Yes, yes, a quaint little trail and the aesthetics are pleasant, sure. So why the one star? Because this "artificial lake" is a testiment to the foulness of the city. Not only did they burn over 100 homes and put as many families in the streets to build it. But doing so has destroyed the natural, functioning beauty and environment. They have killed off many native species that can no longer survive in the all-fresh water that was once an estuary. And the lake is now host to many terrible parasites, invasive plants and toxic algae, pollution has risen to such high levels that people aren't even allowed to touch the water. It's an atrocity, this lake. An abomination. And it needs to be amended. The dam needs to go.

Very fun trail. Love to go catch some pokemon here. Capital lake is a wonderful place to go on a walk with the family or friends. The lake is infested with snails that make the water dirty and not healthy, as said on the signs you see all around it, so dont touch the water. The view of the Capital Building is very pretty. Not too hard of a walk, very little hills.

Nasty gross water, remove the dam!! Restore the mudflats and estuary to budd inlet, this water has been closed and polluted for so long its ridiculous. It is a reflection pool of the poo we spread. Save the salmon!!!!! FREE THE WATERS!!! FREE THE FISH!!! WE LOVE SALMON!!!!!!

Unfortunately the camping across from the lake has led to rvs and cars parked indefinitely, and garbage (including needles and used condoms) on the sidewalk.

Currently has dead grass post lakefair....and the water is stinky and has dead fish in it....but if you plug your nose it has some great views and wildlife.

This lake is not supposed to be here. Let the dam go, make something new that includes the wildlife population. The lake needs to be taken care of, there's plastic all up in that water and the ducks still live there!

This is a nice place to go for a walk or a run. I love looking at all the ducks in the lake. The trees are nice to look at as well - especially in the fall.

Nice paved walk around the pretty lake. You can see various birds and the Capital Building reflecting over the treetops onto the lake. Nice people, all dogs are leashed, stroller and wheelchairs accessible.

I took my service dog for a walk there. It was really peaceful. Lots of people walking around the lake. My only problem was someone was in the women's disabled stall the full almost 2 hours I was there. I don't know if they were sleeping or what. There was a couple gentleman that said that someone was in the only toilet stall in the men's restroom also, they kept asking him if he was okay. There was workers there in the back of the restroom building, they didn't do anything about them taking up the stalls. It's a beautiful place, but a few people are living in the park, I just hope it doesn't turn out to be like it did in 2011, or 2012. I remember that the police and swat teams had to move everyone out, and it was a horrible clean up job after.

Great lake to walk around! Hope they don't let it turn into a swamp like a few people want ☹️

It would be a nice walk around the lake with the family. Just know there is a lot of random off the wall stuff that goes on,on 1 side of it due to the homeless camp
