Our visit was wonderful, very educational and enlightening. The docent, Shamika Simpson, was very well versed on Malcolm X and his place in our history, and I found her presentation very straightforward, well informed and delightfully candid. I was shocked to learn that this native son of Nebraska was not already in their Hall of Fame. SMH

Very nice memorial to an important historical figure. Worth noting that the marker itself is a few steps down from the parking lot and in a field area.

What an unexpected find! It was a bit of a challenge finding the marker as it sits behind the Malcolm X visitor center in a huge open grassy field. There was a small shelter and some benches to overlook the area. The visitor center was closed at the time we were there but next trip would love to see the memorabilia.

I visited for my friends 21st anniversary party and it was wonderful! The venue is spacious and decorated beautifully and plenty of room to boogie; this place was awesome!

This was a great learning experience! Our tour guide provided information on Malcolm X and the history of Omaha, I hadn't come across. We didn't get a chance to appreciate the outside exhibit but they were preparing for the Juneteenth event. Will definitely visit again the next time I'm in Omaha!

Born here in 1925, Malcolm X lived four short years in Omaha. Because of his leadership and wisdom, the site was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984. Today, it is maintained as a powerful monument to the capacity for social change throughout the world.

I love this place because it’s Malcolm X however, this place needs a ton of work. I wish POC would take better care of this sacred land.

I was glad to find this spot. There was one other local man there when I stopped by. When I asked him where the marker was, he mentioned how many folks stop for a selfie with the building, and never go down to the marker. What a shame. It's a nice little area with benches, a small greenhouse and a beautiful view. Perfect to sit and reflect in silence for a few minutes.

Beautiful place! Walked away knowing more about Malcolm X than I did walking in. Great tour and look forward to coming back in the future!

This was fascinating because of the docent, who spent almost 2 hours with us, and explained so many aspects of Malcolm X's life in great detail, as well as thoroughly answering all questions we had. This was more than worth the admission. However, it would be great if the State of Nebraska and the Federal Government could put more funds into this site. It could be a thriving place, if they were able to get support for it.
