helpful!

Nice spot with friendly service. The room we stayed in had non-carpeted floors which I think people with allergies would appreciate. Appears to be newly redone throughout and re-branding as part of IHG. Free coffee in the lobby and also a espresso bar in the lobby until 11 AM. Restaurant is very nice with a view overlooking the lake. If I was reviewing anything else besides the hotel I would probably say five stars but on a hotel scale I’d have to say four stars.

I recently stayed at The Olympia Hotel at Capitol Lake as I was a judge for the Miss Washington 2023 Competition. The front desk staff were very friendly, and the restaurant wait staff at breakfast and lunch were quick and attentive. I especially loved the bacon and fruit at the breakfast buffet each morning. My room was quite comfortable, and housekeeping kept my room tidy everyday. The meeting rooms were spacious, and the banquet room for the final night gala was beautiful. This experience made my first visit to Olympia most memorable!

Don't stay here. The area has so many better options. The room wasn't clean, the stairwell carpet wasn't clean, there was mildew on the grout in the shower, the window was single pane and lacked a screen, etc. The staff are attempting to take care of the guests, but the property ownership isn't taking care of the building. Oh, and there's no complimentary breakfast.

We were there for an event my daughter had planned. They're remodeling rooms and halls, but we were there for the weekend, and there was no noise. Other than having a patron smoking pot in one of the rooms in the quad, which the staff took care of immediately, we had a good stay. All the staff were courteous and friendly. The beds were really comfortable.

I am writing this review to highlight the EXCELLENCE of the PM and Engineering Lead staff member Chris. Long story short, a bunch of different guests were booked into the hotel over the weekend. My significant other and I checked into our room and it had not been properly cleaned... to an extent that we were not comfortable staying in that room. We went to the front desk and the friendly staff there called in Chris. Chris went above and beyond by personally getting us into the last remaining room. He offered to conduct a cleaning, again personally by him, for the new room (we declined but appreciated the effort). Chris was professional, friendly, and helped us get fair accommodations. We really appreciate his help. His above and beyond customer service ensured that we would bring our business back to this establishment. For the hotel structure itself and the rooms... The building is old and shows some wear and tear. But generally it is clean and the views are pleasant. Nicely wooded area that is a relatively short drive from the highway. Very convenient location. I think the accommodations are fair for the very reasonable price point.

This hotel is so wonderful. The staff is incredibly nice. Everyone is so helpful. This is one of my favorite hotels now. We can’t wait to come back. The restaurant is a little pricey but the food is excellent even on a limited menu. The rooms are huge and have balconies. The grounds are great to walk around either in the mornings or in the evenings. It’s just been a pleasant stay.

Seriously? This hotel is very well situated, it's big and the restaurant and some rooms offer nice views on the forest. But that's about it. It should be torn down and rebuilt, period. From the first step in the lobby, you can't but notice the dirty rug that nobody took time to rearrange, the couch is ripped off, and the front desk looks like someone removed the panels. The smell is terrible, dirt and mold, and pervasive through the hallways and our bedroom, which was rather clean compared to the rest of the facility, except for the mold on the draperies. The bad smell was so strong that it was hard to sleep and the old AC didn't help. We had booked for 10 nights and stayed only one. The front desk staff were nice though and understood our concerns. Someone shared the same opinion so I won't extend my comments, but avoid the place until they remodel it.

So far it's been another good stay. No comp breakfast as there is a restaurant on site. Espresso Cafe opens at 6 and lobby coffee is available. Pool was closed for season a little early, but I don't think it's that unusual. The nice weather this September is probably what's unusual. Reason I mention it is that they have an entirely under advertised, rather large and nice outdoor pool area. I wish I had known. I would have stayed here months ago. I feel it's a cut above the familiar chains local offerings in the same price range. Friendly and knowledgeable front desk, large rooms, park like grounds Somewhat secluded location. Close to the Capitol and state government. Very quiet as far as traffic and homeless activity compared to the other places I've stayed near Olympia. Trade off is that there aren't fast food places right across the street. It's well worth a short drive for me to have grounds you can enjoy, a more secure parking lot. And a generally quiet professional clientele. ( Based on a couple work weeks 2x(3 nights) I've stayed here. Now that it's on my radar this will be my first choice when working in Olympia.

I've been staying here a few times a year for about 10 years and am very impressed with the new management. I recently had an emergency come up where I needed some assistance and they handled it very quickly and with grace. Russell in particular has great customer service skills and will make it far in their career with their positive attitude and thoughtful nature. Other than great staff, the hotel has been updated in the last 5 years to nice hardwood floors in units and newer, more modern decor. There is a nice area behind the hotel to walk your dog and take them to the bathroom if you have a little pet but none of the rooms smell like pet which is beyond nice and not terribly common in pet friendly hotels. The restaurant has always been beautiful and delicious. Personally I would choose this over the two pricier, newer hotels in Olympia in a heartbeat if I were visiting from out of town.

I liked it here. The rooms were clean and the staff were nice. Food in the bar/restaurant was great. The staircase was tiny but the elevator was fast. Docking one star because there was no free coffee and no HDMI ports on the TV. Overall will definitely stay here again because it's nice enough for the price.

Staff was very friendly and helpful but the hotel needs some upkeep and maintenance work. The dining area and lobby have had recent upgrades but the rooms and especially the hallways are getting quite threadbare. Carpets on the stairways are beyond dirty. A bit expensive for the quality of the stay. Cannot say enough about the staff though, as all were helpful and we got our room changed to one somewhat better when we asked, but I wouldn't stay here again.

Great, friendly and inviting staff! Taz was always smiling and greeted us with a positive attitude and appreciation for being at their hotel. The on-site restaurant and coffee bar are places you do not want to skip (try the fish and chips)! Did I mention their night bar? Rachel too was always friendly and willing to go the extra mile to make or stay and meals that much better. When we return to Washington we know where we will be staying :) Looking forward to the upcoming renovation

The good, located in a beautiful Forest just a mile or so from downtown Olympia. The unfortuate: Lack of room service prevented us from checking in on time. Service desk couldn't tell us when it would be ready. Finally, 45 minutes later than our check-in time, we were able to get into a room. We didn't have any noise issues as we were on the top floor. The room had a hint of tobacco, like it used to be a smoking room many years back. Finally it was time to go to bed, so I pulled back the sheet because there was no comforter, and there was no sheet on the bed?? So we called the front desk and asked them to drop some sheets off. After dropping them off outside our front door on the floor and not even knocking to let us know, the fitted sheet they dropped off was for a queen and not a king. So we called again and ask for a fitted sheet that would fit our bed. Someone brought up another fitted sheet and when my wife asked if this fit a king size bed he snapped back at her and said it's straight from the laundry room. It was still the wrong size. We managed to get it to grip on to the pillow top casing on top of the mattress and slept that way. When we checked out they did lower our rate to $99 a night. But I think this review is self-explanatory, we would never go back and don't recommend anyone else to stay here either. When somebody has enough money to do the proper maintenance and hire the proper staff this could be an amazing place to stay. Our view was a nice grassy area with the pool covered with a large tarp that has apparently been out of service for some time. I've never had to review a hotel this poorly at $150 a night.

This place has a lot of potential. But maintenance is poor. The rooms themselves seem decently clean but anything from the front desk to the room is run down, smells, and dirty. None of the three ice machines I saw were working. Got to our room with a pile of sheets just sitting in front of the door. As you drive in, people living in their cars all along the road. One car outside of our room looked like someone was living there. three stars because it’s at least somewhat appropriately priced at $100/night.

This pace gets a 4 because it was dated and not the fanciest but it served its purpose. I was on the 2nd floor and it looked like my bathroom had been remodeled in the last couple years so that was good. Staff was great. Location is secluded and quiet.

This place is closed. We had a reservation for today made on 11 Dec. The whole parking lot is fenced off. I called IHG and they said that the points we used for the reservation were refunded 4 days ago but the hotel never contacted us...

Alynn at the front desk went above and beyond with excellent customer service. Sadly this hotel needs to be upgraded. I remember staying here years ago and it was a Deluxe hotel. The service was excellent, The staff was friendly, And the food at breakfast was sufficient. BUT our room needed work. The sink in the bathroom would back up when you brushed your teeth, The wallpaper in the bathroom is coming off, The hinges on the door are very rusty, The chair for us to sit in snagged my blouse, There were bugs on the window frame by our table when we went to breakfast. And the pool is closed and doesn't have a reopen date in sight.

The hotel was fine, if a little dataed. Check in was easy and the room was clean. The food could be better, but the bar, in particular Rachel was outstanding. She really kept the place running both nights we were there (not easy without much staff and a convention in town). Keep bartenders like her happy, she really made it great at night for myself and several friends. Bill

Great beds! Be sure to ask for upper levels! It was very noisy on the 1st floor. Pet friendly. Dogs barking 24/7. 9 min. to great restaurants.

Staff was AMAZINGLY friendly and the location is pretty great. That being said, the pool and hot tub were closed for the summer, which is something I wish we'd known before checking in. The room had an unpleasant odor and wasn't cleaned very well (food on the ac, nut shells on the floor). No soap in the bathroom. Vending machine was out of everything except diet coke, which came out HOT, and room service came pounding at exactly 11 am to make sure we'd vacated our mediocre stay. We had a good laugh about it all, definitely have seen worse.

Would have been a higher rating (4 star) but for insect bites (spider probably?- read on) The location is good, although not in city center, it is just a short drive away. The rooms are spacious although dated and could use a refresh. Beds/pillows are comfortable. Shower/bathroom was clean and adequately sized. Water pressure and temperature were great. The lobby area is huge and has a nice warm welcoming atmosphere. The restaurant is also spacious and has nice views. There is no complimentary breakfast nor coffee (that I'm aware of) and no coffee machines in the room. The Issue - we stayed only one night and my wife and I woke up to multiple insect bites probably a spider but never found/saw the culprit. They deficiently were NOT bed bugs as the bites became large welts and had characteristics of a spider bite (but again who knows). These things do happen, unfortunately. We did not notify management as we had an early am departure but I plan on calling and letting them know!

I was impressed with the efficient check-in and very friendly front desk team. Great greeting! The setting is lovely, the rooms neat and clean. I really thought this was an incredible value. However, the restaurant is very poorly managed and not guest friendly. They feature only bar food, burgers, fries, etc. and it was mediocre at best. But the manager is who ruined my experience. She argued with me about a very minor request, and acted like I was asking too much. I travel a lot. I wasn’t asking for anything more than what is standard in all hotels. To sum it up, expect Hilton rooms, Motel 6 dining.

Decent hotel, moderately clean rooms. Other reviewers are spot on about the wonderful staff. Problem is that I’m laying in the bed here writing this review because I haven’t been able to sleep for the last 3 hours due to the fact that I can hear literally every time someone leaves their room and can FEEL the vibration of what seems like stomping (although I don’t think every single person is so heavy footed) in the hallways and above my room. Have a bet going with my partner about whether the people above us are actively bowling or have somehow snuck a baby elephant into their room. I’m going with elephant, though we may never know. Perhaps a service pony? Room is fine. Hotel needs better soundproofing or insulation or something. Not worth it though, as hotels are for sleeping, and I cannot. Oh good, now there are dogs barking. 🙄

You hosted all of us for the Halloween Bash and I had to get on here to give a rave review. Your hospitality and service was 100% even with soooo much going on. The breakfast was hot and delicious. All the bar staff were fun and engaging and patient. The front desk staff was kind and helpful and extremely patient. Thank you again for an amazing weekend with all my new friends!!! I will definitely be back to your hotel when in Olympia!

We spent one night at the hotel. It was a great stay. Our room was clean, beds and pillows were very comfy. Big TV. We needed help with a couple of things, and, after calling the front desk, someone came into our room within a few minutes! Great service. The pool was, unfortunately, under renovation. The restaurant did not have any vibe… we did not eat there. I hope that changes in the future. I’d definitely stay here again if I’m in the area.

Nice hotel. Had breakfast there and while it took a long time due to kitchen issues it was very convenient. Rooms were big and beds were comfortable. Plenty of parking. Very quiet. Bathrooms nice and big. Good for the price. Easy off and on to Interstate

Was attending a large event and the staff were amazing!! Breakfast was tasty and bacon was nice and thick.. Rooms are roomy, beds are comfy. Some of halls and stairs are worn on the carpet but the rooms were renovated. No pool or hot tub and from sounds those are not coming back. Sure would love at least a hot tub but understand. Parking is great but could use a repainting of the lines... I got a naughty note night 1 😢Will be attending another event in few months and looking forward to it.

I have my wedding ceremony and reception in a ballroom in the hotel. It was so nice to have spacious rooms to get ready and not have to move locations for ceremony and reception. The ballroom was beautiful and they provided setup of tables and a dance floor. All the food was delicious and there was not much work for me to do for decorating. It was worth every penny to have such a wonderful experience and no stress. If I ever have an event again I will use this venue. Thank you to all the staff

I love this hotel. Yes, it's old, but I've never had any cleanliness issues. Has an on-site restaurant. Good food/drinks. Great morningtime views. Can watch the bunnies play in the grass while you eat breakfast... No, there's no in-room coffee maker, but there's coffee in the lobby at 530a. Friendly staff. I try to stay here every time i travel to the area for work.

Convenient location and spacious, but old and in serious need of repair. Would stay here again but know that there is little in the way updating in 40yrs! Rooms are large so that is a plus. One review said it was recently renovated, so we must have stayed in the old section. The stairs were less than 3' wide, and they only allow 2 people in elevator at a time.

I had a very nice stay here! The grounds are well kept and absolutely gorgeous! The restaurant was very nice and the views were amazing! The room was very large, clean and in keeping with the mood of the hotel. Staff was friendly and helpful. There is a small homeless camp nearby but they seemed to keep to themselves. I didn't have any issues. I was only here one day and it felt like a mini vacation. I paid for the $4 dollar breakfast buffet and it was really good! Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting the area!

Came for a business meeting. Very disappointed in the building. Old wall paper has been covered with texture and paint. Cob webs everywhere. Windows are in dire need of cleaning. It is too bad that management has let this happen. There are some signs that say a remodel is occurring but a true improvement remodel is not seen. Windows are single pane and it was hot at night time thus requiring air conditioning (it was loud and did not have temperature controls). The shower valve did not have anti scald capability. We did visit the restaurant and ordered fish and chips. We were offered to split flies and onion rings which We did. Fish was small but tasty and crispy. Onion rings were crispy and tasty. We asked for crispy fries and they arrived limp. Something in the coleslaw was bitter. Our server, Austin, did a good job checking in on us and being very polite. He raised the hotel 1 star to a two. I noted several safety concerns as listed. Beautiful location. Outdated hotel with some bad lipstick.

We have stayed here a few times but just short stays. The location is convenient if you have a car and just passing through the area. The area is quiet. The rooms are in the process of being upgraded and the hardwood was an improvement from earlier stays. The rooms are nothing fancy although for a fee, you can be close to the pool or have a balcony. There is a mail a short drive away with shops and restaurants.

Just checked in and absolutely love this place. The front desk attendant, Alynn, was an absolute pleasure. Very happy and helpful. Wonderful personality! Give that lady a raise! The room is beautiful and spacious. They also accommodate service animals at no extra charge. We'll definitely be back for a short distance getaway!

The location looks to be near the government housing. Lots of homeless and car campers. The photos are very misleading. Very very outdated rooms and hallways when the lobby is modern and updated. AC is lovked so it won't go below 68. Had we not checked in at 1035 after driving almost 4 hours we would've left.

Location , location, location. Having stayed in so many hotels around the world, this lovely hotel, although showing signs of being tired proved to be a lovely stay! My wife and I had 3 nights of excellent quiet uninterrupted sleep. We would certainly consider this hotel for our future stays. Great Value.

The hotel is in a pretty nice location. A pretty quiet area even though the highway is near. Some staff members are really friendly here, but others seem to hate their job. We also didn’t get a room service for some reason. The restaurant in the hotel is very nice and comfortable. Our room was kinda clean, I did find some dirt in the sink but although it was pretty clean. I would visit the hotel again, because I really like Olympia and the location here.

A great experience with our bulldog nationals! A minor issue in restaurant, think some stuff were overwhelmed, but all staff were wonderful! Want to thank Alynn at the front desk for helping us check out with a great attitude!! We appreciate it and will definitely be back again.
