I was here twice. It can take a while to be admitted: 24-48 hrs or less, if you're lucky, less than 24 hrs. You just hang out in this little waiting room with a blanket and a pillow . . . my only entertainment was watching patients get checked out, don't remember if they had a tv in there, but if they did, I didn't use it. Once I was finally admitted, the room I was brought to was nice. You get your own room, which is REALLY helpful, because sometimes difficult roommates can make your condition worse. This is the first facility (unfortunately have had to be in many) where they have a video camera in the room, so that was weird. Staff seemed mostly caring, but I was joking once, and was said to not take it too far or "security would have me pinned against the wall in seconds." I wasn't being threatening in any way, so what the hell? (I won't name the staff member who said that.) It's actually a pretty nice facility as far as buildings go, with a high ceiling and whatnot. There was this really great group where a lady who'd been through similar experiences helped patients deal with their problems. Kudos to her, great person! Food is good. You have choices. There's still annoying drama, but you're going to see that in ANY mental health facility, no matter where you go

Great staff food sucks besides the lasagna! :) they all need raises for their contributions to society. But they shouldn't be switching people on all the drugs they normally take, it could kill someone. I wish you all the best. My thanks for being a place to go.

i was admitted for one night and they helped a lot with getting me an anxiety med that made me comfortable to leave the next day. the nurses were very nice checking in on me every so often, even when i was asleep made me more comfortable that they cared to make sure each of their patients was attended to and safe. the psychiatrist i saw was very helpful. the only downside is the room they put me in made me feel like i was different. i get it, not luxurious, it is a hospital but there was nothing in the room but a window, an un doored bathroom, a bed, a desk, and a wall to draw on with chalk. it was definitely an experience and I have learned by staying there not to take the outside world for granted.

I did not feel safe at Lasting Hope. My first night there a male patient (in his underwear) sneaked into my room and closed the door. I managed to get around him and open the door for help. The facility is unsafe and not clean.

I just wanted to say thanks in the most sincere way possible to Lasting Hope Recovery Center! They helped me through a mental snap I had. They have some of the most amazing people on board as staff. I could list a few, not sure if that would be frowned upon or not. Darn HIPAA laws ( it was sort of a running joke, darn Hippo in the room because of HIPAA ), any who, they got my life back on track. Was more or less a nervous wreck the few days leading up to my admittance. It ought to be named "Lasting Hope Learning Center" I think. They taught valuable life lessons and how to manage mental conditions through group exorcizes - play on words there - and group therapy sessions. The fellow patients almost become second family... Some of them you absolutely don't wish to lose contact with. Another way I look at it is, they provide a better education on self care than any for profit college does. Even through ups and downs I still always tried to have a positive outlook and would try to help other guests where I could. My experience there, as an aspiring writer, gives me fuel for another book I would like to write about mental illness and its gross mistreatment in this country. That's a story for another day.... I want to get involved with LHRC from a loving and supportive person standpoint. Donations... Peer Network Support Personnel. I'm very grateful for this place. I'd go back in a heartbeat if I recognize myself as having another mental episode. Will always keep them in my heart! Thank you all!

RUDE. Not concerned about other medical issues just psychiatric. My elderly mother is falling through the cracks. Told me I was argumentative when the nurse spoke over me every time I tried to talk to her

Never go here! Where to start? For starters, I am my wife's POA and Dr. Olson didn't call me or return my calls a single time during my wife's 5 day stay. Her assistant only called me once, and despite both my wife and I telling them that one of her meds wasn't working after 4 months and numerous negative results, Dr. Olson refused to take her off it. Dr. Olson misdiagnosed my wife's symptoms a month ago, and failed to put her on medication for her diagnosis (bipolar disorder and ptsd) and instead put her on Zoloft for anxiety. When she was back in there this time, Dr. Olson changed her diagnosis, but did not stop the incorrect medication. She lied about contacting my wife's therapist, refused to abide by wife's or my wishes, and refused to release her when she no longer consented to treatment. She refused to acknowledge me as my wife's spouse. Despite my wife telling her that due to her memory issues she didn't feel comfortable making medical decisions and wanted Dr. Olson to run everything past me, she refused to do so and proceeded to treat her however she wished. She also based her treatment on her personal opinion of our lifestyle, rather than professionally based on medicine and science. They care more about they're policies than patients rights under the law. When I requested to speak with the house supervisor, she refused and had a charge nurse speak with us instead. Despite my wife being neither suicidal nor a threat to anyone's safety, they threatened to force her to stay with a 42 hour hold of she tried to leave, she was a self admit. When I said I would be contacting lawyers if they continued to disregard our wishes or accept my wife's refusal to consent to treatment, they had security ask me to leave. They care about profits and policies, not treating and caring about patients and their needs. If you care about yourself or your loved ones, DO NOT EVER GO HERE. Dr. Olson is completely incompetent, the administrative staff is rude and unhelpful (when I asked the operator to speak to the doctor, they transferred me to Immanuel Hospital instead), and they will not listen to you or help you. This is an unsafe facility.

DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE. Nurses were disgustingly rude to my boyfriend who didn't agree with a medication and her response was"do you want to go home or not". Mind you he's been there for 5 days,no therapy, just pills down the hatch and a camera in the room what a joke. He has been asking since the third day when he came home and the same nurse he's been asking made that disgusting comment . I will be getting her name and I will be reporting this I'm very disgusted I was on the phone with him and I've heard the whole conversation when she realized I was on the phone she just walked out of his room very angry with your putrid staff member!

DO NOT GO HERE. I went in voluntarily and what I experienced, saw and overheard is alarming. This is not a rehabilitation program or facility. The lack of structure and safety for residents is concerning and neglectful. I witnessed a man hitting himself while staff members remained unaware. The staff members at lasting hope lack compassion and empathy to be working in the field they are currently in. They also overcharge and will run extra tests to run up your insurance SO BEWARE

This place helped me when I was in a dark place. The workers are lovely and very helpful sans for one or two that made me feel like I was a nuisance to them. Other patients were also quite friendly, and if it weren't for them, I would have just stayed in my assigned room and did nothing. The "therapy" (I say it like that because it was more like life lesson classes and various activities) they scheduled throughout the days I was there did teach me things that stuck with me to this day. I haven't been nearly as self destructive as I was before I was sent here, and even though I was really only there due to behavior related to prescription withdrawal, I came out a happier person.
