Went in for a birthday dinner, group of 6. Reservations made for 8pm. They had a birthday card and rose petals on the table. The place is very dim and they have little flashlights on the table to see the menus. The servers were very attentive, professional and friendly. Our guy was awesome but I forgot his name. Started with drinks, a friend had a fancy Gaucho French 75. They had a smoke bubble gun done at the table for the drink. We had appetizers, salads, bread, main course, palate cleanser plate of grapes, goat cheese, fig, and jam, and dessert. I chose the rib eye with truffle butter. It was delicious and cooked perfect. Also chose the lobster mashed potatoes. The server laid our napkins on our lap and was always polite. If you park valet, you get a little bag that has chocolate chip cookies and those were yummy. Fantastic dinner from beginning to end!

Fine dining restaurant. Live piano music. We attended a business dinner and were seated in a reserved room. The food was delicious and quite expensive. The service was outstanding. Complimentary valet parking.

Phenomenal service, great ambiance, mediocre food. I've been to El Gaucho twice now, and it's just too expensive for the quality of food. It's not awful, but I should be blown away by a meal that costs as much as my car payment after appetizers, entrees, desserts, and drinks. The food really is just eh. The drinks were good, some of the appetizers were decent. My steak was cooked well but seasoned badly. Fish was overcooked. Sides were just okay. The service is always amazing. Servers are attentive, timely, friendly, helpful and kind. A 20% charge is already added to the check for gratuity, but the waitstaff are worth an additional tip. The restaurant is romantic. I love the dimmed lighting and piano. The booth we were in was comfortable and not in the middle of the floor. Overall, I won't go back a third time. There are better restaurants in Tacoma that cost less (like WildFin!). El Gaucho could be amazing, but I just can't spend that kind of money for an "okay" meal.

Easily one of the very best dining experiences we’ve ever had. The service was absolutely top tier from start to end. Beginning with the valet service (which is complimentary with your meal), including the lounge area to wait for your table, continuing with your wait staff who know you by name and frequently check in on your satisfaction, it was beyond what we expected. Amazing. The food was also delicious at every step. Table side cocktails, starters, an amazing array of steaks and seafood, and all rounded out with hearty side dishes and capped with stunning desserts… just wow. We didn’t have a single dish that wasn’t just perfect. Our favorites included: - Pork belly starter - Diver sea scallops - Oscar style filet - Lobster mashed potatoes - Cosmo (cocktail) We’d order it all again. We also really appreciated the extra steps to celebrate a special occasion- they went so far as to customize the menus to celebrate my husbands birthday. Stunning service all around. The automated 20% gratuity on your check is probably an understated value of the experience. 10/10 recommend.

Came here to celebrate my daughters graduation, and it was the best decision. Dinning here is more than just having a meal. It was an experience and an experience that no doubt that we would have again. We liked the personal touches like the “congratulations Tori” on the menu, the congratulations notes on the table. Our waiter Justin is very knowledgeable and entertaining. The food was delicious.

Let me start off by saying that I've been to a lot of restaurants. The food, and the treatment by the staff that I received, was far above and beyond my expectations. I've never been treated so special and felt so comfortable at any other restaurant I've ever been to. The food was amazing, and my steak was cooked perfectly to my liking. I was beyond impressed by the whole experience and I'll definitely be going back again once my wallet recovers from this visit.

Picture this: you walk into this absolutely fabulous steak house, and right off the bat, you know you're in for something spectacular. The service? Talk about next level! It was like they had a sixth sense for what we needed. I mean, exceptional doesn't even begin to cover it! Now, let's get down to the main event—the food! Hold on to your taste buds, because this place knows how to cook up a storm. We all had our eyes on the signature El Gaucho steak, and let me tell you, it was a masterpiece. Cooked to perfection, with a flavor that'll have you weak at the knees—now, that's what we call noteworthy! But wait, there's more! One brave soul in our group went all out and ordered the Tomahawk steak. It was so good that he couldn't finish it all and ended up taking some home. Talk about a steak fit for a warrior! All in all, our night was an absolute blast. But, here's the thing, my friend—it's a tad pricey. Yes, we're talking special-occasion territory. So, keep it in mind for those extra fancy times when you want to treat yourself. Trust me, though, it's worth every penny! You won't be disappointed, I promise you that!

My second time eating here and it did not disappoint. Everything about the experience is amazing from being warmly welcomed, the physical ambiance, the talented piano player and vocalist, and of course the amazing food. The table side preparation of several dishes is amazing. The employees are the most professional, friendliest people.

Zed and Ryan made my wife’s birthday experience top notch. Between the levity and witty banter between the two made the experience even more enjoyable. Can’t forget the pianist Kacey Evans for his auditory ambiance he provided while we were there. He’s a keeper. Keep up the good work team!!!!

Very impressed! The staff was prompt, highly knowledgeable, and their attention to detail was to the likes of which I’ve never seen before. The food, drinks and dessert alike were exquisite. I will certainly return for many future occasions.

Went for our anniversary and it was such a lovely night. We were near the piano player and he appeared shortly after our arrival. His first song was Unforgettable. I had salmon, he had the peppercorn New York steak, and we shared crab cakes and table side Caesar salad. It was all great. I'm glad I had only one drink as they were stronger than expected and I was driver. I had the Dragon Heart and he had the Smoked Old Fashion and the XXX Martini (the blue cheese stuffed olives are the best touch). I can't wait to go back for more people watching.

We were celebrating my daughter’s 25th birthday-day!! Incredible service and meal was outstanding. We had the rib-eye, filet, baseball cut too sirloin, and the surprisingly, for a steak place, amazing Alaska halibut. We also enjoyed the table side preparation of the smoked Manhattan and the Gaucho French 75!! Expect to pay for the fantastic service and meal.

This is the best restaurant in Tacoma! The staff is knowledgeable and professional, and at the same time warm and friendly. Their attention to every detail makes you feel instantly at home. A destination restaurant, you can feel confident taking any guest, or becoming fully engaged with the exquisite flavors just by yourself. The escargot, the Cesar salad prepared table-side, the rack of lamb were heavenly. Bananas Foster topped the meal after a complimentary fruit and cheese plate to cleanse the pallet. A most entertaining and memorable evening!

We love El Guacho. The staff puts great care into the customer experience. Great complimentary options like free valet, a fruit and cheese plate after dinner and warm cookies from the valet to enjoy on your way home. Steaks and seafood are always perfectly done and the table side options (caesar salads, banana foster, etc.) are fun!

Great food! Amazing service by the whole staff but we enjoyed our waitress, Noon. They are so friendly! Great cocktail menu and loved the sides along with mains! The presentation alone was worth it!

Outr server, Elizabeth, was amazing! Very polite and kind. She explained all the dishes very well. The food was out of this world. A perfect steak, potato, lobster and oh the bread was so good! Dessert was the perfect ending! A fabulous choice for a special dinner!

The best steakhouse around. Classy atmosphere and staff, stellar service and incredible food. We come here regularly to celebrate special occasions or sometimes just for Happy Hour. Our go-to is the Steak El Gaucho and table-side Caesar, but you never want to miss the key lime pie. It's absolutely out of this world. The topping is light, fluffy and airy, and the pie itself is the perfect balance of sweet and tart and not too overpowering or heavy. We recently came here for Valentine's Day and tried the Chateaubriand (a table side service for two). Absolutely delicious, cooked perfectly. The baked potatoes were an unexpected surprise. Fluffed table side to the point they're almost whipped, with all the fixings and it just melts in your mouth. There were some off the menu dessert specials from a local bakery, and we had to try the pink champagne cake. Everything was top notch as always.

A lovely place to treat yourself to delicious steak and seafood. So many fantastic entrees available with shareable sides - their delicious, crunchy, flavorful Brussels sprout is always a must (although I forgot to snap a picture of them!). Good wine selection and great cocktails, the tiramisu dessert cocktail being my favorite. Bananas foster is a also must for dessert! Cozy and elegant with dim lighting, El Gaucho is great for romantic nights out as well as a relaxing and/ or celebratory evening with close friends.

Great Restaurant overall. If your coming from I5 (southbound), take exit 133 like your heading towards the LeMay car Museum. That will put you on E26th Ave which intersects with Pacific Ave. There is a train that runs between both lanes of pacific Ave, and the restaurant is located just south of the 509 intersection with Pacific Ave. There is free valet parking on street. Vegan/Vegetarian options are limited, but available. The prices are similar to the space needle (aka: expensive), but overall this is a great place for a date night or special event. I took my parents here for their 50th Anniversary.

Wonderful private luncheon at El Gaucho today- their regular coffee is always amazing and the food is delicious. When you go in the evening, wear your best full length dress if that’s your style, because the entrance is like no other local restaurants. Very “see and be seen” yet cozy and intimate surroundings. Always a birthday and celebration favorite destination.

Took my wife here for our anniversary. Nothing but good things to say about the entire El Gaucho experience. The only thing I didn't like was the lobster was a bit overcooked and chewy. Everything else was perfect. The drinks were great and service is top notch.

What a fantastic experience! We just celebrated our 10 year wedding anniversary tonight at El Gaucho Tacoma and had such a great time! The steaks we ordered were amazing and the service was world class. Gregory, our server, and the rest of the staff were pleasant and made our anniversary dinner feel so special. Thank you El Gaucho!

Tonight we celebrated our 6 year anniversary. From the moment we walked in, the service was kind and professional. This is an amazing top tier dining experience and I would highly recommend reserving your experience rather than just walking in. The food was phenomenal and the dessert was equally amazing. The petals on the table were so sweet, but nothing compared to the handwritten “Happy Anniversary” note, on a large corner table.

The food was excellent with sweet and savory seabass and perfectly cooked steak. But the overall experience was spectacular. Greg was an incredible server with perfect recommendations and made us feel special. The presentation of the smokey old fashion was definitely a show worth seeing, and the hickory flavor was incredible. And Greg made an amazing cherries jubilee.

I tell you what...when you really want to go out and nosh, and do that up right, it's El Gaucho. From complimentary valet, to the wow of walking through the front door, to the class and shine that ooze from every detail, this is the place to celebrate your day. Fresh chocolate chip cookies awaiting you as the car is brought forward. Just perfect. My filet was so fantastic I won't try to describe, only to say the price of everything seems justified by the pure pamper these folks place on every detail. Enjoy.

The entire experience was amazing and more than expected. I honestly can’t wait to go back. The ambiance/lighting/music was beyond words. The nice touch of having the custom Happy Anniversary card and menu was special. Nhung our server and her performance and attentiveness all throughout the night was impeccable! The food was made to perfection and with great care. I truly have ZERO complaints.THANK YOU for such an amazing experience!
