Terrible
experience.
I
waited
in
line
for
over
an
hour
to
get
an
appointment
for
a
large
number
of
bug
bites
that
wouldn't
go
away.
When
I
got
to
the
receptionist
I
asked
how
much
to
get
checked
out,
cash
pay
because
I
don't
have
insurance.
I
was
told
$100
for
the
office
visit.
I
paid
the
$100
and
finally
was
seen,
well
looked
at
briefly
anyway.
She
(the
doctor)
took
one
glance
at
my
hands
(my
whole
body
was
affected,
but
she
declined
to
look
at
any
of
the
other
bites),
within
20
seconds
she
told
me
that
they
weren't
in
fact
bites
but
my
immune
system
overreacting
to
something
unknown.
She
ordered
a
steroid
shot
and
a
weeks
worth
of
antibiotics.
I
got
the
shot,
filled
the
prescription
and
left
town
the
next
day
for
work.
The
issue
seemed
to
clear
up
so
I
was
content
for
the
time
being.
Two
weeks
later
I
came
back
home
and
immediately
the
issue
started
up
again.
Come
to
find
out
they
were
in
fact
bug
bites,
bed
bugs
from
a
recent
houseguest
to
be
exact.
I
didnt
really
think
about
the
visit
again
until
I
opened
the
bill,
I
was
being
charged
an
additional
$278
on
top
of
the
hundred
I
paid
already.
I
called
to
get
details
of
my
bill
and
instead
was
told
they
would
mail
me
a
statement
but
that
they
would
really
appreciate
it
if
I
paid
my
debt,
which
they
were
saying
was
already
overdue.
I
explained
that
I
paid
the
amount
I
was
told
upfront,
but
they
kept
insisting
that
I
"take
care
of
my
responsibility".
After
this
extremely
condescending
and
unproductive
call,
I
waited
for
the
detailed
statement.
Finally
it
came,
I
was
charged
roughly
$35
for
the
nurse
to
give
me
a
shot,
$8
for
the
shot
itself
and
the
remainder
was
for
the
office
visit.
That's
$135
more
than
I
was
told,
I
explained
this
and
once
again
had
to
endure
the
condescending
comments
from
the
billing
and
financial
aid
department.
They
tried
to
convince
me
the
$100
was
just
a
copay,
although
this
was
never
stated
and
my
experiences
with
other
walk
in
clinics
in
town
have
been
upfront
about
the
costs.
I
spoke
at
great
lengths
to
a
higher
up
in
the
billing
department,
she
assured
me
she
would
look
into
this
and
get
back
to
me,
as
of
today,
over
3
weeks
later,
I
have
heard
nothing
back.
But,
I
did
receive
another
bill
for
the
same
amount
as
the
first
one.
So
now
I
have
unnecessarily
been
given
a
steroid
shot
and
a
round
of
antibiotics,
and
they
still
think
I
owe
them
more
for
the
office
visit
than
I
paid
initially.
I
don't
dispute
the
cost
for
the
unnecessary
shot,
but
if
you
give
a
customer
a
price,
you
should
stick
to
it.
And
if
the
services
that
were
paid
for
weren't
properly
provided,
then
the
company
should
make
it
right.
I
guarentee
if
this
doctor
hired
me
to
remodel
her
bathroom,
and
came
home
to
see
that
I
painted
her
house
instead,
she
wouldn't
pay
me
a
dime.
No
accountability
within
CHI
means
that
no
matter
how
big
this
conglomerate
gets,
I
will
never
pay
for
their
services
again.
The
healthcare
industry
is
too
competitive
to
accept
such
substandard
and
incompetent
practices.
I
highly
recommend
that
anyone
considering
visiting
CHI
do
a
quick
Google
search
for
walk
in
clinics
and
choose
almost
any
other
one
besides
CHI.
UPDATE:
CHI
responded
immediately
with
their
form
letter
response
on
google
reviews,
but
when
I
emailed
them
my
contact
information
(as
requested
in
their
response)
I
never
heard
anything
back.
They
do
continue
to
send
me
billing
notices,
even
though
this
charge
is
currently
in
dispute.
Terrible
care
and
worse
business
practices.
SECOND
UPDATE:
I
called
again,
spoke
to
Zeke
G.
Informed
him
of
the
situation,
he
talked
in
circles
eventually
settling
on
the
idea
that
the
burden
of
proof
is
on
me
to
show
that
the
receptionist
told
me
it
would
be
$100
to
get
seen,
(cash
pay,
no
insurance).
He
tried
to
convince
me
that
was
only
an
estimate
and
that
they
gave
me
a
$55
cash
pay
discount
(not
applied
until
I
complained
originally).
Somehow
after
a
brief
but
faulty
diagnosis
their
'estimate'
went
from
100
to
229.
But
according
to
Zeke,
it's
my
fault
for
not
requesting
the
receptionist
to
put
her
words
in
writing
when
she
quoted
me
the
cost
to
get
seen.
