A wonderful museum full of so many details and fun activities for kids. I was very impressed with their pioneer history section. It was very well researched and had great displays of information about the people and events of Washington county. Two rooms of the museum have hands-on activities for kids to touch and play. My kids had a blast playing in the bank and pretend playing with the old fashioned phones.

Only a small museum with limited displays but, despite that, interesting to visit. Instead of driving through the town this museum makes for a good excuse to park, stretch your legs and take in some of the older buildings and the sycamore trees across the street.

Larger than you would think once you are inside. Has a lot of history and photos from Washington County's early days. Several rooms. Tools, firearms, and household items. Cheap admission fee.

This is a nice little museum. I really appreciate how many hands-on exhibits there are to engage kids. It really stands out in that respect. I really like all of the large graphics they have on the walls. They were very well designed and had great information on them. There were only a few exhibits where I wish they had included the year an item was made (such as when the first teacher began teaching and the antique games, would be cool to know when they were made). Still, they have more and better signage about the items on display than many museums I've been to, so 5 stars for having such a great and well displayed collection. Overall, my kids and I enjoyed the museum and will come back! They also have a scavemter hunt and a junior ranger program if you're into that. Super fun to visit with kids!

We did a harvest host overnight stay here. They were very helpful. The local restaurants are good.
