I got an iced “Morticia,” it was delicious! Excited to come back and try other flavors. I really like the vibes and the theme. I wish I like hot drinks because then I could get the skull in the foam :,) the drink was a tea latte with clove. It tasted like smoke but in a really interesting and good way. The prices were good and the staff is nice. They’re only doing door service at the time I went there.

Cool spot to grab a coffee and some goodies! Visited twice now on a trip into town and I keep getting surprised by how great the coffee is. Staff is super friendly and gave great recommendations.

Burial Grounds was one of the first coffee shops I visited in Olympia, and has been one of my favorites in the area for over 4 years. They, being a co-operative coffee shop, symbolize a real heart to olympia that i think is vital in a gentrifying downtown. It has been a hub for community and outreach in the area and honestly, just go here. The baristas are always kind and their drinks are so unique to them that whenever i go (which is about weekly) i’m always excited to receive my drink! If you like lavender in your espresso based drinks, the persephone is a must have! - avery

Burial Grounds is great and I second everything good everyone has to say, but I really want to shout out to Rogue Teas, tucked away inside Burial Grounds. I think a lot of people don’t realize it’s there, but it is fantastic. Even if you’re not a “tea person,” there are great drinks. The brown sugar hojicha is one of the best drinks I’ve ever had - for those who aren't really into traditional tea but like more bubble tea style offerings, it’s got the sweetness and flavor of a sweet milk tea but with more of a focus on the actual flavors of the tea for the “tea people.” I also buy loose leaf there, and it’s MUCH cheaper than some of the “fancy” tea shops and just as good, if not better. The owner will also give you tips on how to brew any tea perfectly and is very friendly and helpful. Give it a shot sometime!!

Oh man this was absolutely wonderful I can’t wait to come in here on a cold day to try the hot drinks. I had the Persephone and it was absolutely divine. 100% would recommend to a friend! My friend had a Morticia and her drink was really good too, I’ll have to get one next time I come in

I loved this little cafe, it reminded me of the places I miss from the 1990s in Austin, in a good way. A good selection of random books, and LGBT+ positive vibes.

So many coffee and tea beverage available. If you have a hard time making decisions, just ask the cashier or barista for recommendation. I got a floral coffee drink with rose and orange, and liked it a lot. It was subtly floral, not too sweet, and I can still taste the coffee. They have some interesting tea and milk tea too!

Delicious coffee and a very inclusive giving place where everyone is welcome. They have teas as well with many cool flavors like lavender and such. I love that they have a program, where people who cannot afford a drink or food can come and have something of their choice for free. It’s funds put forward by other patrons.

wide variety of coffee and treats to choose from. I love that they have books to choose from while you're relaxing indoors. They're always so friendly and helpful to EVERYONE that comes through the door. And they're strict about the mask policy which is refreshing, I really appreciate that about them.

I used to go here every artswalk with my friend who has since passed and we would always get a grave robber. Today I went in and asked if they still had it and the person working said they had taken it off the menu but they made an acception and made me a grave robber. I know it seemed like a small gesture but it meant the absolute world to me I sat by the lake and it felt like my friend was there with me. This has always been my favorite coffee shop but this experience has been the best coffee shop experience I ever had. Thank you so much

We had REALLY good coffee! I got the black morpheus and my sister got the persephone and they both were really well done - perfect shots and milk and the combination of flavors were subtle yet worked great together. I loved the community aspect of the space and that Burial Grounds displays what they stand for - inclusion and connection. Would love to come back and try all the different specialty drinks.

If you can get passed the homeless they appear to encourage / and can get passed the smell of body odor and a sour urine like smell the coffee is pretty good. They say everyone is welcome and will be treated the same. Well then don’t make a person feel guilty because they don’t believe the mask magic which they push on u! Didn’t feel welcome or safe.

This is a must visit for anyone who likes things a little spooky. Staff was helpful in picking the perfect specialty drink and the drinks tasted wonderful. The interior is interesting with a bunch of art and a lot of books to look at. There's a wall of local events/resources in the front which can be useful for locals.

The barista working there on June 03 2022 around 1pm was totally inhumane. I had just walked into the cafe from a very heavy torrential storm with my bike and was immediately yelled at. Put on a mask! No other customers had a mask on. But I put on my n95 mask and gloves politely but that was not enough. After seeing my flag on my bike, the Barista said she would need to see proof of vax or I would have to take my drink outside. There were only two people in the huge place and a very heavy torrential downpour outside. I just rode my bike there for coffee in a t shirt and thin sweater and did not have my phone or "papers." But stood outside in the downpour, with my drink, cold, soaking wet, showing their insane hipocrisy and discrimination. I am original american, black, middle aged, queer and female, with a painful, neurological disability that affects my mobility and sight. Normally the staff is nice but this barista was so disrespectful and arogant. I WAS IN A PUNK BAND IN THE 80's before this barista was even born. I have gone there for coffee since 2017 and have worked in advocacy and civil rights for over 30 years. But there I was discriminated against by hipocrites because I had an American flag on my bike. Two of my cousins and my dad died serving this country. They died for freedom these fake anarchist take for granted. Those hipocrites that pretend to support human rights while they judge and discriminate against a black woman for having a flag on her bike. The passive aggressive, "you can take your drink outside" during a very heavy torrential downpour was similar to treatment by RACIST cira 1950's. The blatant hatred and duping delight was psychopathic and cruel. BUT THIS IS AMERICAN YOUTH, NO COMMON SENSE OR COMPASSION. Very sad that she thought that was acceptable treatment of a human being.

Was looking for some coffee, and Google had glowing reviews for this place but, I had some thoughts of my own. Here's what I found. The good: The place is very chill. People are comfortable there, and it really shows in a nice way. The coffee is as good as I would expect, and not many places hit that mark for me. Staff was kind, but nothing amazing. The IDEA for the aesthetic is really good. I love the darker tones the place has. The art in the coffee is a nice touch that ties the look of the place together. There are plenty of tables and chairs, if your looking to get some work done. The bad (mostly minor): The place wasn't decorated as well as the images made it appear. Half of it looked like I could have done better, and most of it looks low quality. The look, and vibe are great, but the execution fell flat to me. Coffee, and staff were nothing amazing, if you're looking to be knocked off your feet, but they're fine, if you're not that picky. Concensus: Would recommend! Although, not my favorite place in Washington.

The iced latte I had here was very good. Nice place to check out if you are in downtown Olympia.

As a visitor, I was drawn to the many positive reviews and the cute & clever pun of the name. And from just the outside posters, I immediately felt exquisite autistic joy being in their space - as a neuroqueer slash autistic parent, as an ex goth, and anarchist slash activist the space was tremendously appealing. It also felt like a safe inviting space for the unhoused. Sprinkled with humor (that I understood and appreciated), a snicker at the stickers, awe at the zines and books to alternatives to the mainstream. The barista was both patient and kind with my nervous eye-contact avoidance - I asked them for a suggestion, and the coffee they handcrafted tasted AMAZING. I am unable to remember what the drink was but their suggestion was absolutely perfect and on point. Thank you ao much for the amazing drink and this space!

Yhis used to be my favorite coffee place in Oly. Still require masks and vaccination proof. And not thrilled with the menu change. The wait for a muffin was long and not very good. Too bad.

I keep going back because it's fantastic. Their fizzy drinks are as good as their coffee. It's clear they take pride in the community and what they do. 3 star Mayan mocha is my thing.

Bunch of custom drinks. Expect some real good spicy brews or yummy mixes with names like cuppacabra or rigor mortise. Cool vibe with lots of resources to help the community. Expect them to enforce health standards for the benefit of all customers. Check it out. It is worth a peek and a relax in their nice space.

The staff were very kind and our drinks tasted as good as they looked! The interior is funky and cute and we felt very safe and comfortable spending time there with our daughter. A lot of crunchy queer goth vibes. Unlike other places that have stated COVID protection policies, they seemed to actually care about it, and checked our cards which most places don't bother doing.

Absolutely loved this place. Ambiance was unique, macabre, and welcoming. Lots of well distanced space for working, games, or relaxing. The coffee/tea list is extensive with a ton of original drinks to match any mood or personality. We left our drinks up to our coffee guide and with a few words of guidance we got two amazing drinks that weren't even on the menu but were delicious, multi layered, refreshing, and hit the spot. Highly recommend stopping in to experience.
