My wife and I just recently started going here and so far not very impressed. They recently remodeled the gym and didn’t tell us they were going to close it for 4 days. The toilet in the kids club bathroom still doesn’t work and very frustrating for our toddler who is trying to potty train. The gym is small very busy. There is also only one squat rack and it’s not sufficient for the amount of people waiting to use it. We spend a lot of time waiting on equipment to become available. Sometimes you have to “check out” a bar pad and other times they don’t care… poor communication with staff. The kids club staff is awesome! Other than that that, not impressed.

I would’ve given it a five star because I’ve been a member since 2007 when they opened up at this location. However, when I wanted to take my wife in inside, they asked for $20 for a day pass. That seems so petty and ridiculous. I tried to explain to them that they have seven day passes and 14 day passes on the website. I was told that I should have printed it out and brought it with me. However, we did get to speak to the manager, John who was able to register my wife for one day and let her in with the day pass

Love the gym, don’t like the staff. Don’t like the stacked fees and confusion. Just say how much EVERYTHING is in one conversation. “okay so first and last months payment + initiation fee + kids club + annual renewal + month to month + personal training” If I had known it would be like this then I would’ve skipped out. You have a pool, that’s the only reason I stay. If I get one more fee applied to my account I’m done and defecting to Crunch fitness. This is karma getting me for not going with the small business!! The pressure from sales staff can crush diamonds. Please don’t respond to me, you can receive a complaint without following up. There’s nothing to discuss.

It is good and you can tell because it gets crowded. I am a big fan of the sauna but hate the members that come in dump a bunch of water on the rocks even though it says not to. So it's not the gyms fault when it brakes just the dumb members. I recommend this gym but just know you will encounter members who think they own the place.

Any gym that requires a sales rep sit down and coerce you with used car salesmen tactics into a membership before you can even try out the gym is a complete scam and fully indicates where their priorities are. They’ll also call you non-stop and leave messages heavily implying you won’t reach your fitness goals if you don’t go with them. Their marketing scheme is geared toward the insecure and they know they can pressure people who are already feeling unsure about themselves into paying the outrageous up front fees and signing up *or* having the luxury of paying a higher monthly. Find a gym that cares about your goals beyond what your wallet has to offer, because this isn’t it.

This could be a really great gym... if only ....! If only the jacuzzi worked ALL the time. If only the water temperature in the pool was consistent. If only there were more than two treadmills on the first floor. (There are tons of them on the second floor. That's great for people who have no problem walking stairs to get to them. There is no elevator. ) If only there were better showerheads in the showers and they did a better job of cleaning up the mildew in the showers. If only they put forth more effort into bringing back water aerobics .....or any aquatic programs. If only the staff at least pretended to be interested in concerns or issues brought to them by their membership. Yep. This could be a great gym but it's not. The local YMCA is much better managed.

Great equipment and workers. Disappointed the face masks are not being mandated once inside the club per the most recent rules. You have to wear a mask to get in but more than 50% of the patrons take them off once they are in. I get taking them off on cardiovascular equipment but u have a bunch of people standing around playing on their phones with no masks on.

Good: Gym has good weights and floor space. Bad: Dry sauna stinks, Not cleaned for days. Trash just sits on the floor. The sauna also breaks so often I’m looking to quit my membership. Pool is closed every other month. There are literally flies on the shower walls and the grout it stained black. The floors are filthy. Think summer camp. Theft is such a problem they have fliers on the desk as a warning. Vehicles are broken into in broad daylight every week.

It is a very nice facility, but the staff who work here have no soft skills. The first time, I came with a friend who didn't have a guest on their account, and that's ok, I just opted for a free day pass. When greeted, the guy at the front was very robotic, and the person who took you off to the side to sell your membership was the worst of all. I think she probably was prompted to move away from the front desk for her lack of skills. I decided to try again, and when we came back, the same girl looked at us and rolled her eyes, and walked back to her spot before walking up to greet us. Definitely would not recommend joining through these specific people. I'd rather work out in a gym where I am treated with respect and greeted with a smile.

Nice gym, but there are only 2 squat racks/deadlift platforms. So waiting around for one to open takes forever. Only one incline bench, so you also wait around a while for that to open up as well. But if you want to play racquetball there are 5 courts that people barely use so it just seems like a bunch of wasted space. However they keep the gym clean which is really nice. Edit: I’ve been here 6 months and still only 2 squat racks and people will spend 1-1.5 hours on it so there is a good chance you will never get to use either of them. For the love of god LA Fitness please take one of the racketball courts and put more squat racks in.

Love working out at this gym used to be their lead janitorial person back from September 2022 through December 2023. I love that they kept some of my improvements. I miss working for them, and I'm glad to see some of my own coworkers are still there 😀

Based on my experiences here, just another typical, expensive gym. Not the best customer service from various employees I have encountered (which plays a huge factor). The equipment itself seems to be in good condition. Would not recommend this gym as a first option compared to other ones.

In town for a few weeks for business. Their sauna smells like feet and balls. I own a gym in Ohio, and it is full of meat head, and our sauna doesn't even smell that bad. There are no spray bottles on the gym floor and every night at I come into the club. Nobody is up front. Come on guys you can do better

The employees at the kids club seem miserable and impatient, they should definitely not be working with kids. The front desk employees weren’t very friendly either. I never received a tour when signing up so my first time going in for a work out, I was completely lost. And on top of all that, everything was dirty. I’ll be canceling my membership immediately and not returning.

Great gym you can get a lot of exercises done here. They even have excellent fitness trainers, especially Anita. I would recommend checking them out.

The gym is dirty!!!! Never seen them wiping the floor neither the facilities. The toilets and changing room looks like they barely clean it. The Kids Club especially the floor is so dirty. The kids have barely toys to play. The have a playhouse with a slide but none of the kids is using since is full of trash and broken Toys inside. They don’t play with the kids at the kids club instead they push them aside infront of a big tv. So I canceled my membership!

First visit in a long time. Was told I needed to pay. I explained my health insurance paid for my membership. Was told I needed to call insurance to verify. I left. I had VM on home phone stating the info was found and I didn't need to pay but I would need to update information upon returning. Okay, that's good. Stopped by next day to do that even though none of my info had changed. Was set up with a trainer the following day. More questions about my health and goals. Trainer walked me through some exercises. Afterwards I was led back to the intake desk and was offered a training plan for which I would have to pay for by automatic withdrawals. I had no idea that the meeting with the trainer was going to be a sales pitch. I had to explain over and over that I did not have financial means for any 'program' they were trying to sell. I feel LA Fitness was not clear about their intentions and put me in a very uncomfortable situation. The trainer/salesman was super nice but I am extremely unhappy that I was put in that uncomfortable situation in the first place!

Generally clean, and good equipment. Large free weights area. Recent remodel is great except for the equipment was moved way too close together. And currently, there is not ONE working hand sanitizer dispenser anywhere on the gym floor… is it that hard to maintain a working hand sanitizer machine!?!?

I love the gym itself but they need better cameras and security!!! Peoples cars are constantly getting broken into and windows busted out. Also someone’s car got stolen from the parking lot! Their camera quality is horrible. Not something you want to worry about while working out!

BRING BACK THE SQUAT RACKS Every employee in the kids club is amazing! I cant say enough good things about the kids club. It's really great I just wish they had a padded area for smaller kids to crawl and lay on the floor. And they need a backup helped for when it gets crowded. A lot of people sit up at the desk and there will be one person drowning in crying toddlers all alone. I really loved this gym before the remodel. With the remodel they added an awesome truf space with a good amount of area to do different types of workouts BUT THEY GOT RID OF THE SQUAT RACK. they now only have 2 squat racks and 2 smith machines. People grab bars from other places and attempt to use them for workouts. Such a poor decision. The equipment is super squished together now after the remodel. I was hoping they would have gotten rid of one of the FIVE racquet ball quarts instead. You have to ask to have things like gym mats because they lock them up, I get told to "do something else" by some kid at the front desk. This gym has a lot of elderly people. The sauna is pretty gross and very loud at times and a lot of elderly people use it, and most dont shower/go in in their sweaty gym clothes so it gets really gross if theres people in there. I dont care about the mask mandates but they dont keep a lot of areas very clean ex bathrooms, mold in showers, trash in locker rooms, dust bunnies and lots of hair around the gym. Be cool if there werent globs of hair everywhere.

Came in and was automatically greeted by member services. The sales team is very professional and treated me very well and asked me about my goals. John who took care of me is very kind, courteous, and professional. He made me feel very welcome. This gym is up to par with my needs and my love for working out. The gym is clean and the clientele is very nice. I'm very satisfied. A+++ for great customer service and overall cleanliness. This gym has everything I need to meet my goals. Thank you :)

I've been coming here for years now and one thing I've noticed recently that has improved is the cleanliness. The janitor staff has been doing a great job at cleaning the place and also being courteous to members. It's really nice to come in to the gym and easily be able to see that it's clean. Great job, keep it up!

My sister and I love hitting legs here. They have a lot of diff plates so that’s cool. Never have to wait TOO LONG for the squat rack which is nice and it’s never too busy during the time we go (morning- afternoon before high schoolers get out of school)

Been a member since early 2020 overall great gym with a variety of equipment it could use more Olympics lifting platforms for squats and deadlifts. As those are the gold standard of lofts for any kind defuse routine.

  • 1/5 Bob M. 8 months ago on Google
Hordes of zoomers watching TikTok while their barbell remains on the squat rack untouched for an hour straight. Don’t bother asking the front desk to regulate these mindless zoomer zombies or suggest they even remotely enforce a reasonable time limit, you’ll be met with a meek “I’m sorry you feel that way.”

  • 1/5 Hali L. 1 year ago on Google
Been here for over 5 years but not happy with cleanliness and it’s getting worse. Jets in jacuzzi are broken most of the time bathroom and showers are not clean dust and dirt on the floor and machine. Most importantly I had to cancel my daughter’s membership because in this heat they don’t have AC in kids club and every time she goes there she come back sick with frvers. Not happy. I wished there was another gym to switch to but thy have monopoly and we can’t just not go to gym.

  • 1/5 Griffin W. 8 months ago on Google
I have been a daily usual at this gym for two years now. Unfortunately in broad daylight someone broke through the window of my Mercedes and stole my wallet and personal belongings. My vehicle was easily within line of sight of the front desk, and even after telling them that someone had broken into the vehicles, the staff did not even make an attempt to help out with what was going on. This gym does NOT apparently have any cameras and the staff are too busy playing on their cell phones to notice people breaking into cars at 10AM. It’s 2023, spend a little bit of money and get some basic security cameras! To not have cameras watch the facility is a joke. The staff when notified that cars were broken into responded with, “Dang, not again…this keeps happening.” BEWARE, THE STAFF AND THE BUSINESS CLAIM ZERO RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR OWN FACILITY AND ANY VANDALISM OR THEFTS. Tell your front desk folks to get off their cell phones!

My home gym is in Seattle, coming to this little gym was a shock!( I should have taken photos) the free weights area is tiny! The dumbbells rack was disappointing, the weights went by 5lb(exp they have 4 rows of 45lb dumbbells and the next weight was 4 rows of 50lb) missing the in between weights :/ The layout of the gym is odd and quite crowded and not spacious at all. They had an upstairs which was full of treadmills and ellipticals. I don't understand why gyms have so many cardio machines but they take up 90% of the gym space. The front desk staff were very friendly and greeted me when I entered and when I left. Overall 4/10.

  • 5/5 Rachael P. 1 year ago on Google
It is THE most awesome gym. Great pool, hot tub and sauna. The only thing missing is an ice water dunk for after the sauna. Way better than the YMCA. Way less crowded and very few activities in the pool so is available for individual use almost always.

This is a great gym but like in the other reviews the communications in the staff make it impossibly hard to navigate even while maintaining a membership. I have been a member for 6 years and have had multiple trainers because of the influx of employees. If you become a member and freeze it due to work they will harass you and I'm not kidding every other day you will receive multiple calls a day even while it being noted not to call you again.

  • 3/5 Marcus R. 1 year ago on Google
While I think this place can easily get 5 stars, that's just a couple issues I've seen rising in the past few months of going. The area has a homeless problem, and some of these folks have been coming in and not working out, just chilling on the walls or in the bathrooms. I think LA fitness could do better, to 1. Help these folks. 2. Provide a more comfortable environment for its customers. I'll still go, just not the happiest with the situation.

  • 1/5 H J. 9 months ago on Google
Worst customer service experience of my life. If I could give zero stars I would. Went there to find out about a refund during covid because I was not a fan of their lack of policies. The boy at the front desk ignored me after he tried to tell me I couldn't ever get a refund. He literally ignored me for an agonizing amount of time thinking I would walk away, when I just wanted to know how I could speak to someone other than him. I've been there multiple times since and there is never a manager there to speak with. He acted like the owner when he is literally a water boy. I haven't seen him in there since but if I do I will make a point to name him to his employers as the worst service experience of my life.

Little far from my home but its a great gym. I have tried almost all the gyms in Olympia/Lacey area but nothing compares to LA Fitness. The staff, equipment and facilities, all are worth the price, which is not bad at all considering some of the expensive gyms around with minimal facilities. The only thing i wish they had were a proper designated enclosed changing areas and not just a locker room.

  • 3/5 B M. 4 years ago on Google
The gym is fine but they seriously NEVER EVER clean the bathroom showers, this black mold on the ceiling (and other grout that is 100% within reach so no excuse there) has looked exactly the same for over a month. Worse than a college dorm. It's like they pick up the hair from the shower drains and that's it. Pretty gross.

My kids shoes were stolen, security in the kids area is very lazy, just a bunch of little girls looking at there phones. I had to ask for them to check my kid in....I dont think he was really check in, we did not have to check him out. The childcare of seems good when they are trying to sell you, then it's back to texting on the phones. My bit of advice is to stop employees from texting in the child care area and watch the children.

Good location. That being said, it’s always crowded I’ve lived around here for about 15 years now and the population has exploded. Very few times during the week that’s this gym is unpopulated. Haven’t tried early AM yet. But I don’t like the layout of having to walk down the middle of the gym to get to locker room. I think they could have a bigger stretching area and some of the machine they have are but useless/never used. They do offer classes i think you have to sign up. I dislike the hours on the weekends not sure why they are shortened. I think they could update some of these weight machines. Also the locker rooms do seem a bit dirty. Could do more deep cleaning seeing as they don’t seem to have cool air in this gym the moist hot air must grow all kinds of bacteria. Everyone is mostly nice if people are acting irritating I just act like I can’t speak English.

Ive been going for a little over a month now and have really enjoyed it so far. The Bodyworks class with Abbey was AWESOME! The pool is a decent size and no kids allowed which helps for sure. My daughter loves the kids klub and theyre good about snuggling my son (10months) Its a great price overall, too. Very clean and big. I do wish they had a suit spinner and a little more privacy in the locker room.

Old Chinese proverb: 'man without smiling face should not open shop.' On the plus side, the equipment is good and varied. Except for the leg curl machine (only one) which has people waiting all the time. Please put another one in. The so called trainers don't seem to be too competent. Evidently all that is required is that you know what the machines are called. If I was running that show, the trainers would be competitive bodybuilders or power lifters. Some one who knows what is.

It's a typical LAF. It's got plenty of cardio and strength equipment. It seems like the free weight area usually results in a wait for a bench. Good place for cardio classes; typically bikes of yoga and aerobics. SECURITY: There have been multiple parking lot and locker room thefts here. Leave nothing visible in your car. Lock your locker. There are NO security cameras anywhere here.

For the last 6 months my key hasn't worked at any location except the lacey office here. The crazy part is I kept getting charged. After getting back in the state after much b...
