I hate to do this as my wife just had a separate experience prior to me and has already posted. I would like for my review to help parents understand what they are getting into. You will not receive communication from the ownership or leadership of this facility. You will have to pay very high fees for poor costumer service. There is one lifeguard on duty who very rarely pays attention, the instructor that we have currently is wonderful and I would love to take her with us to where we will be going next. However, before her, it was a revolving door of instructors, and most of whom are high school kids that have little understanding of children or their needs. This program is not accredited or based on any educational proficiencies, and this can be seen by the repetitive nature of each class. We enjoyed the interactions with the other children and parents, but there was very little teaching to be had. Please, save your money until this facility has more focus on instruction and safety.

On our first day of lesson my husband had to jump in to save our three year old. The life guard on duty calmly walked over thanking him for doing her job. She didn’t even see what happened. There were three other lessons where there was no life guard on duty. Also, there is a lady with short brown hair who is extremely rude, unhelpful and will roll her eyes at you. I believe her name is Melanie. I was so upset and had to walk away in the locker room but she followed to harass me. I am writing this as I am still waiting for a call the owner since May 4th. Do not go here. You will regret it or lose your child’s life.

This was a okay experience for my daughter however if you miss a class even if it's from the pool being closed they won't schedule you on another weekend day they'll say they only have week days which is hard when you work and when you already paid for a weekend class for that very reason. Really the only nice staff member at the front desk is the guy. They rarely answer the phone or call back within a reasonable time. Instructions are nice but it's the exact same thing week over week no new skills or activities. Really not worth what you pay. Also under no circumstances is it safe for lifeguards and instructors to wear a mask or face shield in the pool.

I am so grateful that my kids can safely do swimming lessons right now. I have always been concerned about water safety and feel that my kids have learned many things to help them become safer and more comfortable in the water. I like the small class sizes and the instructors are fantastic. The teachers are wearing masks or face shields while teaching and families are also. One thing I would love to see would be gentle reminders to parents to correctly wear their masks or to step outside for a bit. Also, remember to pay your bill on time because the late fee is steep! Swim lessons are the highlight of our week these days. Grateful to have this activity for our family.

I have to write about how great this place is. I have been wary with the online reviews and mom groups on social media. We have been there since spring because the Y always books up before I have any opportunity… and I have a child who will jump off cliffs into the ocean. I need her to take swim lessons. Her little sister has struggled for 2 years to put her face in the water. She has been in swim classes in different places since she was 3. She didn't like being wet and looked miserable. Discover Aquatics is warm. I mean, is it the pool or is it the staff…. ? All of a sudden she loves swimming. This summer she capsized in a river and was dragged down by a wave on the beach. Both times, she recovered quickly and without tears. I really feel in my heart I have to credit Discover Aquatics for her growth and fearlessness as a swimmer. She simply had to get over that hump to hang with her big sister, who swam with manta rays in the Pacific last winter. I've rescheduled lessons without any issues. I am just very grateful.

If this pool wasn’t the warmest pool in town, I would pull my daughter out. Pool and locker rooms are clean and nice, but management is rude and no communication from anyone. I had to ask my daughter’s instructor what his name was. I had no information on what level she was in or what she was to be working on. When I asked, I felt like it was a huge inconvenience for the rude woman at the front desk to tell me. My daughter loves swimming and every other pool in town is too cold for her, so we still come for her sake, but I watch her class and her very closely after reading how many kids here have needed to be rescued by the parents

My son went here for about 7 months he didn't seem to learn much in his time there. He had the same teacher for awhile but now they're constantly changing and they all seem to be like 14 years old and don't seem to be very comfortable with the kids. The older man with the mask seems to be the only one who knows what he's doing. They've also been using my son to train the kids without asking if they could him to train. Witch takes time away from him learning and is confusing. They just raised their prices with less than a weeks notice it's now $85 a month. I can get private lessons at the ymca for that price as a member. I've noticed the last few months a lot of people have left .

I've been taking lessons there since I was a baby, super nice instructors, pool is at a perfect temperature. Did not feel rushed or to be perfect. GREAT TEACHERS! I am a very strong swimmer because of them.

Several miscommunications from this facility I spoke with General Manager who was dismissal of issues, pushy over talking me and hardly willing to accommodate the consumer even when they are the ones cancelling sessions. I understand my needing to make up a session at an any available time when I’m cancelling but there should be credit to my account when the facility is cancelling these sessions. I understand why there is some many undesirable nuances with doing business with this place. Poor consumer relations.

I take my 2 kids here for swim lessons each week. They love the lessons, the teachers, and are learning a lot. The facilities are clean, each time I am in the locker room there is someone sanitizing lockers, mopping the floor or cleaning the restrooms. The lifeguards on duty are attentive, the staff is friendly and communicative, if I get confused or need clarification they are very patient and willing to clarify. I recommend taking swim lessons here, or renting the facilities for a party.

You are required to sign up for over $500, and It's been 2 weeks, no one even to open the door. From some friends that have done this, slow teaching, lack of progress in learning, and constant instructor turnover, I'll be surprised if I even get a response back on my complaint. I'll consider the money stolen.

Beware: follow their cancelation policy. They have aggressive monetary policies and are all about the money. My child attended for 2 months in the summer which I paid for up front. I wrongly assumed she was done with classes at the end of that period and we wouldn't be charged further. They called me the next month and said I owed them that month's tuition and threatened to send me to collections if I didn't pay. They are already the most expensive swim class in the area by far, and they still employ predetory monetary tactics. I was going to send my kids next summer but now I will not after this negative experience. And I will recommend friend and family do not go there.

The instructors are very nice and did a great job with our son! However, 3 stars for how the facility is run and prices! We did the parent/tot class and you are only allowed into the locker room 5 mins before your class starts to change, I do not understand how they expect you to get yourself and your infant/toddler changed into swimwear/swim diaper, rinse off in the shower and get out to the pool in under 5mins. The locker rooms are also very small and crowded because they do not buffer between classes. Lessons are only 30 mins(but really 25 because of extra changing time) and pretty pricey for how much time you get with an instructor! We found a YMCA full membership+weekly 40 min classes is the same price, and you are allowed to be in their locker room for however long you want and use rec swim times! This location does not have competitive prices in the community!

The coaches seem to be good at working with the kids which is nice. I don't like how small the pool room is, it's very crowded and I also don't like that you have to walk through the locker rooms to get to the pool, that's very weird to me they don't have a regular enterence from the office.

One of the instructors (teacher Shy) is absolutely amazing with my kids and they progressed very quickly once switching to her. Unfortunately we will not be continuing our lessons here, because of the poor management and scheduling. It is very difficult to reach anyone by phone, they do not send out the proper date/time reminders of make up classes, which resulted in wasted drive time and bummed out kiddos (3 times). Our regular class was cancelled twice with poor notice and yet again given a make-up class that was incorrect. Theres zero follow up, remedy, or refund for these mistakes; only being told there's nothing they can do.

Called to sign up my daughter and then called back an hour later to cancel my request as husband wanted to wait a few months before having her start. They told me they didn’t do refunds something that was not communicated to me. I talked to a manager the next day who said I needed to wait for the general manager to call me. Never received a call from her so I called her and she wasn’t aware she needed to call me. General manager was rude, pushy and aggressive stating it didn’t matter if I called an hour later, dismissed everything I said and ended up refunding only partially. I would never do business with this company after the way I was treated.

I can only add on to what was mentioned already . Staff rotates constantly( most are very young and seem to be annoyed working with kids )/ management takes 2-3 attempts to get a reply or call back / staff office not the friendliest/ not trying very hard to get missed sessions rescheduled/ our son (6) didn’t learn how to swim in 8 month !!!! in 2022. We are back now and same issues!! this time I specifically ask for him to learn how to swim since he is very comfortable being in and under water. Sessions are mostly playing in the water or jumping in . wont recommend this place if you are looking for swimming lessons and will not be back . Pros: close to Olympia and warm pool Added: sessions are only 30 min ($85)and with a ration of 3:1 / and for some reason Kids with different swimming levels - your child might get 10 mins out of it .

Instuctors are fantastic. They have aggressive monetary policies. Read the fine print. You pay for classes even if they are closed for holidays or repairs. We showed up for our regularly scheduled class and were greeted in the lobby by unfamiliar people asking us to sign a new waiver. Apparently they were bought by a new swim school chain from out of state. It's difficult to get someone on the phone and the front desk staff is unfriendly and unhelpful.
