CHI Health Creighton University Medical Center - Bergan Mercy Emergency Room

Emergency room

😠 If you have the choice, never go to this emergency room. Not a single person in that hospital actually cares about your well-being. All questions are met with “I don’t know”. It will take over an hour of asking for medicine that was already prescribed by a doctor for it to actually be administered.... People often mention pain, staff, room, hospital, told, needed,

If you have the choice, never go to this emergency room. Not a single person in that hospital actually cares about your well-being. All questions are met with “I don’t know”. It will take over an hour of asking for medicine that was already prescribed by a doctor for it to actually be administered. Took them over an hour to simply get me a glass of water. I was constantly belittled and was told that I was overreacting about my symptoms before tests were even run.

Super unprofessional I Asked if I needed to check in as I’ve never been to an ER. Lady was like idk do you? Like seriously.. I’m not here to sell cupcakes.. once taken back they asked where I had surgery. The whole time ALL OF THE NURSES WERE MAKING JOKES ABOUT ME HAVING SURGERY IN MEXICO. Extremely unprofessional. The PA THEN let me go home before getting my blood draws back and called me an half hour later oh you should come back tomorrow for a ct scan and blood work when she literally asked me if I wanted one but she felt comfortable just letting me go home. I knew in the back of my head I should’ve gotten one but I trusted them. Very horrible experience. Do better!! People should be able to trust they’re in good hands.

Please avoid if you can. When I worked here the short time, I saw nothing but rude ER staff who did not care and the ER receptionist was saying lots of racial slurs about patients behind their backs.

Brought my husband here after slipping and cutting open his back, bleeding massive pain. Only reason we didn't have to wait in the lobby was because of how much blood there was, taken back into a room and have been sitting here for over 2 hours. Husband asked for something for the pain was told "I'll see what the doctor wants to do" that was well over and hour ago. There are nurses outside his room laughing and talking. 2 hours of waiting and still nothing is done. Never shouldve gone here

I had a panic attack while visiting a friend in the the ICU. My panic was caused by the terrible news I was receiving on her condition. I threw up 3 times while In the ER and requested but was given nothing for nausea. I was told there was nothing they could do since I was unable to swallow the anxiety pill, the pain pills and the Tylenol pills. They only put a IcyHot patch on my hurt shoulder. Very bad experience, I always experienced good and courteous service anytime I’ve gone to an ER but not this one unfortunately.

Emergency Room front staff is the worst customer service ever. You have people on the floor in pain and people profusely bleeding from broken nose. ER waiting room is full and no one going back in over two hours why keep taking people if you can’t help them.

To call what we received here couldn't be called "emergency care," it didn't qualify as healthcare. No urgency on part of the staff or the providers. I was part of an IT Contractor team that worked in other parts of the hospital M-F over a period of months and was impressed with what I saw day-day. The ER by comparison was third-world quality. I would never willingly set foot in this ER again.

Going to the emergency room for pain gets you nothing but profiling and ignorance on Dr. Part. This hospital emergency Dr. Didnt listen neither did the nurse. The one person that actually listened and could empathize was an exray tech by the name Shila. Hats off to her. Everything I told the er they came back to room hour later and informed of the same details I had expressed to them at time of admittance. Dr and nurse told me to get hold of a Ortho dr. Jeez dr. I would of never thought of that. He gave me the name of my own ortho dr. When did the patients become suspects and the dr's the gods of pain relieve. Here I sit in tremendous amount of pain . Why? Needing my second hip replacement. I've dealt with the pain thru cortisone shots I wanted too long before getting this needed shot. Now with extreme pain in lower back, tailbone to the point I can hardly walk or stand or sit. I just needed a shot of pain relief til I could get to my primary in the morning. Why should my insurance pay for this visit? They did nothing absolutely NOTHING FOR MY PAIN. Wat would the good dr do if it was his mother his sister his daughter ?

Intake staff were the only reason I give two stars( they were truly worth five stars. )Then change over happened and it went down hill. Never been treated so insignificantly by hospital staff ever. Staff should never be heard speaking trash about patients even for leaving against doctor's orders. Not only that but why was there no copy given to us of discharge or aftercare for his injuries. But he signed the leaving against doctor's orders so that must mean y'all are not required to give after care information .Would have been nice to know exactly I needed to procure to change his bandages instead I spent 150$ tto change it's three times.. because I have no idea what all he needed! But your not at fault cause he chose to leave. SMH never been so disappointed in not only him but of the the choices your staff made. So I would like to know how I am able to receive the discharge papers he should have received that would have contains aftercare for injuries.

I had a severe panic attack after taking an edible and dialed 911. I thought I was dying. Once the cops were done humiliating me ("You're just high. Have you been high before?") and EMT had confirmed that I really wanted to go to the hospital, I was brought here. Staff told me over and over again that there was nothing they could do and I'd just need to ride it through. No one asked me my history, what medications I was taking, if there was a person they could call for me (I was literally on the phone with my partner when I was being picked up). They did manage to get my social and insurance information though. Neat! When my partner finally made it to the ER, having gone to a different one first since he couldn't reach me and no one reached out to him, no one asked him anything either. I'm diabetic, have PTSD, and take multiple antidepressants. I'm in the process of tapering off of some. I had explained to the staff that I'm in 10/10 physical pain and felt like I was going to be paralyzed. I thought I might have tried to kill myself on purpose. Panic attack seems like a pretty easy diagnosis. Nope! Just a weed overdose. "Also, your glucose is high, you should see a doctor about that. Here's how to get a primary care physician." Cool! Yes. No way I have that already. There's no clearly visible marks on my arm from CGMs. Also on the After Visit Summary®, did you know that suicide is bad, and that if you feel like killing yourself, you should simply tell yourself not to do that? And if it gets really bad, it says to call 911 right away. Okay! Great! I won't be doing that. Thanks for taking me and my pain seriously!

I really needed to be seen today, because I feel very sick. But after reading these reviews I decided not to. Besides they let some kid in before me and I was there first. The last time I was there I had a concussion, fractured nose and needed stitches. I had to wait over 2 hours.

A relative was here recently while I was in the car, and they left HER DOOR OPEN THE WHOLE TIME SHE WAS THERE while she was getting her leg cut open, there was a lot going outside the door, and she said lots of people looked in. She panicked and cried, she tried to tell them about her anxiety but they didn't seem to acknowledge it. She told them why her blood pressure and heart rate was high but they ignored her. She said that Dr. Batman was outstanding and polite, besides kind of having to run everywhere. She got it though it was really busy. But her nurse had attitude for no reason? I know she's not a nurse who regularly works there, and didn't seem to know what she was doing. She said she lightened up towards the end of the visit but at first she was rude.

Went to Chi Health Emergency recently. Had to wait 6 and 1/2 hours to be seen for a possible GI bleed the staff is not good at their job only had one doctor on the floor nurses were rude waiting room was dirty trash all over never did discuss in person my blood work results will not go back. I recommend bringing food and water for your stay because it is going to be a long one

This place is top notch, from the front desk staff to the man who brought me my meals. The initial wait to be seen was long but when seen, the doctors listened and and took direct action that saved me a much more lengthy hospital stay. A hospital runs on it's nursing staff and these folks were very good with no perceived change in the standard of care during shifts changes and they had my complete trust.
