Carlyon Beach

Public beach Association or organization

😠 No public access out on this entire peninsula. Wanted to kayak to the nearby nature preserve island but everything on the point is residents only. Spent an entire day trying to find a place to drop a kayak in the water.

It is a private community. So they don't want you driving around and taking a look. The few people that we saw or spoke to were very friendly. The houses are incredibly close together but the view is wonderful . But you really have to like your neighbor because you can probably hear them cough

It's a cool beach but NO DOGS. And it's for residents only. A lady tried to kick my family out because our car didn't have the stickers even though we were there for a registered gathering.

I grew up in this neighborhood. I’ve always loved it here. But in the last 5 years the home owners association has been riddled with bigotry and hate. This association will make judgments and change policies based on personal biases. I’ve witnessed a handicapped man and his service animal chased out of the park by rich older folks with no personal reason for doing so. I’ve witnessed guests of home owners harassed and threatened by the association for just being around. During the holidays they restrict the roads and close down access to friends and family unless you’re a resident. I’ve missed several events because the guy at the box wouldn’t let me passed because he “didn’t recognize me”. What this association is doing is criminal and it’s a moral fault to be greedy with Gods land. I wouldn’t recommend anyone purchase a home here

They have a section of the beach that has really nice sand. There's lots of baby crabs that are fun to watch swim, and generally the jellyfish don't get too close, but be cautious! There was also another part of the beach that was full of beautiful shells and rocks, including quartz and jasper. Overall it was very lovely and well maintained.

Beautiful space on the water!!!! Awesome wildlife , out and about if your lucky you will catch a glimpse! By air , or in the waterway. Dock for boats! Play ground , lots to explore

Yes, Carlyon is private. We cannot afford to open it up to the public and incur the maintenance, policing, and costs involved with public use of our launch and marina. Many retired folks live here and are on a fixed income. Septic mitigation is always a concern and here again we can''t accept the impact created by public access. There is a launch at Gravelley Beach I believe.

Being a private beach for the residents it is awesome. Not a lot of people and the kids can hang out in the water.

No public access or parking, completely closed off for HOA residents and guests. Fencing & security blocks any launch or access to Hope Island.

For the one star review I suggest you buy a lot if you want to enjoy our community. Having lived here now for 57 years, my family has paid for every improvement done here. And those who want to just drive in and enjoy it have not. Should we come to your house and BBQ in your yard? Come for the 4th of July and leave all our fireworks and party trash? This is our home.
