The food was amazing! Plenty of choices and the service was fast. You build your own plate or you can choose from some options already made. They have parking available in front of the restaurant. This was our first time there and we really enjoyed everything we tried! Absolutely recommended!

Tried this place for the first time yesterday & I loved my selection. This was my first time trying African cuisine. I got Nina’s lamb special bowl & it was very tasty! I will definitely be back! The Mango, Pineapple lemonade was good too!!

Best African Restaurant I’ve ever experienced! It’s a modern mom and pop hole in the wall. My boyfriend, Tyler has a gluten allergy. They are very knowledgeable about everything that goes into each meal. The owner’s son served us. He walked my 8 year old through each item and explained what it was with patience and professionalism. This is a must try anytime you’re in the Omaha area.

Yum! 😊 First time visitor, the staff helped me choose items for my order and everything was delicious! I ate my fill and still took home 2/3 of my meal. Will definitely be back.

Okra hits the spot. The offerings on the menu are varied and perfectly flavoured. My favorites are the peanut butter chicken entree and the grilled fish special. You absolutely cannot go wrong with either. The fried okra is delicious too. I am so happy that this restaurant is here in Omaha and successful. Please make sure to stop in for a meal; it will make you happy!

Pro tip, order Nina's ginger lemonade. I'm leery on ginger and not a fan of lemonade, but id do this drink because it's a great combination. It also goes very well with the lamb bowl that i ordered. I think generally it would go well with most of the items though I'd need to try them. Food is presented cafeteria style where it is pre prepared. They scoop up whatever combination you request (you can choose one of their options or create your own). Dine in is served on disposable plates with a cutlery/drink/napkin station. Soft drinks are self serve, but the lemonades are by the cup. The restaurant itself looks very clean and well maintained. When it came to the lemonade I wasn't sure what to get, but the cashier offered me samples which made the decision simple once I knew what it tastes like. The one issue I had was with the menu. They only have the board up against the wall. If you have eye site problems, you might have issues reading it as the print was a bit small. I did not notice any paper menus near where we ordered. The lemonade is a 5 star The Lamb bowl was a 4 star

The food is very good especially the vegan okra. The mango pineapple lemonade was so good. I wish I had bought a gallon. Atmosphere was very clean and inviting. It's worth the 2 hour trip. Owner very friendly. Try it!

It was my first time trying African food. The owner, Nina, took the time to explain to me that her food is from western Africa. She was very kind. Her food was so delicious and fresh. I like that it's like a deli style and ready right away. I will definitely become a regular customer. 😌

A great place to try something different! The flavors are different enough to be unique, but not so spicy that picky eaters would be scared to try. I had the peanut butter chicken and the P.B. flavor was very mild but good. The plantains added a hint of sweet which was very good. The ginger lemonade had too much ginger for my liking, so you might go with another drink. I had a taste of the flan, which is not my favorite dessert texture, but the flavor was good. Restaurant was clean and employees were nice. I will definitely be back to try more things from this unique menu!

First time at Okra and YOU have to go! It’s the cutest little spot with amazing food. The peanut butter chicken and ginger lemonade is to die for. IT WAS FIRE!! The service we received was so amazing and we will definitely be back again. They made us feel welcomed and gave us an amazing experience.

My husband and I both really enjoyed our food! I got a chicken bowl with peanut sauce and plantains. The fried plantains were my favorite part-delicious! My husband had a lamb bowl and said it was the best lamb he’s ever had. Highly recommend this place!

When entering the restaurant, you can immediately appreciate how clean it is. Our server (who wore gloves before preparing any of the dishes) was very knowledgeable about the menu and gave excellent suggestions. The menu is similar to chipotle style in the sense you can creat your own bowl or choose an option that’s pre-made. The food is then made in front of you (chipotle style) and served warm, fresh and, delicious. Regarding options, the menu tailors to most dietary restrictions which is great! The pricing is fairly reasonable for the portion size and quality. I would highly recommend this place and thankful to expand Omaha’s multicultural dinning experience!

We tried African food for the first time and I am such a picky eater and I loved it! They have so many flavor options and things to try. I wish we would have tried it sooner! So wonderful! Definitely recommend! They had spicy options and sweet options and savory options. I got the red rice and chicken and corn and garlic potatoes with the peanut sauce and tomato sauce on the side to dip in and try out. The boys were more adventurous and also loved their meals, surf and turf and a lamb bowl. Even the chicken strips and fries were a hit! You cannot go wrong here! We will be back and you need to try it ASAP!!! Don't be like me and not try something new, because this is sooooooo good!

It was a pleasure to stop by and check this place out. Ms. Sodji and I had a pretty indepth conversation about Togo and ancestry and since i was passing through Omaha she also suggested some parks and lakes nearby. It was good to see her son helping with the business(He took my order, explained everything thoroughly), and the food was delicious!!!! I created a bowl with Kellogg rice, black-eyed peas, plantains, sweet corn, fried okra and topped with ngwesi stew... The ginger lemonade was just right, strong but not over powering..Definitely a must if your looking for good African food and good vibes!!!

I love the flavor, However over the last couple month, the service provided by the owner was very rude, cold, and inconsistent. The portions compared to other places are extremely small she puts the fufu in the same small black meal prep container as the engusi, I feel if im paying almost 25 dollars for each entree the fufu should be on the side and the engusi soup should fill up the entirety of the meal prep box. IN addition she adds very little of the soup, she will fill it up with the other 2 sides if you add it to the point you cant even taste or barely see the ensusi ( which is the key element of the dish) Then I asked for extra fufu (my daughter likes it with her peanut chicken and they from what I was told only sell it with the engusi soup. However, my other went in there and she asked him how many extra fufu he wanted, with no issues. I was offended due to her telling me I had to buy another engusi soup if I wanted another fufu. I have was a regular but over time with the level of service and portions being reduced we will more than likely not b e visiting the restaurant any more

I love this place so much! The food is always fresh and delicious and portioned beautifully. The service has been consistently fast and friendly! I travel to Omaha several times a year and I always make sure to stop in. I hope they will someday have locations in other cities so I can enjoy it more often!

Service is personable and professional. Food is flavorful with a range spiciness. Love the plantains and spinach sauce. Price is on point. So glad that we stopped by before returning to Queen Sheba in Sacramento, CA.

Loved everything we had. The rice dumplings were a little like rice bao buns, puffy and lightly sweet, excellent for dipping in the peanut sauce. That peanut sauce is addictive. The steak was a little dry but was so good with the different sauces that I didn’t mind at all. Portions are generous but not crazy. I highly recommend trying this restaurant and look forward to trying more dishes!

After being poorly served in another African restaurant and having a horrible first experience with Fufu with Egusi. I decided to give it another try and came to Okra Africa Grill and was completely satisfied! Staff is patient, friendly, don’t mind giving you the run down on their dishes without getting annoyed with the “TikTok” hype on fufu. I was originally going to go for the Fufu with goat soup due to the experience I had yesterday with Fufu with Egusi, but went with their fufu with lamb egusi as they recommended and could not believe the dish I had yesterday was the same as the one I had today. NIGHT DAY. Place was clean, food was fresh, flavorful, not too salty as some people shared, loved the addition of pico, everything about the dish was delicious! Was in and out within 5-10 minutes. Highly recommend!

I love the Okra Grill African food! Very seasoned, lightly salted and delicious. I always build a bowl with my favs: jellof rice, tender chicken, fried plantains (OMG), roasted corn and grilled veggies. Topped with peanut sauce and spinach sauce on side it is so good. Nina is always there when I go working hard but still says hi.

For anyone living in Omaha or traveling to, this is a must stop! My wife and I tried this restaurant a couple of years ago and really enjoyed this unique cuisine, and were disappointed when we returned to see it was no longer there, but we’re excited to see they had just moved a few blocks down the road. My wife who suffers from celiac disease has only had positive experiences from this restaurant! They are very knowledgeable about this condition and extremely kind while explaining their menu. This has quickly become one of my favorite stops and I look forward to stopping again the next time I pass through. I have yet to try something I haven’t enjoyed!
