As of right now I am not impressed. My dad (healthy, played golf, Took care of my Mom) recently had a stroke. I flew in town from Virginia Beach to help my parents. Thank goodness my sister lives five minutes from Madonna. Tonight my dad finally called. At hospital he called several times to talk to my mom. He called tonight did enjoy his dinner. After that he was taken back to his room and was made to sit in his chair for over an hour in pain. No one checked on him and I called. He said that he heard the phone but they did not have the phone near him. He tried to get someoneโ€™s attention. And threw something out the door. The lady just picked it up and took it away. I am in healthcare and work at the top treatment center for children in the United States. Customer service and experience is everything. I am writing this because my sister and I want to go up there right now. We will wait till the weekend. This situation with my very independent dad is ripping me apart and on last Friday my dad was planning on playing golf not sitting in a chair at some rehab facility. I get being short of staff but I donโ€™t get and wonโ€™t tolerate staff being mean and not at least checking in or doing rounds. I could be wrong, like I said this just happened and is all new to our family.

Do not let your loved one go to Omaha Madonna. If you want your loved one not taken care of, not checked on, not changed, feeding tubes left in fecal matter, positioned in bed sideways, you want them to get bed sores UTIs or unknown scratches to their faces when they are in a vegetative state then Omaha Madonna is the place to go. Don't bother filing a complaint with the hospital administration because they won't do anything Don't bother trying to talk to charge nursesbecause they don't care. If you're loved one is a two-person plus assist don't plan on two people taking care of them you better expect just one trying to use hoyer lift by themselves which is against state regulations in any state. Plus staff will Scan that they were in the room and turn around and walk out. This hospital is a joke.

Staff are friendly and the facility is nice, clean, spacious, and welcoming. That's the positive. The negative is the care my dad received in the last two weeks of his life. I think that if he had the same nurse for more than one day in a row, perhaps someone would have noticed his physical and mental decline, which eventually led to pneumonia and his death. There was ZERO communication from a medical perspective. I received only a weekly phone call from a case manager who didn't know him; she could have cared less about his discharge planning and failed to even reply to my e-mails. Additionally, the facility failed to document his DNR/DNI status, even after I gave them a copy of his advance directive (it sat on the desk in his room, never made it to the chart!!). I would think twice about sending an elderly family member here.

I was a bit apprehensive sending my dad here after his stroke and reading the negative reviews about Madonna. Personally speaking, I have truly had amazing experiences with the nurses, therapists, social workers, and even the front desk people. My dad absolutely loved his time here and I am so grateful for what Madonna has had to offer him and his long journey ahead of him. Madonna is very clean, very responsive, and very caring. My dad was always checked on and the nurses and techโ€™s were beyond patient with him and his aphasia when trying to communicate what he wanted and they would always encourage him to try to speak while they listened โ€” no matter the amount of time it took. I was never once worried about leaving him for the night at Madonna alone just because his nurses genuinely cared for him. Leaving Madonna will truly be emotional just because I know the impact everyone here has had on him, my family and I will always hold a special place for Madonna in our hearts. We will definitely miss it!

So my dad went here for three weeks after a week stay at Bellevue medical hospital for about a week. He made lots of progress I cannot deny that while he stayed here but there are other things to consider. I visited him almost every day I.n the evenings. They said the visiting hours ended at nine. But sometimes would say eight. The food is pretty awful. We brought him lots of snacks because they offer no snacks and no drinks besides juice or milk etc. So you have to buy pops from a over priced vending machine that is pretty far. Which everything is pretty far away in this building. You have a long way to walk with limited parking to the front door. A long walk depending on who you are visiting and a extra long walk to leave.

My dad ended up having a stroke and went to Madonna after to regain confidence with walking and being able to become self sufficient with little support. Staff was awsome and friendly. They pushed him hard and challenged him. I can't say enough positive things as a result of his stay her. Thank you for everything. - Cory

I can not say enough positive things about the pediatric therapy here! After a very negative experience with the Millard school district trying to get my son speech help, I sought private therapy for him. They were exceptional!! From the the very first evaluation to the ending session, it was clear family centered care was a top priority. They realize they are with him for minutes each week and the rest lies to his family to work on. We worked with Rachel and she is top notch! She gave homework, guidance and support as well as making the sessions fun. Itโ€™s tough to get a 3yr old to work 30 minutes on something that is challenging. She always came with a fresh approach and new, fun activities. Iโ€™m so very happy we sought out care at Madonna. I will sing their praises for years to come. My son has made great progress in just weeks. Thank you for caring for the whole family. The Omaha community is very blessed and fortunate to have Madonna as an option for care!!

Madonna is one of the most frustrating experiences my family and I have dealt with. The only people that were truly helpful was therapy and maybe two nurses other than that lousy nurse care and subpar food. With the amount of money youโ€™re expected to pay you would think there would be more food options let alone more attentive care.

Our son complete his rehabilitation goals in Madonna. The place is frienly, clean and patient oriented. If you have a love one in need of care give Madonna Hospital and Rehabilitacion the opportunity. This facilities need your support in order to continue serving with the newest advances in rehabilitation. No place is perfect, but as it goes. You voice your concerns to the Madonna personel. And most important be there for your love one YOU ARE PART OF THE HEALING PROCESS.

My experience was wonderful. The nurses checked in on me every hour, the PT and OT was exceptional, and the rooms were clean and spacious. I can't say enough good things and would recommend Madonna Omaha to anyone.

I was at Madonna for just over 2 months after having a forklift crush me fracturing both hips and 3 ribs. My care staff during my whole stay was OUT OF THIS WORLD. Their Nursing, and Physical/Occupational, and Recreational Therapy staff are Top Notch. I will forever be grateful for everyone of the staff who worked/cared for me daily.

They where incredibly unhelpful, my dad stayed with them for rehab and they tried to get him out as soon as possible and gave little to no information as to how to continue his care at home. It was terrible, wish we had never worked with them. If I could rate lower than one star I would. Terrible just honestly terrible.

They shipped my dad to an unsafe facility without giving time to review or visit the faciltiy. My dad also fell several times during their care.

What a fabulous place to receive care! All the nurses, PTs, OTs, and Dr. Goodwin were so kind to me when I was there. Couldnโ€™t recommend it more.
