First time into this Nice neighborhood pub. Cobb salad was nice, small portion for price $15.99. The fish n chips unfortunately were lacking both size and fish. I had to send back because on piece didnt habe fish in it, just breading and i just munched on French fries instead. I will go back again to try something else but not the fish.

Being vegan and a lover of breakfast food means I am very used to being disappointed when having breakfast out, but this was another level of disappointed. We were seated quickly, Caesar took our order and was very nice but the food did not come close to what was expected after readung other vegan reviews. We ordered a vegan omlette and a vegan scramble, both with added "vegan chorizo" ($3 upcharge each). Both orders came with the same fake meat which did not taste anything like "chorizo" but instead like their Applewood sausage which when we said something, we were told that the manager confirmed from the back of the restaurant that they bought some chorizo so it must be the right thing. We were offered an extra side of "chorizo" but told it was the same as the sage flavored Chunks we had already received but no offer to waive the $3 charge for the incorrect and not delicious whatsoever meat substitute. The "chorizo" discrepancy was not the only issue as one plate was warm and mine felt like it had been sitting on the counter for quite some time... the crazy thing is that they weren't even busy when we ordered so we expected everything would be on point as other reviewers have claimed. Lastly, both orders had a base price of $16.99, we asked for "chorizo" @$2.99 and my wife asked for a side of "Pico" which was not shown as an additional price... My total was $19.98 Wife's total $24.15 Where did the additional $4.17 charge come from on my wifes order? This is the first time I have refrained from tipping in a decade but I couldn't allow myself to be taken advantage of for even $1 more after this.

Just stumbled upon this fine gem. The huckleberry mimosa’s are amazing! The food was so good! They were really busy but the food came out quick and on point! Everyone was really friendly. If I have to rate it I give it 6 out of 5 stars!

A Downtown Gem. Hidden on the backside of wright park on one of the towns main streets, 6th avenue. The restaurant that opened in 1940 is located in a building that is listed on the national registry of historical buildings. The Hob Nob restaurant is truly a family place and can accommodate a person that uses a mobility aid. I usually only go there for breakfast because it's the best in town. The food is served fast enough after being prepared thanks to the awesome staff that it arrives at you table still warm. (Nothing worse then cold link sausages) in the summer months I take my Mother there. The Hob Nob can make a milk shake just right, the old fashion way. After picking up our shakes we take a stroll around the park. If your reading this because your looking for a place thats not to fancy to were your jeans, not so far away you have to stop and get gas and food as good if not better then your favorite restaurant put the address in your GPS and head to this Downtown Gem.

Cool place right next to the park. It's awesome to out your name on the list and then be able to go explore the park while you're waiting. Food is expensive, but they have a handful of good vegan options. I got the Vegan Skillet and it was solid.

Went on a busy Sunday and there was a 20+ minute wait for everybody. There were lots of options to choose from, which was a bit overwhelming and left me with a bit of FOMO after ordering. My omelet was severely lacking seasoning and a bit boring on the pallet and the potatoes were cold. My partner enjoyed his biscuits and we both smashed the bacon, but bacon is hard to mess up. The location, across the street from Wright park, was perfect for a stroll after eating.

First time visit for my husband and myself. My husband had the country breakfast but didn't care for the biscuits and gravy. It is rare for him to not like biscuits and gravy. I had the buttermilk pancakes. They were good and huge. The atmosphere here is very loud. Service was friendly but it took a long time to get our food. Has a good selection for those who are vegan.

Charming atmosphere with friendly service and tasty food! Service was a little slow on the day we visited, but food was delicious. One complaint- frozen strawberries served in place of fresh although fresh was specified on the menu and required an extra charge.

2nd time here, service is great and food is fantastic. To close the weekend, we had Mimosa’s of course 😂, for food we had Crab Benedict and the Meat Lovers skillet. Both were good, lacked some seasoning but nothing salt/pepper & Tabasco couldn’t fix. If you’re in the neighborhood check this place out. We sat both times in the bar, in back.

I’m surprised all these years in Tacoma I haven’t been here sooner! We came in within 30 minutes of closing on mistake but staff were so helpful and understanding. First, our service was excellent. Second, this was very cozy and has a nice diner feel. Third, our food was delicious! The eggs Benedict I got on a croissant had eggs that weren’t runny but still good, the ham on it was a bit tough but I’ll chalk these up to coming in at the end of their day. We’ll be back!

Definitely expect a wait for a table during peak hours. They get busy. Hob Nob is a Tacoma classic with delicious breakfast plates and bloody Mary's. I love the Crabby skillet swimming in their house made hollandaise.

Nothing much good to say here, just that the decaf coffee was good and hot. Pancakes were huge but if they can’t be cooked evenly and properly then they shouldn’t be so big. One was burnt on one half and close to correct on the other half and the other pancake was ok on one half and under cooked on the other half. And, by the way, $11 for two pancakes? Not even if they were good would I ever pay that much again. Eggs Benedict were greasy and practically inedible. Finally, we were sat in a back room where the next table was holding a very loud zoom meeting?!? Oh, and everything felt grimy and slightly gross. Don’t get me wrong, I love a good greasy spoon, but the food needs to be good and it just wasn’t here.

Great brunch place! The wait was a bit long at an hour but a walk around the park across the street quickly passed it by. The pancakes are HUGE and so good. The Hob Nob Homies are like potato bits, and are seasoned great. Definitely coming back!

I work nights so this is the perfect place to get breakfast early in the AM. Was so good I visited this place twice in one week. Had the crab cake Benedict with hash on the first day and potatoes the second time. Hash was slightly better. Hollandaise sauce is perfect. Add a dash of Tabasco to give the eggs a little kick. Service is a bit slow in the mornings but I’m in no rush. Gives me time to savor every bite. They even serve decaf for those ready for bed afterwards.

Found this place by chance. We were at the park across the street and seen the signs outside and gave it a try. It was well worth it. Service was beyond great. The bloody Mary and in house made cinnamon rolls were outstanding. Forgot to take a pic of the cinnamon rolls they were eating immediately. Next time we are in Tacoma it's going to be on my restaurant list at the top.

Great option if you're looking for vegan brunch but also non-vegan brunch. Great portion sizes and very comfy/cool/low-key vibe to the place. Diablo Skillet was crazy tasty.

Breakfast was absolutely great! Our service was excellent. The food was amazing. Did not getting any bloody Mary’s so will have to up date later. The chicken and waffles, were like perfect. Hand breaded chicken. The coffee was exceptional. May 12/2023 This morning we went for brunch had 4 bloodys a chicken salad and a omelet. Bloodys we got them with grey goose. The first two were very tart and just not very good. The second two were good. The food was great. All in all with a coffee and shot of pb whiskey it came to $130. With tip $162. Just fyi

Couldn't resist trying the Prime Benedict, and it totally blew me away with its rich flavors and perfectly poached eggs. The service was not just good, but genuinely warm and friendly, making the whole experience even more enjoyable. The cozy nook of this local spot adds a comforting touch, creating a perfect setting for a delicious breakfast. Definitely coming back for more!

It could've been better tasting! I didn't have to pay for my meal, a nice gentleman did!

Service was incredible, food was mediocre at best. Plate presentation was nice enough but I was expecting more for how the locals RAVE about this restaurant. I'll likely not come back as it's extremely noisy (which is not a deal breaker) but the food honestly was just meh.

Hob nob is a good breakfast place! My favorite is the hob nob chicken biscuits. Tried it for the first time and ordered the same thing on my second visit. My best friend loved the egg Benedict breakfast meal. They also have mimosas with fresh squeeze orange juice. It was delicious!! After our meal my friend and I shared a waffle with strawberries and whip cream. It was perfect.

I haven’t been here in a few years, and it’ll prob be a few more years before I give it a try again. The server was friendly. The food was ok. Overcooked potatoes in the skillets and eggs were medium hard when ordered over easy, and I ended up just picking at it. Overall taste was ehhh. I ordered a Diablo skillet (covered in gravy), and GF ordered a fiesta scramble. Weird to put cucumber in pico de gallo.

Super legit breakfast and brunch spot. Service was excellent. I would have taken a picture on my chicken fried steak and eggs but it disappeared down my gullet too quick. I am super picky with two things...chicken fried steak and eggs benedict...I can say without a doubt the chicken fried steak and country gravy was outstanding. A different take on country gravy with a touch of spice was so good. It should not scare anyone who loves traditional country gravy, it is how grandma would add some other stuff just to add some zing...excellent and well done hob nob. The eggs were a perfect over medium ans the mimosas were a great mix (not overly OJ heavy). Thanks for the great meal, ill be back to try your eggs benedict, after the chicken fried steak I know they will not disappoint.

Hands down 🙌🏼🙌🏼 the eggs benedict were amazing. I always judge it by its hollandaise sauce and it didn’t disappoint at all. Beautifully poached eggs with crispy potatoes. Waffle and French toast were pretty good.Service was really nice 😊

Caesar was my server this morning and he did great! I got the Diablo Skillet! It was so good! Not too spicy but just the right amount. Chorizo was really great and eggs were perfect. The biscuit was soft and buttery! Will definitely come back! I came around 8:30, perfect timing because I got my order in and it started to fill up. Excellent service.

If your wondering about the chicken and waffles, just do it! Went as a small group, had to wait 20 mins to be seated, but once we were, everything was perfect. This was my 3rd visit before writing this review. The service was attentive and the Bloody Mary was good too!

I had the pleasure of dining at Hob Nob during my recent visit to Tacoma, and I must say it was an outstanding breakfast experience! From the moment I walked in, the staff's warm welcome made me feel right at home. Their friendliness and efficiency truly stood out. Now, let's talk about the breakfast. It was nothing short of amazing. The menu offered a delightful variety of options to satisfy any craving. I decided to try their signature pancakes, and they were fluffy, golden perfection. The taste was heavenly, and I couldn't resist adding a side of crispy bacon, which was cooked to perfection. What impressed me most was the speed at which my order was prepared and served. Despite the restaurant being busy, the staff worked seamlessly to ensure that my food arrived promptly and piping hot. Their attentiveness to customer satisfaction was evident throughout my meal. Nob Hob is undoubtedly a gem in Tacoma's breakfast scene, and I make it a point to visit whenever I'm in town. The amazing breakfast and the fast, friendly staff combine to create an exceptional dining experience that keeps me coming back for more. If you're in Tacoma, don't miss the chance to enjoy breakfast at Hob Nob – it's an absolute must-visit!

I just wanted to say, I recently visited Hob Nob for a a prefunk before my Sunday Seahawks game visit with a young Veteran friend of mine. Clara the bartender was great on the Friday afternoon and evening. Great wings, cranberry mimosa's were flowing and great conversations with a very diverse group of people. I really enjoyed myself. I wanted to bring my friends on Sunday. So Sunday at 1pm rolls around and one of my many friends came with me to the lounge. A different bartender was there and check both of our Vaild ID'S. The bartender and server advised myself and my 23yr and 7month old Veteran that because of his Washington state Vertical ID was not valid in their bar because of a company policy. Not the law but, a unreasonable policy that we couldn't sit in the bar or the restaurant side of the Hob Nob. We are both people of color and in the LGBTQIA community. It was the craziest policy I have ever heard of. We were going to spend over 300.00 in food and drinks and tip well as we had other folks coming to watch NFL games. We ended up going to the Office Bar and Grill on Pacific Ave in Tacoma and had no problems with the vertical valid Washington state ID and we has and amazing time there. We spent over 300.00 and tipped out at 35%. That should have been in the Hob Nob. In other words change your policy as it's just doesn't make sense and you will have more young veterans come in to enjoy Clara at the Hob Nob.

My food was so good and I had the best waiter! Jordan helped me navigate the menu for gluten free options and understood the severity of celiac and cross contamination. He checked in with the kitchen and me a few times to make sure everything was safe for me. Definitely ask for Jordan if you have to eat gluten free and he will be awesome!
