This is the best gym if you want to build even more strength or if you are brand new at working out. I've been working with Lily for about 6 months and have seen tangible progress. I love that all body shapes are welcome and the groups are small. Our group has 4 and we each get a lot of attention. Fantastic gym!!

I was having a hard time feeling confident getting back into strength training after dealing with some debilitating back pain. So many trainers try to push you to the point where it can be harmful, and I wanted to get back into strength training in a way that supported my recovery and honored my bodies needs yet still be challenged. I am glad I met Lily because this is exactly what she was able to do for me. She helped me gain my confidence back to begin strength training on my own from a trauma-informed approach. I was able to get back to my active lifestyle before the pain, but even better now because she helped me find movements to prevent the pain from coming back. I can't recommend Lily enough!

Amazing gym! Welcoming to everyone with compassionate and knowledgeable trainers. My experience here has had so many benefits beyond my initial goals; my overall health, posture, mobility, and form have improved in addition to endurance and weight. The focus on healthy improvement has changed my relationship with exercise and my own body for the better. Lily is wonderful and incredibly patient, I can not recommend her and this gym enough. Life-changing care is an understatement.

Words cannot express what Pressing On Fitness and specifically Erica have done for my health and fitness - when I think about it I get choked up. Her approach, patience and positivity is incredible. I am growing stronger and more confident every week and with Erica’s guidance doing things I never thought I could do. Erica is so knowledgeable and beyond that she approaches this work with kindness and empathy - which makes all the difference. We are so lucky to have Pressing On Fitness in our community.

In lieu of before and after photos, here's a story of how my body has changed in the last six months of working with Clayne. Before: I was hiring someone to clean my bathroom for me because I was so fatigued and in pain. Bouts of weakness made it difficult to walk a block or even bring a fork to my mouth at times. I was terrified of injuring or re-injuring myself after a lifetime of joint problems. I came to him at the end of my rope. First session, I struggled to do a single proper squat. After: I can hold a job. I can do housework. Those weakness episodes are now extremely rare. I still have occasional joint issues, but they resolve much much quicker--I'm talking 12-24 hours. I feel confident in my body and am not afraid to try new activities, walk farther, or take risks. This has been a completely transforming experience and all areas of my life have improved as a result of working with this guy once a week! Today's session, I was deadlifting 75#. Obviously I've got some medical issues going on and he's not the only person on my care team. But, I would not be where I am today without him. From day one, it has been his goal to help me build strength and stability and increase my body's tolerance for activity at a pace that works for my nervous system and chronic pain issues. He has been so conscious, gentle, focused, validating, encouraging, and supportive. It's easy to trust him because not only is he extremely knowledgeable and observant, he LISTENS to me. If there's something that isn't working, I say so, and he doesn't push it but moves on to something else or tries things until we find an exercise that works for me. There were several exercises that I said a firm NO to in the beginning that now I enjoy with no problems, because instead of arguing with me about the benefits of them, he guided me toward them via several other foundational activities first, and only brought them up again when it really seemed like I was ready. I can't believe the state of my body today--I'm so strong! I moved house recently and carried lots of heavy things! I can hike up big hills! I can carry my body around on my skeleton without feeling like I'm going to fall apart with every step! I plan on continuing to see him until I'm so strong I get bored with the gym and want to take on a more extreme challenge like rock climbing or aerial arts or something. And even then I'll probably still come back. I read somewhere recently that you can't shame someone into changing, you can only love them into evolving. Well, Clayne brings the love, and I for sure have evolved. I can tell he greatly enjoys seeing his clients meet and exceed their goals and blossom forth. A true gem as a trainer and as a person. A million stars.

I love this gym and all of its trainers so much! Pressing On Fitness is a place I feel comfortable as my fat, old, weird self. I began personal training with Lily 10 months ago feeling physically weak and not confident. Now I am so strong! I feel confident, embodied and eager for more. Lily is incredibly skillful and attuned. Her knowledge of the body optimizes my workouts and ensures I do not injure myself. Not only that but some of my chronic pain has disappeared and I no longer need physical therapy. Honestly this gym has been a lifesaver for me. It is a safe, inclusive, fun place to be!

I started working with Lily because I didn't know where to begin to improve my health and slow down aging. Her background, whole body approach, and kind attention have helped me to quickly gain strength, mobility, and confidence. I've also experienced a greater sense of self acceptance, connection, and gratitude for my body, and I'm committed to my health in a way I've always wanted to be. I can't say enough about Lily or the rest of the staff; they are all such skilled and compassionate professionals. POF is welcoming, inclusive, challenging, and fun. Such good people; highly recommend!

I work with Erica at Pressing On Fitness and it’s changed my life! I was in a car accident and was in extreme pain and didn’t know what to do so I reached out for a consult. She recommended an amazing Physical Therapy provider that took my insurance under my car accident claim. After I finished PT, I came to work with her to continue building core strength. Literally changed my life, Erica is extremely encouraging, kind, comfortable to be around, body positive, and meets you where you are at. Bonus she has education background in physical therapy and knowledgeable working with injuries. Feel totally safe with her! She’s amazing.

Clayne is by far one of my most favorite people I’ve ever encountered. I was so nervous about starting this personal training journey but he has been amazing, encouraging, and pushes me in a way that feels motivating but not discouraging. He’s accessible outside of the gym, and even when life gets busy and I can’t make it regularly, he works hard to keep me on track. I’m so grateful for him and the space this gym has offered me to learn and transform. I’m doing things in the gym I never thought were possible! I’ve also encountered the other two trainers who work here during my workouts and they are just as amazing and encouraging. You won’t regret working with any of them and the space they’ve created is really magical ✨

Training with Lily has been incredibly helpful and healing. I struggle with chronic pain issues especially in my back and neck. I've been getting stronger and having less pain since working with Lily. It's been healing my relationship with my body and movement. Lily is very good at adapting exercises so I can adjust an exercise or do something else that's challenging but not painful. Lily's also just very kind and welcoming. The gym is very queer and trans friendly.

Words can barely describe how GOOD it is to train with Erica. She is like a human version of a strawberry! She is compassionate while being steadfast. She is playful while always holding onto the structure and our needs. She's so knowledgable while not flooding you with information; she doles it out as you are ready to digest it. It's really a spectacular balance that she holds. You just really can't get enough of being around her! I recommend working out with Erica. Muscles will just start popping up all over your body and you won't hardly realize what you have been doing has been hard work!

Lily is amazing. She has created a supportive, welcoming and confidence-inducing (if that’s a word) environment. Her philosophy of mental and physical strength beyond just “weight loss” helped me learn to trust my body and what it’s capable of!

I've worked with Clayne weekly for the past six months, and this experience has been life changing! In this time I've experienced a complete reduction of pain (and learned strategies to use when pain recurs!), increased energy levels, significantly increased strength and mobility, and, what's been most powerful to me, an empowered outlook on movement practices and embodiment. I'm leaving my time training with Clayne with a deep connection to my own power and strength, increased trust in my body to heal itself and build resilience, and so many helpful tools like learning about proper form and learning a formula to build my own workouts. Clayne has been such a helpful guide in this process! He is an attuned and kind trainer with so much knowledge, and I always felt each session both met me where I was at and pushed me just enough to grow to the next level. I'm so grateful for Clayne and everyone at Pressing On for creating an environment of support, attunement, fun, and empowerment.

I spent several months here working with Clayne after a rough patch+stress had made me lose an unhealthy amount of weight. I cannot recommend him enough as a trainer! I wanted to be pushed and really build back my strength and regain the weight, and he kept sessions challenging while also super interesting and fun. I was amazed how much progress I made even going only once a week. I deeply appreciate and respect his philosophy and approach to training, and even though it was my first time doing weightlifting again in 10 years, I trusted him to keep things safe and careful and prevent injuries. I benefited so much from my sessions and felt way less aches and pains and much stronger during this field season as a result. I also love that his approach feels tuned in to mental health and being really intentional with how to support clients taking care of themselves and doing things for healthy reasons. Thanks Clayne!

I really don’t know how I can possibly convey the level of appreciation I have for Clayne at pressing on fitness!! I am a somatic worker myself, & come with a good amount of body awareness. Still, clayne has taught me so much about building strength, minimizing pain, & related aspects of wellness. When we began, I thought I was just signing up for some strength training plans. But from clayne i have received education, regular & incredibly intentional evaluations, & a very tailored, flexible experience. I don’t know how else to say it other than that clayne is able to work with the whole person, as opposed to just a compartmentalized chunk of their life. It rules! Pains have subsided & my range of motion has been completely restored in my cranky left shoulder. Stoked to keep working together!

I’ve been working with Hans for the last 3 months and he is such a knowledgeable, awesome, and patient trainer!! I’ve been struggling with a back injury since this spring that has limited me to only walking about ~10 minutes without significant back pain. Due to much lower mobility, I was feeling increasingly out of shape / breathe, but didn’t know how to work out without further injuring my back. A google search led me to Pressing on Fitness for their injury-conscious approach to personal training. Hans has created a training regimen for me that built directly off of my physical therapy routine, with a goal of strengthening my core and lower body. As many core and lower body activities triggered my back in the beginning, Hans worked quickly to adapt or replace exercises, tailor a workout routine specifically for me based on how my back reacted, and concentrate on building strength slowly. I’m now able to do exercises like single leg step ups and deadlifts that my back absolutely whimpered at 3 months ago. His great instructions on proper form for deadlifts now live in my brain and I think I’m a deadlift convert! The most important thing though is that I feel completely supported in my back health journey and never shamed if I need to pause or stop an exercise that causes back pain – he just finds an adjustment that doesn’t trigger my back and motivates me to move forward. Also, the gym is a super welcoming space – the other trainers and everyone I’ve met there so far seem like great people.

This place is great! As someone who has traditionally felt uncool or awkward in a traditional gym environment I can't express how wonderful it feels to be welcomed and accepted here. No one telling me about my body fat percentage or trying to get me on keto, no one making me feel like I'm bad at exercise. Just overall good vibes! Also the music is đź’Ż, at least in Clayne's group class.

I train with Erica twice a week, after taking over a year off due to surgery and illness. She’s fantastic and I’ve seen a ton of progress without injury over the past four months. Training is fun and challenging, with good conversation too! This gym feels very welcoming and inclusive. Love it.

Lily is the best! She’s an incredible trainer, a great teacher, and creates such a supportive and compassionate environment that really allows for a focus on growth. I came to her with a combination of issues involving an incomplete recovery from a recent major injury, problems with an old injury, and a very inconsistent level of conditioning from years of bike riding. Despite my total lack of prior experience in the gym, Lily has helped me work through each problem with a lot of encouragement, knowledge and kindness. From the reduction of chronic pain to increased strength and really enjoying riding again, coming to Pressing On Fitness has been hugely positive.

I have never been someone able to stick with any sort of workout regimen or gym, until now. Working with Hans has been monumental in shifting my perspective of what my body is capable of, and keeping me consistent. Hans is the perfect trainer for me; supportive and patient, but motivating me to do the hard stuff I would never do on my own. Hans listens to my needs and goals and has plenty of modifications to accommodate my limitations when something doesn’t work for my body. I love Pressing On Fitness and I’ve had such a great experience there. I’ve never felt so comfortable in a gym in my life. Train with Hans, you won’t regret it.

Pressing On Fitness is a great place to get comfortable with working out, especially as a beginner! I worked with Erica for 6 months and it was the best experience. I learned a lot that I can now practice myself and the energy at the space is positive and encouraging. Would recommend to anyone starting their fitness journey or deepening any existing practices they have.

I recently did 10 training sessions with HANS and it was a great experience! I have always wanted to give weight lifting a try but felt too intimidated to properly go for it. I decided to work with a personal trainer so that I could safely learn the ropes, in a welcoming and inclusive environment. Hans was knowledgable, patient, and always showed up with thoughtfully prepared work outs that were challenging, balanced, and considerate of my existing injuries. I appreciate his gentle and understanding approach to fostering my confidence and knowledge in strength training. I would 10/10 recommend Hans as a trainer, and look forward to continuing at Pressing On!
