I appreciate the structure and professionalism of BJJ Olympia. Everyone is very welcoming and genuinely wants to help you meet your goals. BJJ is great for women, and I love that there are a few who show up regularly. We need more women in this sport, and this is a great place to learn! Come join us!

We have been taking our 11 year old daughter and 8 year old son here for about 9 months now. In short, the gym is great, Coach Robert and the other coaches are excellent with kids, and the gym community is committed to teaching kids (and adults) BJJ. We wanted our kids to learn self defense and build a sense of confidence in their ability to take on difficult situations. The first couple of weeks were extra hard, but the kids quickly started learning techniques they could rely on to have fun while sparring. Coach Robert is very patient and encouraging with kids, while at the same time requiring the kids to focus on getting technique right (which is great). Sometimes as many as 30 kids at a time come to class, and his classroom management skills are very impressive. He also keeps track of all the kid’s skill levels (and names) by knowing all of the kids, and is able to pair them up very well so your kid is always learning. You can take your kids 6 times a week (8 if you count tournament classes). All kids classes are typically taught by a black belt instructor (Coach Robert), but every now and then the kids get the opportunity to learn from one of the other experienced adults in the gym. Tournament classes and Friday sparring classes are definitely more intense, but a great opportunity for the kids to use what they have been working on during the other classes that week. Taking our kids multiple times throughout the week has definitely resulted in fast growth for them as individuals, and they love coming to class. Coach Robert and Coach Lindsey are very supportive and willing to answer any questions you have about your child’s development.

I've been coming here for years and it's always a good time. Very welcoming for the entire family. Kids classes provide exercise, discipline, and a positive social setting. Adult classes include Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and kickboxing. No matter what you're experience level, this place will help you learn and sharpen your skills. Haven't had this much fun as an adult since I was a kid, it's a blast!

This is a positive place to be. From the owner Robert, to every sparring partner I have had, my experience has been one of inclusivity, empowerment and encouragement. I am a female. There are many females that train here. I feel safe and just like another person on the mat who is there to learn and be the best version of themselves. BJJ provides the space for this. I highly recommend this school for all ages.

A great training environment for both kids and adults. Whether you are looking to get a great workout, learn self-defense, or compete at a high level, this gym has it. Top quality instruction you won't find anywhere else, coupled with a great, supportive learning environment. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

One of the most important things to me in finding a gym to train at is a sense of community and safety. This meets those tenants and beyond. Great leadership, Flexible schedules, kids classes, and a great deal of insight that you may not get at other training facilities.

One of the best places to take kids if your looking to have them learn something new or if you just want to get them active… this is the place. They learn strength within themselves, and discipline and respect for them selves and others….

The instruction here is top notch. The community is warm and welcoming. There are no egos here, just people helping each other become better. My daughter (8yrs) has been going here for about 7 months now, and the improvement in her confidence and resiliency is phenomenal. My family is very grateful to have found BJJ of Olympia. Thank you Coach Robert for all that you do.

I absolutely love this place. The vibe is friendly and people of all levels are welcomed, from newbies and casuals to those competing at national and international tournaments. Coach Robert sets a tone of professionalism and mutual growth that has seeped deeply into the culture of the gym. The benefits of BJJ to self development and to real self defense situations is regularly highlighted. Wonderful kids program as well, which my 10yo loves. I feel very lucky to be a part of this gym and can't say enough good things about it. I have a strong sense that everyone who trains here is a better person for it- more resilient, more capable, more aware of one's strengths and limitations, and more in tune with what it takes to improve oneself in all aspects of life. That is certainly true for me.

Started Kickboxing and BJJ this month and I’m very impressed. All of the instructors are extremely knowledgeable and professional. The environment is so welcoming and encouraging! Definitely a place to come get away from daily stress and learn real and valuable skills. There are members of all ages and experience levels so it’s easy to fit in. I don’t have young children, but the kids classes are always wrapping up when I get there and the kids and parents seem to absolutely love it. Last, but certainly not least, they have the most reasonable prices I’ve seen after researching many places. I highly recommend BJJ Olympia if you are looking for a place to train.

My son recently started going here and we couldn't be more happy and comfortable. The instructors are extremely helpful with newcomers and making them feel like they belong. All the instructors seem well-informed and it's an overall grade community feeling. Highly recommend to those looking for an establishment either for their kid or for their adult selves!

Bjj of Olympia has a friendly community and is a great place to train. I’ve been coming here for over a year now and I can’t get enough of it. If you’re thinking about starting your training, just come in and try it out. The hardest part is showing up, but once you do you’ll never regret it.

I cannot express how great this organization is. My 10 year old daughter started coming by a recommendation from a friend to build her confidence. Robert, the gym owner and main instructor, went out of his way to make her comfortable, and she took to the sport, the other children, and Robert almost immediately. He is phenomenal with the children (and adults too, I am sure) - just the right amount of toughness and grit, along with empathy and compassion. This sport and gym is going to shape the rest of her life - her habits, mental and physical toughness, and resilience. Such a great influence on this community. Thank you.

I have been coming here for about 4 months and can’t say enough about the owner and fellow practitioners. Recently at a competition one of the guys in my group asked how long I'd been competing. After our rounds he said he was really impressed considering the short amount of time. He asked if I liked my teacher and I told him how great our gym is. I said the owner does such a great job instructing and creating an environment where we are all learning from one another. He said they must be doing something right to be bringing new students along so quickly.

My kids go to Jiu-Jitsu here and I will never take them anywhere else. Robert and his team foster such a healthy, respectful and responsible outlook of the sport. They really know how to work with kids and encourage them to be their best .

BJJ Olympia is an amazing place for kids and adults. My husband and daughter both love going there. My daughter was dealing with bullying at school and we looked to jiu jitsu to build her confidence. Robert has been a great mentor to her and she has grown to be a confident, strong, young girl. I can't say enough positive things, we love BJJ Olympia.

My boys had the option of BJJ or Karate lessons. They picked karate, so I signed them up at a karate gym but the earliest start date was a week away. This BJJ gym offered a free week drop-in trial, so we said alright, why not. After a week, my boys refused to switch over to karate because they’ve enjoyed their trainings and the friends they’ve made already here. It’s been a little over a year now and both my boys have shown tremendous growth. Much appreciation and thanks to Robert and the many coaches for their ongoing help and support. They really treat you like family here and check in on you, not limited to only matters related to BJJ. This place offers two 30 min competition sessions each week (at no extra cost!!!). I highly recommend you take advantage of this if your kiddos plan on doing tournaments. We love it here, come join us

I came to BJJ Olympia with little to no prior experience in the art with the hope that I would become more educated and capable. It has been about 4 months since I started taking classes and this academy has exceeded all of my expectations. The facility is clean, spacious, and organized. Robert's instruction is clear, patient, and punctuated with humor as well as an underlying passion that he has cultivated over the course of his several decades of experience. The degree of camaraderie and kindness present in the students and professors alike continues to impress me. I would highly suggest this academy to anyone who is looking to take up the art of BJJ.

I love this place. I bring my 3 sons here, ages 6, 8, and 11. Robert is a top-notch coach and teacher. My youngest was very hesitant at first, and the other kids in the class helped him until he came into his own. I also started taking classes as well. There are fundamental classes for beginners as well as more advanced classes. You can also just come roll before class starts. There is something for everyone here, and no one will make you feel like you do not belong. There is also a family plan that won't break the bank if you have a larger family like mine.

This Jiu-Jitsu gym is of the highest quality and work. I have never left a google review but it occurred to me that this place deserves to flourish. The training and instruction is thorough, clear, and engaging. The atmosphere of the gym is open, friendly, and exciting. Whether you are someone looking to train seriously or simply get a workout in or learn for the first time, this is the place. I cannot recommend it highly enough, 6/5 stars.

Everyone here is super friendly and welcoming. The beginner classes are very fun and informative. Lots of open mat time and more competitive classes as well. Whether you've practiced BJJ before or if its your first time, I would definitely recommend this gym.

Love this place and so thankful our kids and family have this supportive community! Our son and daughter have been going her for several years. Robert is amazing with the kids! He is not only an incredible BJJ instructor but encourages them in everything they do. Kids classes are offered Mon-Sat, so as our schedule changes with other sports, we can still get in.

Robert is a great coach! I am so thankful for this gym and the positive influence that it has had on my 12 year old daughter, I have watched her confidence grow in the last few months and the support from the other parents is so positive and the atmosphere is so open and welcoming we truly feel at home here.

A great training space – just not for women or queer people. When I mentioned that I might tap out to prevent panic from my PTSD, an instructor told me that I would have to get over it eventually and that he was sure it wasn’t as severe as his trauma from going to war and telling me how many friends he had lost at my age, assuming that I hadn’t also lost many, many friends to self harm and war (I have) I told him that he had made me uncomfortable he proceeded to lecture me in front of my sparring partner that I didn’t have the life experience he had. The head instructor was great, but this ruined it for me on top of the price gouging from his financial coordinator. Edited after the owners response- Your standard pricing is an average car payment. Your instructor was clearly not advising me and was putting my partner and I in holds until we tapped out from pain to ‘make us tougher and see what we could take’. He clearly told me tapping out from PTSD would be weak. Also, they have a trans non-inclusive bathroom policy, which is kind of funny because they assume that trans people have the same body parts as they did before transition and to ‘protect the children’. They would be very wrong.

This place is truly for everyone. Men, women and children. All ages! I heard the great things about JiuJitsu so I decided to finally jump into martial arts. I started here at Olympia BJJ and wish I would have started sooner. Robert is awesome!! He cares about his students. If you train here you will become a more capable person. JiuJitsu is a little overwhelming in the beginning but if you come to fundamentals class and stick with it your body will pick up the art! The gym also has great and passionate purple, blue and even striped white belts that care about coaching others. Classmates are also pretty chill. The environment is comfortable and conducive for having fun and learning. If your on the fence about trying it out come in for a fundamentals class. They also have a great military discount! Also lots of open mat time so you can get training in 7 days a week. Thanks Professor Robert!

Bjj is about building resilient people through developing leadership qualities and being an example of sportsmanship in this top tier school, Olympia BJJ. You will find coach to be keen on every individuals journey, he is simply diligent and it shows through his students progress. Not to mention the entire gym is great for the whole family but especially great for children! It’s a great place to be part of or attend. You’ll find this gym to be lively and robust. Filled with white belts to black belts and toddlers and the more seasoned. You will be welcomed and confident here because it’s simply a great place with great people all learning a great art.

I recently had the pleasure of experiencing a truly fantastic atmosphere in the world of Jiu-Jitsu. From the moment my family arrived, the staff's warm welcome made us feel right at home. The customer service surpassed expectations, with attentive and friendly staff members going above and beyond to ensure our comfort and answering all our questions. What sets BJJ apart is its commitment to providing a fantastic learning environment. The teaching methods employed are both engaging and effective, catering to diverse age groups and skill levels. Whether you're a novice or seasoned participant, the instructors are skilled at creating a positive and educational experience for everyone. Our time there was nothing short of delightful, leaving us with lasting memories and a desire to return. They have a great “family package” deal that we are utilizing for my 3 kids (ages 9, 8, and 4).

I am a husband, father, first responder, coach and athlete. I have been coming here for over 10 years, and I couldn’t give it a higher recommendation. It is a complete melting pot of different people, personalities, experience levels and ability. The instructors are great at adapting to various levels and ages. And for those looking to push their jiu jitsu to the next level, there is a large number of driven people in both Gi and No-Gi that are both passionate about the sport and great to be around. It’s truly a family there, and their arms are always open and looking for new members to join our growing community. Adam C. P.S. my kids behave better because of jiu jitsu. Might be the biggest perk for my spouse.

I've been coming here for about a year, it's a great atmosphere! Robert the owner, cares and it shows, he strives to help everyone reach their fullest potential. He's always there to answer questions and still has a good time joking around, making it enjoyable. I recommend that anyone thinking about doing any kind of martial arts training or looking just to get into the gym come try this place out!! It's a great workout for the body, mind and soul!!

I recommend the BJJ Olympia gym wholeheartedly. The training is rigorous, fostering discipline and teamwork. There is ample amount of mat space. Instructor is skilled, enhancing my overall proficiency even as a beginner. Notably, students of all belt colors readily support newcomers and their growth.

I joined the gym in October 2023. Felt welcomed immediately - I am still new at this craft however the environment and people never made me feel like a newbie. The teaching is superb; slow, well thought-out, accessible. I highly recommend joining this gym if you’re interested in any sort of martial art.
