This is a great community waterfront park. It is clean, fun with great amenities for such a small space. The only drawback is the paid parking and for what is the parking fee for. I pay a HUGE amount of property and sales taxes and live in this area but still need to pay, pay, pay, pay. What do we really get for our local tax dollars? I park about 2 blocks away from this park for free on the public street (until that changes someday) and walk to the park grounds. It helps burn the calories I consume from the BBQ's I attend. Salt water park offers views of the Puget Sound, the islands, Key Peninsula, Gig Harbor, Chambers Creek golf course, and a peek at the Narrows bridge. Great beach combing opportunities and sometimes you can catch a glimpse of whales and seals. Open from dawn to dusk. It's a wonderful place to watch the sun set.

This small picturesque park is a nice little area where you can go and take children to have some fun! This park includes a volleyball court, sand you can play in, two play areas, and swing set. They also have nice clean bathroom facilities and the park is clean and very well-maintained. The only thing is, it’s not a very good place to take your dog for a walk because it’s so small and your walk will literally end in five minutes. If you wanna have a picnic or sit down and watch the water, there are plenty of seats. People also use this area to scuba dive and swim in the water. The beach was blocked off at the moment, so the only place to go was the short paved pathway.

What a lovely park! The panoramic view is breathtaking of the sound. Great place to have a picnic. Has a sand volleyball court which is quite something to see for a public park. Has beach access with a good amount of sand on the beach. Parking can be a bit tricky in the small parking lot, so be mindful. Highly recommend visiting this park as it is quite a treat.

Sunnyside is a great place to spend the day, and one of the few sandy beaches around. Parking is $5 (cash only). There is a playground, a volleyball net, some picnic tables and a picnic structure, beach showers, restrooms, and kayak rentals.

Great beach! Very clean, sandy and peaceful. You can rent kayaks if you want. There's volleyball and bathrooms. Highly recommended. The parking lot gets full, and I suggest back in parking.

Nice little pit stop on the scenic route between Whole Foods and home. We didn't venture far or stay long, but there were several families with kids enjoying the playground, as well as a few folks enjoying the view of the sound and distant mountains.

The beach is pretty clean and has great views. There's definitely a good vibe there's a lot of people playing volleyball and everyone there was very welcoming.

Nice little area. Walked along the rocky beach and played at the park. The park was well maintained and kept my 3 year old happy. There was actually 2 play structures. My 3 year old did fine on both. Also swings and a giant frog. Both of my littles also liked seeing the trains past right by. View was of course, awesome. Parking was a bit pricey ($5) since it was per day and we were only there for 1 1/2 hours.

Great walk along the water. Well maintained municipal park. Playground equipment and beach volleyball available as well as a kayak share location. Pay online to get a code for locks. Adult and children's sizes. Not much beach area during high tide but beautiful view of ferry dock and mountains on Anderson and McNeil Islands.

Came back for another visit to bring my parents to see and smell the water. Got to see 3 trains roll by also. More busy than the spring. Limited parking. Kids had a good time in the water and on the beach. Bring a set chairs to find some shaded spots .

Beautiful, clean park with volleyball ball courts, playground, and lovely rocky beach to explore. Railroad Tracks: Be aware that there is no fence/barrier between the beach and the tracks. It looks like you can rent kayaks and life vests in the warmer season. I've docked two stars because of the $5 pay to park fee. Placing financial barriers between local parks and people limits accessibility and I disagree with this.

Me and my daughter had a blast walking on the beach and hanging out at the big toy area. Plus she loved seeing the train fly by and the ferry cross the water in front of us. Beautiful place.

Beautiful view of the bay! You can see the ferry docked just down the way from the single picnic table on the closest end from the entrance. They have an outside volleyball court, beautiful grass and scenery to lay out and get some sun. Plenty public parking and public restrooms and water fountains as well. A definite must go during the hot summer days, its beautiful! Even if there is train tracks running right behind it, I didn't see or hear any trains during the late afternoon hours I was there. Nice people, plenty of dog walkers that's for sure.

This park is quite lovely with waterfront views and a small beach if the tide is not high. It has bathrooms and picnic tables. It’s quite popular. The erosion of a small sea wall has caused a small collapse so it could use a bit of TLC. Parking is limited and costs $5 - done old fashioned style where you push the money into a numbered slot that corresponds to your parking space. We used the park to put in our canoe and it was AMAZING. We could see porpoises from the shore so we paddled out just a bit and they were surfacing all around us. Highly recommend this lovely little park.

This is a beautiful park in Steilacoom. There is ample parking and the beach is beautiful. Perfect for a summer day or a picnic. There is a covered picnic area that my cousin got married under on a rainy fall day. This park is large and is a great location for families.

I was surprised to see fences between the road, the parking lot, and the railroad tracks. It's a little bit of a hail to walk down there, it looks nothing like I remembered, the views are spectacular, though.

This park was great! The rentable kayaks were great and the overall feel of the park was relaxing. It was well maintained and clean. Parking could be an issue during the busy months of the year but I visited at a slow time so I had no issues. If definitely come back to enjoy the park again. Also, I saw jellyfish!

This beach was recommended to us and I'm so happy we gave it a chance! The beach area is great, the kids adventure and haunted for little crabs and fun looking rocks. There's a sand pit with two volleyball nets set up and a kids playground. There are also a couple covered areas to enjoy, the only downfall is that there are only two barbecues and they're right next to each other so when we got there they were taken up by the same party. Another cool plus is that you have to walk over the train tracks that travel alongside the outside of the park to get to the park, and it's a VERY active set of tracks! The kiddos loved it!

Nice park, sandy beach access, volleyball nets available(2), there is a couple play area for the kids along with several picnic benches available. A little bit concerning is the fact of having to cross active train tracks to get from parking to park area.

My sister took me here while visiting her in WA. I was mind blown because of the berry bushes you can pick off of! It was a beautiful day to sit by the water and enjoy some relaxation time. Found a few rocks as well to add to my son's collection. Beautiful, quiet place to stop by.

👍👍 Awesome little local beach with grit and history! Parking is limited and in a residential neighborhood, you walk across a caged bride over the train tracks and walk down a flight of stairs to access the beach. There's a covered picnic area and cool old rusty stuff, rocky beach, view of the Narrows...

👍👍 What a wonderful little trail! With loops under 1 mile total, and right here in Steilacoom, this is the perfect spot for an outing with the kids out just getting outside. The majority of the trail is dry, with only a few soggy spots. We especially liked the water viewpoints, great for a snack break.
