Cool little hidden spot. Theres nowhere to sit and chill, its just a short dock. The Beaver lodge has long been abandoned, but its still there. If you dont look at the bridge and motorway, it feels very remote.

There are two benches here and a dock to sit on (saw other reviews that said there was nowhere to sit?). Have been here a few dozen times and no beavers, but there are otters, lots of birds and once I saw 8 raccoons traveling together (the most I'd ever seen together)

Hidden urban wetlands is a gem of this city. It can be a bit difficult to locate if you have never been before. Walk down the trail to the dock and the Beaver's lodge is directly in front of you about 30ft off the end of the dock. The beavers are most active at dawn and dusk but I have seen and taken video of them at all hours of the day. Currently the family has some curious and playful young ones. Anyone who says things like "nowhere to sit" or "beavers have long since abandoned" or "full of non-native species" as some have in reviewer of this spot are either blind (two benches and a dock to sit on), uneducated (there is a whole family of beavers currently living here. See the many videos for proof) or just plain incorrect (Gene who used to live at the top of the road should get an award for all the hard work he did and work parties organized to clean up non native plants, protect the native trees planted that beavers love to eat, and installed garbage cans). This wetlands is also home to many species of birds including large blue herons, mallards, and of course the majestic bald eagles whose nest is on the golf course of the neighboring Broadmoor community. The nest is best seen from the top of the dirt road where you turn right to drive down to the Santuary parking area. The park is maintained by committed neighborhood benefactors who have completed tons of improvements and removal of non-native plant species, trail improvements and 2 car parking area. ALWAYS PRACTICE LEAVE NO TRACE AND PLACE YOU DOG POOP, TRASH, AND BEER CANS IN THE TRASH AT THE TRAIL HEAD!

2 parking spots, so better to walk or bike over, but it's a relatively hidden place so you might get lucky. Didn't see any beavers tho. Great view of the 520 bridge. Some benches too.

Went here to take pictures of birds. Within 50ft of leaving my car got great pictures of a juvenile eagle. Once on the dock I saw several kinds of duck including male wood ducks. Very colorful duck. Successful day of photography!

Strange little plot of land. Almost feels like you are walking on someone's driveway.

A beautiful little street end in Madison Park. It feels like you're entering a secret garden but if you keep going you will discover paradise. There are two spots down the lane and very close to the park.

A nice little spot with some restoration done. Its currently the only place to access the wetland edge, where wildlife can be seen. Unfortunately the worst of our invasive plants (Ivy, Blackberry, Holly) sprawl along the fortified boundary of Broadmoor Prison, spilling over into the wetland. Until this edge receives some unified stewardship, this corner may never truly shine.

Cute mini park with a deck that reaches out to lake. View of the ever developing 520 bridge! I saw a stork and duck there.

It’s a nice little hidden gem which hosts a variety of birds and animals. My daughter and I saw 15 different species of birds on our outing.
