My Dad had surgery at NE spine last week and he can't see enough great things about his experience. Every interaction he had from entrance to exit was excellent. Every staff member there went above and beyond to provide him excellent care and was compassionate even when our family couldn't be there with my Dad ourselves. From the bottom of our hearts ~ thank you! A special thanks to Amy, Michelle, Paige, Mel, Vicky, Kent, Jordan, Maya, Lindsey, Texwin, Phil, Dr. Longley and Pat.

From the moment i walked in to the time i walked out I was treated as family and not just another person or number! The doctor and nursing staff was in tune with what one another was doing making it look steller with the way they interacted. My nurse Rhonda was the greatest from the very first phone call explaining how to get to the hospital, what steps I needed to do in order for preparation of surgery, right down to letting me bring anything to make sure I was comfortable during my stay. I must say that if I ever need surgery again this is where I will be. TO AN AMAZING CREW! Thank you with all our hearts Shanda Fulcher David Neil

I know exactly where to begin: with their amazing staff. Oh my goodness! I’ve never experienced a more professional, loving, caring and committed group of people in my life. From the second I walked in the door for my spinal fusion to the point I walked out of there, 30 hours later, not ONE person was ever even close to rude or uncaring. These folks love their jobs and you can tell it. I wanted to hug every single one of them when I left. I’m literally sitting here, shaking my head at what a first-class operation (no pun intended) this is. Whomever put this group together and holds them together... needs a HUGE raise! They’ve nailed it when it comes to patient care. Period. Amy Sarah Katelyn (I know I’m missing many!) THANK YOU!!! ❤️❤️❤️

The experience was great. The best service I ever received patient. The nurses were great, surgery started before scheduled, light response was the best I received from any hospital. Dr. Gill did a good job of processing me in and again during discharge. Meals served on time with hot meals hot and cold food cold. the discharge took less than one hour when it was determined that I was going to be discharged. Darwin Schulz Lincoln NE

Worse experience I have ever had in a hospital. I was there for 4 days 3 nights and had two nurses that cared and would take care of me. The others acting like it wasn’t there job to answer the call light or to care about the pain I was in and obviously had no business being nurses. My eye burned and hurt that I couldn’t open it after coming out of recovery nobody knew why or what happened, finally I got some drops but still couldn’t open it. My pain was at a 10 most of the time and the nurses could careless. Every time I asked for something they acted like it was an inconvenience I have never been treated so poorly by nurses in my life and will never go to this hospital again. They had problems getting ice bags like they were out of them. The cafeteria couldn’t get a call in order right and the nurses kept ordering the wrong food. Thank God I have kids that cared because they stuck around to take care of me since the staff getting paid wouldn’t do it. I would not recommend getting treated here, the anesthesiologist was rude, short with answering me and was scary before even having surgery not comforting at all. I had confidence in my surgeon or I would have called the surgery off right after meeting with the anesthesiologist and never would have been subjecting to the abuse from the nurses too. Worse hospital ever!!! And to top it off they had to shave part of my hair on the back of my neck before surgery and they just left it stuck to my head, my daughter pulled the chunk out when washing my hair so who knows what happened when I was out and they were prepping me for surgery!

I thought I knew what great healthcare looked like prior to my surgery at Nebraska Spine Hospital but what I thought was great is no comparison to the astonishingly excellent care I received at this facility. Never thought I would write a review about a medical facility but I was so impressed with how everything was handled that I feel compelled to share in case anyone else is considering spine surgery and needs to know what it's like at Nebraska Spine Hospital. The lead up to the surgery included a spine class (highly recommended, plus you get complimentary surgery prep soap that saves a trip to the drugstore!) Robin, my nurse navigator, was a diligent and excellent instructor who took a great deal of time to make sure that I was very well prepared for the procedure and she even popped in to say hi on the day of surgery! Surgery day was a blur and I can't remember all of the names but everyone I encountered from check-in (Angel is an angel!) and pre-op prep to recovery was compassionate, caring, and very very efficient. I was made as comfortable as possible and the nurses checked in often to see if I needed anything prior to surgery. When they wheeled me into surgery what little I remember was a bright, clean space with lots of people handling various tasks like a well run machine. It wasn't long before I drifted off to sleep. I was really hoping to go home same day, but they ended up keeping me overnight which made me a little anxious at first. I woke up in recovery and was immediately whisked to my room on the 8th floor. The room was large and comfortable, with a remarkable view that was nice. I have never had to stay overnight at a hospital before so my anxiety was a bit high at first but that was remedied with the diligent and competent care of my nurse Tommie. She was really REALLY good and when her shift ended I found myself a bit sad that she left! But the subsequent nurses were also very good and took care of everything I needed and quickly- I honestly cannot sing the praises of the nursing staff loud enough. They were all incredible, friendly, caring and competent. I honestly cannot imagine a higher level of care could be received- they truly set the bar high. The following morning included a visit from Dr McClellan, and a flurry of activity to get me fed (kitchen staff was so kind- best jello I ever) , showered, shown how to navigate steps, cars, bathtubs (occupational therapy), a special visit with a therapist to address some issues I was having with swallowing (Bridget- she was fantastic as well and her instruction enabled me to have a much more pleasant recovery at home), a visit with the pharmacist on my medications which I have to elaborate on because I was so impressed with this as well. Not only did he visit with me, he asked if I would like a printout of the information for the medications- and when I said yes, he left for several minutes, came back and hand-delivered that information to me. Later, one of the pharmacy staff members delivered the medications I needed to take home with me. I want to highlight this because I was in Kansas City earlier this year for a family member's surgery and when they were released, we had to drive to the drug store on the way home to get his meds which was a hassle and very inconvenient. It seems like such a little detail but wow did it make a difference. I was able to go home and rest without having to worry about important logistics like having to go pick up prescriptions that I would need in a few hours. And those are just some of the details I recall but generally speaking, I would absolutely 100% recommend this hospital to anyone considering surgery. They have thought of every detail and it shows from the moment you are scheduled. It truly was the absolute best care and I am so pleased that it worked out so well for me. I commend the staff at Nebraska Spine Hospital for the extraordinary level of service they offer from start to finish and the quality of care that they deliver. It's not easy to do what they do everyday but I'm sure glad they are doing it!

Nobody wants to have to have surgery, but if it's going to happen, CHI Nebraska Spine Hospital is absolutely the place to do it. From our entry to our exit the care was NOTHING LESS THAN PHENOMENAL!!! Intake nurses were great, Dr. Timothy Burd had to work for his level of perfection, but pulled it off flawlessly, but the nursing staff I do not know enough accolades to praise them. Any words that I would use would be inadequate. Spectacular care from: ALISA MARISSA KELSI SAM I'll be taking them cookies in a month or so.

Place sucks, Dr told my wife she was too fat and thats causing her pain issue when she was injured at work so this is all workmans comp, she explained she is seeing UNMC for weightloss surgery due to PCOS and infertility issues. Dr. Kept going on about her weight. We both are in healthcare/EMS to be treated soo poorly is unacceptable. Stay away from this place.
