We went on Prince's birthday (6/7) to see Sign 'O the Times. The theater is really cute! We had a really good time. It appears that the video equipment is all updated now. The picture and sound quality were fantastic! Mask and proof of vaccine required as of this date. Highly recommended!

An iconic Olympia landmark, the Capitol Theater is like a portal to another world, transporting you to people, places and experiences that are as unique as the people who created them. Community supported & volunteer run. Bonus: you can bring in outside food! But be respectful & clean up after yourself.

A classic old movie theater with excellent programming and a diverse range of flavors for your popcorn. Who could ask for anything more?

I am so delighted to have such a beautiful and historic venue to see live music and independent films without ever leaving Olympia! I’ve lived all over this country and this is hands down my favorite place I’ve ever called home. If you haven’t been to a concert here you are seriously missing out on one of the best things to do for fun. They have dang good headliners, even the ones I’ve. It heard of previously send me right to Apple Music so I can add them to my library rotation 🙌🏼🤘🏼

Quaint theater~ We went to see the Comedian Josh Blue in June 2023. Nice theater. Seats are a little hard, but it's an old building, and we loved it anyway.

Spectacular performance. Everything from the sets, lighting, score, costumes, and of course the amazing casting, was outstanding. I couldn't have been more pleased with my very first exposure to the Rocky Horror Show just as well The Capitol Theater. Just to emphasize my point on how impressed I was: at times I had to remind myself that I was watching a live performance, because of the ambiance created by all of the people working (so hard)behind the scenes. All of your hard work paid off immensely. Great show and I can't wait to return.

Staff there has incredible customer service and many are volunteers! This place provides some of the most fun and unique entertainment options in Olympia and I am grateful for all their efforts! I definitely recommend them so check out their upcoming schedule for anything that catches your interest. We saw the comedian Tim Meadows (“The Ladies Man” from SNL) do stand up and it was hilarious.

If you like an old-fashioned theater - this is THE place to go. Real sound of projector, turn of the century style curtains and carpet. Hushing of volunteers. Great experience. Probably not best for like a star wars or avengers experience, but an old musical or film noir or low-budget documentary?? Perfect.

The charm is real. It feels of small town Olympia and the crowd size is just big enough to be cozy at the movies there.

A tremendous community resource for a small but artsy city. Having the lead actor post film, for a Q&A was very enlighening. Volunteers do it better than commercial offerings. Thank you!

A landmark building in downtown Olympia Washington. My personal experiences include hanging out in the theater after hours back in the late 1980s, attending and presenting shows back in the 1990s, hanging upstairs backstage with grunge bands and various performers around the same time. A cool venue with a lot of history.

We have been to Capitol Theater twice as a venue. Although the Theater itself is older they keep it well maintained and clean. The staff are kind and helpful. We enjoy this venue and look forward to our next experience.

This 1924 theater has never stopped being a theater thanks to the dedication and support of the Olympia Film Society and its members, volunteers and staff. Live music shows as well as screenings of new shows (4k projector) and classics (only theater between Portland and Seattle allowed to screen 35 mm film. Open Thursdays through Sundays and others days depending on the show.

Had a great time at this theater the place has the old school vibe to it a awesome balcony section and great acoustics. The staff was super friendly and they also have a small bar upstairs with wine and beer. I saw Hillstomp perform there and they sounded great. Would definitely not hesitate to go to otherer shows there.
