McLane Off-Leash Dog Park

Dog park

😐 It's great! But please leave your kids at home. There should be a "no children under 12" rule that the city enforces. Though it should just be common sense to not have your children running around chasing strange dogs--that's dangerous! Take your children to the kid's playground--there are many more... People often mention dogs, park, water, area, play, small, areas, pretty, great, fenced,

It's great! But please leave your kids at home. There should be a "no children under 12" rule that the city enforces. Though it should just be common sense to not have your children running around chasing strange dogs--that's dangerous! Take your children to the kid's playground--there are many more of those in Olympia than there are dog parks. I doubt parents would like it if my dog were running all around a playground off-leash and this is how we feel about your kid at the dog park!

Amazing! Huge and all kinds of different terrains for the dogs. Big and small dog play areas. Paved trail around the outside of the park, along with a dirt trail on the inside of the park. Great people as well.

I do enjoy taking my dog here. She's a bigger girl even at 6 months old. There is a small dog area and a bigger dog area. Well fenced with a wide open area for the dogs to play. There are some dogs that are overly aggressive/playful so keep an eye on your dogs. There is some water there on occasion however I still bring my dog some water she's done playing. It's a little smelly due to the amount of dogs peeing in the play area but that's pretty much unavoidable. Overall a nice place to burn some of that dog energy.

Very pretty patch of land with plenty of room to run. Missing running water for clean water bowls and it’s pretty dusty from the gravel but our dog had a great time.

I’m sure many people would find it helpful that this park has separate areas for small and large dogs. There are some drawbacks. The ugly waste of half-dead scotch broom is the primary vegetation, the lack of drainage in several areas, and piles of trash and debris around the perimeter. It is also rather small. However, it does look like these things are in the process of being cleaned up; and it looks like there’s plenty of room to expand the park.

It's mostly open fields but the dogs absolutely love it. Dog trails everywhere.

Awesome park for the dogs!!! Love it!!! Just missing any type of water source. Have to bring your own jag of water to the park.

Love how huge and wild this park is. They've got all the best puddles fenced off, but pup still had a blast running through the Scotch broom. Plus it's very clean - folks are good about picking up after their animals!

Park is huge, but not all accessible by powerchair. Wasn't able to see all the offerings and the accessibility is funny. Apparently paving the area outside of the accessible parking spaces, but not TO the opening of the gate was a decision of someone who never consulted a disabled dog owner. No pavement from the sidewalk to the dog park and lots of ruts too big for a wheelchair. It took me three tries to get onto the payment at the large dog opening in my powerchair. Video below is from inside the park. Great sized park, now let's think about the humans that travel to it. Also, many empty dishes placed all around the dog park with no water spigot to fill them.

Good peeps and awesome dogs. Plenty of open space but also little trees and plants the dogs can play around (a nice change for my pup). Bring a jug of water to fill a few dishes for the pups.

This is a wonderful place to take my Dog's and let them run. I typically choose to take mine at night (due to them not liking other dogs). They LOVE IT!!!! It's the only place that I am comfortable taking them to because of the LARGE fenced in area I know that they are secure.

Great area to play with your dogs. They have trails you can walk on, and there are fenced areas for small dogs and larger dogs. There are no restrooms.

Great area for both small and large dogs. Usually not too crowded but plenty of dogs to play with. I would recommend bringing water for your dog as there are no water spigots there. Overall great park with trails and open areas for your dog to run around

There are some little trails for the dogs to run around in that they like. The open area is pretty rocky and sandy and could be better. There seem to be pretty regular times that other dog families come out which makes for some nice play time. There is increasingly larger dogs coming over that is concerning for our little dogs just because of their size and rough play.

Such a wide open space for dogs! I've only been once, but its beautiful. One thing I could live without is the blind spots (a.k.a. bushes). As a dog owner that strives to always be responsible and never take my eye off my dog. It makes me nervous knowing I could lose sight of my dog, but having a good recall should mitigate that.

It is a great place to take dogs to get exercise, love the 2 sided structure! One side for big dogs, and one for little dogs, my little dog loved it!!! 😁

Very cool dog park! Went there on a Monday evening and it wasn’t very busy. Very large space to roam and walk.

There is no water on the property but otherwise my dog has had a wonderful time here. The small dog side is much larger than i expected.

Cute park nice big fenced space to run your dog. Dog area butts up to the nature trail so there's walking trails that my dogs loved. Some shaded areas and trails through the brush for dogs to explore. πŸ•

Decent space. Fairly small. Not a lot of room to train outside the play area if that is your goal. Everything is cordoned off with a 4 ft fence. It was also pretty dirty due to people not picking up after their pets. Okay if you need a place to go but not somewhere I would go out of my way to utilize.

The dog park is great. 2 spaces. One for friendly dogs of all sizes to run and play and explore. A smaller are for smaller dogs, seniors, or shy pups (this spot is great for larger dogs too if they don’t always get along with other pups). Both areas are fully fenced. I take my brothers dog there we have walked the parameter many times. Since this area is still pretty new beware of the mud after it rains. Since they seeded but didn't lay any protective layer down its a bit muddy. There is a bowl for water (may need to pack water in), there are poop bags there if you've forgotten some, and a trash bin for disposing said waste. Only 1 bench for people to sit at. Lots of parking spaces.

The park is fairly good sized with a "shy" dog option. It has the two gate entry for the dogs safety and (maybe) 20 parking spots. It's kind of hard to find since it's right in with freeway entrances but there's a turn lane. Definitely worth checking out. All the dogs were very friendly...my grumpy old man shi-tzu was the only one with an attitude problem.
